For years, her dense breast have prompted extra monitoring with check-ups every six months. A routine ultrasound the Friday before Labor Day showed something concerning, leading to a quick biopsy. Results confirmed a small tumor and an MRI followed to check its spread. On that time, both her parents were in hospice on opposite coasts. Her father passed away first while she was on route to New York and her mother followed in January. Test showed the cancer was hormone receptor positive and achy her two negative along with a second benign mass. She had a lumpectomy and radiation as treatment.
