Alabaster Police Shoot Man, Identified as James R. McCarter

0:00In Birmingham, it's March 11th. Here's what is happening. Authorities have identified the man shot by Alibaster Police on Tuesday as James R. McCarter, a 44-year-old resident of Alibaster. The incident took place just after 12.30 pm, off Simmsville Road, when officers approached to serve an outstanding warrant. McCarter suffered non-life-threatening injuries and was rushed to a hospital for treatment. It remains unclear whether he was the person police were seeking or if he was armed during the encounter. State investigators with the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency are still looking into the shooting and the case will soon go to the Shelby County. District Attorney's Office for review.
