AI Factory in Kimberley: Australia's Largest Data Center

Right in the remote Kimberly region, South of Broom, about 2,000 kilometers north of. Perth. This AI factory, led by ginger or energy, will train massive systems like chat GPT and is set to kick off in stages, opening fully by 2032. The joint venture brings together the Kairhari Traditional Lands Association, Dutch firm Fugro and Australian Longreach Capital. It starts with 240 megawatts of IT power, but scales up 4 times to 1 gigawatt way, bigger than the usual 5 to 10 megawatt centers. Around the country, traditional owners are co-owning this beast, which is pretty rare. KTLA Chair Thomas King calls it unique, especially since it's green powered by wind turbines, solar panels, batteries, and a bit of natural gas. Still, not everyone's on board.
