Active Shooter at Michigan Synagogue, Children at Risk

0:00On March 12, police and West Bloomfield Township, Michigan are dealing with an active shooter at Temple Israel Synagogue after someone crashed a car. Into the building, an open fire inside. The reformed Jewish congregation runs one of the largest memberships in the country and has an attached preschool that was open during the incident. Putting children at risk, eyewitnesses describe parents and grandparents rushing to the scene in panic, hugging and crying behind police lines as they worried about the kids. Inside, Michigan State Police have sent dozens of vehicles and urged people to stay clear while boosting patrols at other houses of worship nearby. Local schools and Jewish groups have locked down as a precaution, with the situation still unfolding and authorities working to secure the area.
