A Tip For Turning Website Visitors Into Subscribers

About this episode

Setting up an email capture form on a website helps creators build an audience they can reach again, even after someone closes the tab. An opt-in can live at the top of the page, appear as someone scrolls, or trigger as an exit-intent pop-up, depending on the web host. Services like Beehiiv and Substack make it easy to collect emails now and decide later whether to send an occasional newsletter roundup.

0:00Ariel, I've decided to take today's tip as a personal attack, as the one who quickly set up our website at dailytipspodcast.com, and if you, Tip and Dale's, go to that website, you will not notice today's tip. What is it? Today's tip is an easy win for people who make things and put them on the internet and have websites, and it is to set up an email, capture form, place it on the website, and try to point people to it, because one way to make sure that you own your traffic, which we've talked about in previous episodes is to make sure that you have the ability to be in contact with them other than the few minutes, the few seconds that they might spend on your website. So if you have an email, capture form, whether it's at the top of your website, or as you scroll down, or you can also make it so that as you're heading to the x-out button of that tab, you can have the subscriber capture form pop up then, or you can have it just pop up other times throughout, you'll see depending on the web host provider that you have.

1:01You can make sure that you're at least giving people the option to opt in to be in contact with you. And this is just an easy win if you're thinking to yourself, oh, but then I do I have to set up a newsletter, do I have to constantly be in contact with these people? You do not. It gives you the option to do that down the line, but for now, set that up easy win. You can do it on your website, you can have it be on your website, but you can also do it on a website like Be Hive, or on Substack, or many other email service providers. I think this is a very good tip, and the jokes on YouTube and Dales, because by the time this episode comes out, I will have fixed the problem. So go to our website and give us your email so we can send you a newsletter roundup every once in a while. Every once in a while. And you know, we'll respect you, and you're in box space, and it'll be cool stuff. So yeah, stay tuned for that, dailytipspodcast.com, what's that from? I know what it is.
