AGSI Slams Garda Suspension System, Demands Independent Oversight

The Association of Guarda Sargents and Inspectors kicked off their annual conference in Westport County Mail, slamming the current system and demanding independent oversight for long suspensions. They pointed the Limert Pro by the National Bureau of Criminal Investigation, where 11 Guard ISAT suspended for six years over fixed penalty. Some were never charged with state-off duty anyway, while others got acquitted after an eight-week trial or had cases dropped last week. Reactions are pouring in from all sides. The Guarda Representative Association, solicitors, politicians like the Tanai State, and some TDs are pushing for a full public inquiry. Even the Dao E. Siche says he'd rather see an internal Guarda review of how the investigation was handled. Delegates are also tackling bigger headaches, like broken industrial relations with no collective bargaining, the strain of policing Ireland's EU, presidency on top of everyday crime.
