And I, it's rich and greetings from my senior citizen apartment, as we encourage each other to abide in Jesus, living a life rooted in him, faith in him for salvation, trusting him completely, and following him. I was thinking, you know, God has not called us to be know at all, God has called us to love him, and to do what he says. Yeah, that's kind of nice, kind of keeps it simple. And I like what the Lord warns us about here in John 10, 1, he talks about the man that is a thief in a robber. He says, truly, I say to you, he who does not enter the sheepfold by the door, but climbs up another way, that man is a thief in a robber. And I thought, what a great reminder for you and me this hour to watch out for the thief and the robber beyond guard. Isaiah 56, 10, it says, his watchmen are blind, they are all without knowledge, they are silent dogs, they cannot bark, dreaming, lying down, living to slumber.
The dogs have plenty of appetite, they never have enough. And that's why the false shepherds are that way, the false prophets, their thieves, and their robbers just look at the way they come at you, trying to get everything you've got. Ezekiel 34 verse 2, Son of man prophesied against the shepherds of Israel, prophesy, and say to them, even to the shepherds, thus says the Lord God. Shepherds of Israel, who have been feeding yourselves, should not shepherds feed the sheep, Ezekiel, and 34 in verse 2. And it goes on to say, you eat the fat, you clothe yourselves with the wool, you slaughter the fat ones, but do you not feed the sheep? The weak you have not strengthened, the sick you have not healed, the injured you have not bound up, the strayed you have not brought back, the lost you have not sought, and with force and harshness you have ruled them.
So they were scattered because there was no shepherd, and they became food for all the wild beasts. And that's in Ezekiel 34 starting in verse 5. It says, Romans 16, 18, for such persons do not serve our Lord Christ, but their own appetites, and by smooth talk and flattery they deceive the hearts of the naive. So let's be on guard here about the thief and the robber, and let's continue to abide in Jesus and his word, okay?
