Dear Jack,

I've been married for seven years, and I recently discovered that my husband has been keeping a significant secret from me. It turns out that he has a hidden bank account with a considerable amount of money that he never mentioned. I stumbled upon it accidentally while trying to organize our financial documents.

I feel betrayed and hurt that he didn't trust me enough to share this information. When I confronted him, he became defensive and said he wanted a "safety net" in case things went south in our marriage. We've always prided ourselves on open communication, and this revelation has shattered my trust.

How should I handle this situation? Is it reasonable for him to have a secret stash of money, or should I be concerned about the state of our marriage?
