Conducted with over 1,000 participants, the study found that more than half (51.57%) expressed a high level of interest in using a digital shekel.

This level of enthusiasm signals strong potential for national digital currency adoption in Israel. However, unlike Bitcoin and open blockchains, CBDCs are not open-source, permissionless, borderless, censorship-resistant, neutral, or publicly verifiable.
