Alicia Tournebize: Gamecock's Dunking Debut?

0:00On March 20th, Alicia Tornevis, the 6-foot-7 French forward for the South Carolina Game Cox, grabbed attention during Friday's practice, before their first round NCAA Tournament game. She nailed a Dunkin' Drills, showing off her impressive athleticism. She's dunked before, including during a FIBA event for France last summer, and in pre-game warm-ups with her pro-team, Tango Borges Basket. But she has not done it yet in an actual game for the Game Cox. Ashlyn Watkins holds the distinction as the first South Carolina player to dunk in a game, doing so against Clemson in 2022, then versus. Kentucky at home and on the road at TCU in later seasons, Tornevis would be the second if she pulls it off. She joined the team mid-season, signing just before Christmas and arriving in Colombia on New Year's Day. Her debut came on January 15 against Texas, and she has appeared in 15 games total, averaging 4.1 points and 2.7 rebounds in 12.3 minutes per game.
