Welcome to entertainment and celebrity news today. Two minutes of pop culture that matter. Musician Adam Melkor has a heartwarming story about his childhood friendship with Michael B. Jordan right after Jordan won the Best Actor Oscar in, 2026 for his roles and centers. Melkor, known for his song Real Estate, shared the memory in a social media video on Monday, March 16th. Melkor's dad was the vice principal at Newark Arts High School in New Jersey back then. Jordan attended there during the summer of 2001 when he was just a teenager. Melkor's father worked year-round. So young Adam tagged along those summers and hung out at the school. That's when Adam got close to one kid in particular, Michael. The older boy took him under his wing, playing basketball and walking around campus together. It meant the world to little Adam, who was sad to say goodbye as summer's end. Adam's dad eased his worries by promising a movie outing to see Jordan's first film that September. He also revealed that some kids at school gave Jordan a hard time, jealous of him.
Turns out Jordan didn't have tons of friends like Adam thought. Melkor wrapped up by congratulating Jordan, warning to be kind in school and offering to hoop again anytime. It echoes a viral clip from 2023 when Jordan called out a former bully from another Newark school on a red carpet.
