Victims could be warned in real time when a perpetrator approaches a prohibited zone, allowing them to take immediate protective action and giving authorities the ability to intervene rather than merely react to tragedy.

The podcast also scrutinizes why, despite these advances, such life-saving technologies are not yet widely deployed in the UK. The hosts question whether bureaucratic inertia, cost concerns, or lack of political will have delayed the adoption of electronic monitoring in domestic violence contexts — even as statistics show domestic abuse accounts for nearly one-fifth of all violent crime in the UK.
