Afghan Vet Fights for Recovery After Station Assault

0:00On April 17th, a 39-year-old Afghan Special Forces veteran named Noor Aziz Amazai got hit with a serious brain injury after an alleged assault at Weimouth Railway Station. He was working security there when he collapsed last month, got airlifted to the hospital, and scans showed a brain bleed. He's awake now, but staring down a long recovery road. British Transport Police got the call around 8.31pm on March 26th after reports of a rail staff assault. They arrested 217-year-old girls at the scene, but released them while the investigation keeps rolling. Cops are supporting his family and asking witnesses to come forward. As these served alongside the British Army in Afghanistan, trained as an officer as sandhurst and led counter-terror ops against the Taliban. When they took over in 2021, he fled to the UK under the Afghan Relocations Program thanks to his work with Brits. Now he wants to join UK forces, but he needs five years residency first for citizenship.
