6:32get started let's get started with this week's topics Hannah I didn't even ask you how are you doing how is your long weekend nothing juicy to report pretty low key but I got a lot of work done oh good I'm glad better question how is your weekend at the beach it was relaxing and speaking of tape McCray and Jack Hughes I actually went to the Parker House where they were spotted down at the Jersey Shore I went to the Parker House this weekend what's one of the places I went to and it was packed I tried to figure out where they were spotted it's huge the the bar and the place is huge so I don't know how so many people saw them I mean it was packed so I guess there's a lot of people there but I'm so curious that once word got out that they were there if everyone in the place flocked to that specific area because it's very much segregated into

8:34vitamin day it's proven I think oh really okay yeah I think you're right and I'm not gonna deny it anymore I can't help it it makes me happy let's get let's get into I do were SPF on my face though I do want to say that I don't look like tan mom okay sorry and let's get into this week if you listen to last week's episode at the end of the episode there was a caller who asked about celebrity news reporting slash journalism and I answered their question and in answering their question I had mentioned that my answer was specifically about celebrity news reporting I wasn't a hundred percent sure if hard news or world news or local news or any other type of news was handled in the same way somebody heard my comment and wrote this in I thought I've read it to everyone

9:36because I find it interesting and I know some of you do as well this person says that they were a hard news reporter slash anchor for 10 years there's not an industry wide rule or anything on fact checking like you were talking about with people magazine but the general rule of thumb is two on the record sources to run a story most publications have their own set of rules that everyone in that shop will adhere to so it can vary but that's generally what's accepted for off the record stuff it really depends on how trustworthy the source is and in my experience it's best to have at least two very trusted sources to report off the record info so just to let everyone know this is me talking now this isn't the message on the record people will give their name and I'm assuming allow their name and relation to the information to be published off the record is more

11:45you've been spreading rumors for like ten years unknowingly no not rumors it's been it's been facts that I just didn't want connected back to me that's why I would say off the record like don't repeat it that's what I thought it meant I always thought off the record meant don't repeat and and specifically don't say it came from me now I'm like oh shit anyway okay look it up this person continues otherwise I'd aim for three to four less reputable sources to confirm and maybe pair that with information someone more reputable has given on background okay they explain this on background means you can report the info but not credit it to your source directly okay so that means a non-please on background means a non-please so a lot of the quote a person close to so and so and quote info would be considered on background but this happens in hard news

12:48too okay so for me and I know this to be true for some celebrity news publications a person close to so and so and quote that usually means the publicist or a close friend of the celebrity I know that for a fact so I feel like that this hard news explanation is a little bit different than what I was under the impression or how I operate they finish up saying in all of these situations I 'd always be very explicit in my reporting on what I decided so I I'd say something like several people confirmed off the record or two sources with intimate knowledge of the scene things like that to cover my own ass if anyone ever came back to question it oh my god I need to okay I might have to switch my reporting into some hard news lingo several people confirmed off the record I've

16:59ring on I'm not a hundred percent sure if she's someone who always wears a wedding ring I guess they could look through old red carpet and paparazzi pictures of her she's not photographed that often by the paparazzi mainly if she's in town in New York promoting something going to the today show or you know a talk show and they get her outside the studio I've seen a bunch of paparazzi pictures of her from those scenarios but she was photographed casually by the paparazzi in Venice not wearing a wedding ring I put this in the newsletter as always it migrated to Instagram stories and somebody said you hinted about an Amanda side Fred split it was a blind item about a triple threat actress splitting after her last press tour so I looked for this blind

20:11connected but the new season of the bachelor that is coming up this is not was on Instagram I'm just refreshing your memory or if you're not an Instagram I'll just read you the caption sources tell them what that the bachelor is allegedly scrambling to find a new male lead after plans surrounding Taylor Frankie Paul season of the bachelor at stalled well it has already been reported that filming for the next season of the bachelor was pushed from September to January we're told the delay is connected to the uncertainty surrounding Taylor's unaired season according to sources one of Taylor's finalists have been positioned as a potential next bachelor and producers had hoped to air the season first as a natural segue into his season and introduce him to viewers despite the controversy surrounding Taylor were told there was still a push behind the scenes to get the season on air in part because producers had not

21:14seriously pursued other potential leads now with Taylor season unlikely to air sources say producers may have to find an entirely new bachelor women in the final stages of casting the bachelor have allegedly been told to expect more detailed information by the end of September and to plan for filming in January now if you follow along on Instagram there has been a lot of back and forth because I've been getting the past couple months wishy washy information about Taylor Frankie Paul season of the bachelor at and whether or not it will air this spring or earlier this summer it was I believe it's gonna air and then all of a sudden no it's not gonna air and then it was like it's gonna air and now it seems it's back to it not airing however I do believe that there are sources out there and reports out there that there still could be a chance I don't know why

22:18the idea of this season airing or not airing keeps floating why can't they just definitively say yes or no my guess is because ABC maybe hasn't made a final decision I mean maybe the decision makers at ABC are split on whether or not to air it I also heard that they were trying to test the audience temperature of how they feel about her based on all of the information that has come out about her this past year that is information that has been mainly reported on by TMZ that's not really information that Demois has heard of independently so I can't really speak to you know all the police reports and all the accusations against her I've obviously have seen the recording of her fighting with her ex and her kid in the room but I don't have any additional
