And I, it's rich greetings here from my senior citizen apartment as we encourage each other to abide in Jesus. Have faith in Him, live in Him, and I mean by that being a disciple of His, making serving Him and doing what He says our priority, right? And that's what we want to encourage each other to do on this podcast. And the other day, my thoughts were drawn to Psalm 56 verse 2, where the Psalmist says, mine enemies would daily swallow me up, for there be many that fight against me, oh thou most high. Psalm 56 verse 2. But mine enemies would daily swallow me up. And that's the way it is in spiritual warfare, the enemy is out there. And he is trying to swallow us up, not just get us down, but to destroy us, to swallow us up. And then the Psalmist said, what time I am afraid I will trust in thee, and God I will praise His word, and God I've put my trust, I will not fear what flesh can do to me.
Psalm 56 and starting in verse 2. But a sober reminder, and it reminded me that I had been indeed under enemy attack, and I could see that as I reflected on it. And we're always under enemy attack, I think, sometimes just from more directions than others. And it's good to remember who we are fighting, and who are depending upon, and who we wish to rely on. And that is, of course, our Lord. And it's important just to hold on to Christ. And if we failed, ask for forgiveness, and then get back up and ask for a strength, and His strength is made perfect in weakness, don't forget that. But if you are feeling very weak, and feel like you just can't win, well, thank God. Now's the time to ask for the power and the strength of Jesus to come in. And let's ask them to do that right now. Lord, we ask for your power, your strength to resist the enemy, and to overcome, amen. In Jesus name, we ask that, amen. Well, you know, it's important
to pray. I've learned that I've gotten great victories when I just get praying and praying, even when I was failing, I'd get back up and say, Lord, help me, and then I get the victory. But it doesn't end there. It's a continual process of going to God and praying. So I encourage us both to do that. I think what brother Peter says in 1 Peter chapter 5, he says, be sober, be vigilant because your adversary, the devil, as a roaring lion, walk at the bouts seeking whom he may devour. So let's you and I be sober. And there's only one way to be sober. And then it says here, who resist steadfast in the faith. Let's you and I do that, okay? I wanted to share that with you. And thank God he is here to help us. And thank God we know God. You know, if we didn't know God, we wouldn't have much of a battle. We just be under the thumb of the devil and doing his will 24 seven. So thank God, at least we have a battle. And we will win in God. And that said, I shall
visit with you next time.
