Algerian Migrant Sentenced for Luxury Watch Heists

0:00On April 23rd, a 25-year-old Algerian migrant named Abdul Kareem Ian Bousir got four and a half years in prison for snatching over 100, thousand pounds worth of luxury watches from wealthy shoppers in London's Mayfair last summer. He targeted three victims over three months, ripping off a 5,000-pound Cartier on July 17th, an 18,000-pound Hewblot on August 1st, and an 85,000-pound Patek Philippe outside the Ritz on September 18th. Each time, he and accomplices got close and crowded spots, grabbed wrists quick and vanished, with CCTV footage linking him every step. Victims described pure shock and fear, like one thinking the worst could happen next, while the judge slammed him as a systematic predator who, loitered in rich areas, hunting high-end timepieces. Bousir claimed he was just checking his asylum claim and fell in with the robbery crew, but the court saw through the lies he's an absconder with.
