AJ Brown Trade Talks Stall Due to Salary Cap

About this episode

Trade rumors swirl around Philadelphia Eagles A J Brown, but salary cap issues and lack of suitable offers keep him with the team. Despite interest from Patriots and Rams, Browns hefty salary and loyalty to Philly make a deal unlikely in the near future.

Rumors have been swirling about a potential trade for Philadelphia Eagles wide receiver and three-time pro-buller AJ Brown. Over the weekend, talks heated up with the New England Patriots and Los Angeles Rams, but nothing came of it. Teams backed off mainly because of the salary cap meth. AJ Brown before June 1st would hit the Eagles with a dead cap charge of more than $40 million next season. Waiting until after that date drops it below $20 million, spread across two years. Adam Schefter explained that money is the big roadblock right now. He still thinks a deal could happen eventually, since Brown might want out, but the Eagles won't just give him away cheap. Brown himself sounded loyal during Super Bowl week last year. He called Philly Home and praised the fans' support and the city's tough love. For now, expecting to stay quiet on the trade front, no team has stepped up with the right

offer, so Brown remains with the Eagles. Support for this episode comes from our sponsor. See the description. Some chase peace. I put my head in it, S-O-L-I, solelypillow.com.
