Someone just texted about this Ben Affleck tweet that you put out. Oh, I put a tweet out. Yeah. I haven't looked at it. I know I got some hits. So explain to explain to me because I was unfamiliar with this. Okay. Let's go. Let's see what I put. Oh, I said, thank you to Ben Affleck. Yeah. Oh, yeah. Yeah. I didn't realize I got 88,000 views. Thank you to Ben Affleck for going public about his 13-year-old son's request for money to gamble. And I just said, welcome to the world we live in.

4:10Gambling is ramping among our use. We talk about this every week. There's probably not a more responsible gaming platform than a numbers game. So, um, yeah, I always say every college in America has a gallon problem. I may be wrong. It might be worse than that. It may be. And some people came in and said, I see what was, what did Ben Affleck? What was his response? Okay. So what Ben Affleck did? He went on Jimmy Kimmel. Yeah, I think Jimmy Kimmel. Jimmy found Jimmy Kimmel. Did you get Jimmy Kimmel? He went on the show and he said, yeah, that's him on Kimmel. And he said, yeah, I can't believe this. Mike 13-year-old son just asked me for $100. He goes, that I need $100. I gotta gamble a little bit. And he's like, what? He's like, all my friends do it. They're 13. Yeah. I mean, all my friends do it at 13. Now, listen. Listen, it's real simple. They didn't grow up back home like we did on these coasts. Yeah, we did. I gamble when I was young. You know, some people were, I see a couple of comments. I only read the first five or six comments yesterday. And they were saying, Bill, big deal.

5:12Everyone gambles at a young age. Like, yeah, if you're, when we're back east, when we're kids, I understand. But to be real blunt, when we were back east as kids, our parents didn't want us gambling. Like Ben Affleck didn't want. That's right. It is some gambling. And yeah, those, let's call it inner cities where I lived. You know, and we lived in inner city areas, you know. You can even go on and on. I always talk about this. And I don't, I don't just mean the east coast is Detroit and Pittsburgh Cleveland. You can go on and on and throughout the Midwest and a lot of those cities that have bookmakers and stuff and a red light district back in the day. They had, but you had to be a certain type of person enamored in you. Well, a certain type of person. And it wasn't the, the access required you to be a certain type of person, right? To have, to have a bookie, to have the money. This is just, you know, it's on their phones. It's so, so listen, we talk about all kinds of things. Last week, we were talking about strippers for God's sakes. But we can also have, you know, two sides of the brain here, which Bill and I have talked about before.

6:13And I was just mentioning my, uh, Debra Song fashion stylist daughter, uh, Gracie, who I love. Gracie was talking about all her, her, you know, her buddies at school. She doesn't really talk about it. But every once in a while, it comes up and I'm like, wait, they, they bet. So all these dudes in like high school, right? You're talking about 13 year olds. Yeah. But everybody is, everybody, everybody. She certainly brings them. They're all betting on stuff. And I do think to myself, I'm like, as much as I have, listen, I get it. I love it. It's 24 seven. It's 365. It's my entire life. I'm immersed in it. But I am also able to then also say, yeah. But if you are doing it, if everyone is doing it that rampantly at such a young age, and this is maybe this main point, I've seen a financial advisor who has said the biggest scourge on this country. He says, is these young kids who are going to cut themselves off at the foot because they're losing money gambling? That was like a big viral tweet like last week from someone.

7:15Oh, you saw that as well. Yes. It's a he's dead on right. He's dead on right because that stuff is, it's ready compounds. And if you, if you don't know what you're doing and you keep cutting yourself, you know, whatever the expression is, that is going to have an impact that is immeasurable, immeasurable, and they don't know it. Bill, you said something there. So this is, Gracie is, how old is she? She's 19 now. Okay. What year was this when she was talking about gambling? This was just like two, three years ago. Okay. This is amazing. Yeah. Maybe you don't realize how amazing it is. This is a female talking to you at 16 years old about gambling going on amongst everyone. Yeah. This is like, what shot to the guy, the kids had the boys like this. And this, by the way, this is out here in California or is this an, I think this was in San Francisco. California. Yeah. This is where Ben Affleck's son. This is in California. Okay. Like, listen, all I'm saying is this is going on throughout America.

8:15Now listen. Now this is almost talking on both sides of our mouth. Yeah, I know we make our money gamble. I make my money. My, my, my base of my income comes from sports betting. That's where I make the most money. That's where I pay the most taxes on, on my sports betting more than any media stuff. So I know what I do and how hard it is for me to do it and how many different bloons in the air. I have to keep up in the air, bouncing them around and juggling, you know, that, and, and with the contacts and information that I have, that's ridiculous. What chance does the public have? What chance did these people that come out here and stare at your dreamers and say, I want to bet sports for a living? Now, I know I'm kind of all over the place. I'm going to go even further. What chance does a 15 year old kid or better yet Ben Affleck's son at 13 have? Just because they watch ESPN say, I can do this. Right. Wow. Look at the commercials, dad. Look at the commercials. They have little soft, brainy, you know, sponge-like brains at that age.

9:15Not evolved. Yeah. I can, are you kidding? You can bet on this. And then sure enough, they're, they're getting their birthday, my, their bar mitz for money that they're being given, being given. Yeah. They think, let me go into that because I can do this. Yeah. They're 13. And let me tell you something. Give me a break. All the companies that say, well, we have responsible gambling. Stop it. Come on. I don't care what you say. It doesn't matter. Kids are going to be kids. We were kids. You kids are going to be kids. I have said this all my show because I'm sure there's people listening to these two guys that were saying this. Are you kidding me? Yes. I had a son or a daughter who expressed an interest in betting. It would take me years of me seeing the acumen develop over time for me to be comfortable with that child then immersing him or herself into it. It takes years, right? You don't just, it's all right. Just because you watch ESPN, right, doesn't mean that you're going to be successful doing it. You really have to have it a keen interest in doing it and approach it the right way. And so I just, that Ben Affleck story resonated with me because I'm like, that's interesting that his son went in and that he had that kind of reaction.

10:22And what he said was the kids said that all my friends are betting. Yeah. He's like, what? This has nothing to do. People, I see people saying, well, the app all is on full far from the tree. Ben Affleck is worth hundreds of millions. So when Ben gambles and loses 20, 50, 100,000, it's like, me, are you losing 10 bucks? That's right. Five bucks. It's like, I was at the hard rock when he got walked out, by the way. Yeah. He got all you were there. I was there for card counting for card counting. I was staying there that night. Yeah. I didn't see him get walked out, but I was upstairs and I came down right after. That's another reason why you can't compare apples. Yeah. He actually knew some card counting, but he's still losing gambler. They should have let him gamble overall. People that want to say they count cards, the people that try to attempt to count cards, he was a most of them can count cards on my garage. By the way, he was a terrible card counter when it came to not being blatant about it. That was what the folks at the hard rock were saying at the time. Yeah. Like, he was so obvious about, oh, look, it's in my favor.

11:24Let me, you know, let me bet 10 times what I just did. Right. He went 50 to 500. Yeah. You know, you're only supposed to spread like three to one four to one from your original bet. And maybe he was making it a little too obvious. Yeah. Good for Ben Affleck. Yeah. I'm glad they said it on a nationwide show. Let everyone here. Let these companies hear it. And he, he knew he took the losing team so I could win it. Uh, chance copper pot. I'm in discord and there are younger folks in there. I'm always shocked how young some of them are and how much they bet they also openly admit they're using their parents or grandparents identity and money to do it. All six leg parlay. 100% happening everywhere on this discord. Oh, that's the other thing though. The parlay. I was explaining my buddy in DC because Tom, my buddy, Tom, he's making all these kinds of parlay. But I'm like, you know, those are, yeah, but, you know, I like that. Like, it's fun. But and you can't, by the way, no matter how it's not only me who sent it to him, it's the other smart people who are saying it to him.

15:31And it's just fun. Just enjoys doing it. You can't stop him. I told you this in this room on this show about, I don't know, maybe the beginning of a football season. I just, I waved the white towel. Yeah. I said, you know, everyone's going to go with. So I tend to say, if you're going to do it, just please, if you're going to put a hundred dollars on the game, please, the most you should put on one of those parlay's that you're going to, I should actually just call them sucker parlay's that you're going to put in to have some fun 10 bucks, five bucks, please, please, because I know what happens. I know what have, I know that this, you go down this spiral, you start chasing and chasing and chasing and say, maybe I can get out with, you know, one of these, one of these big five legs, six leg parlay's next thing. You know, it's bombs over Tokyo. I even went, I even went as far as you said, you'll remember this, where I said that the draft Kings and the Fandals of the world, that if they had not discovered the innovation of same game parlay's, their financial situation as companies would be vastly different. 16:32bet on these junk parlay apps with terrible odds, he said almost everyone, almost all under 18. This is middle of nowhere, Midwest, it's everywhere. Billy's right about this. And you know what, they are absolutely terrible parlay odds, you know, like, but, but the kids, they don't know anything about just like, guess what? Just like I didn't, right? I didn't know about that at 15, 16, 17, I didn't know I was an idiot going to the moment park, getting a trifecta and a 25% hold. I didn't know that either, though, anybody who says they were smart from the jump, they're lying. None of us were. Right. I said the same thing about the same game. Parlay's I go, listen, as long as you know, you're not getting the proper bang for your buck. And oh, by the way, when they say they're boosting, maybe they're just boosting back to what it ought to be. Really? Yeah. Really? And I'm going back to them. You said something like a couple tweets ago. I think it was chances, a chance cop or pot. So it's not the company's fault. If they have a legal person that's over 21 gambling, they don't know what's the kid gambling. It's the parents fault.

17:33Yes. I blame you. You see the charges on your credit card. You think it's harmless. You think it's no big deal. It's 150 bucks. 100 dollars. Yeah. Oh, it's at least just keeping them inside. He's not outside getting a fight. This turns into a black web spiral. Trust me. Trust me. This is going to happen. And you're going to look back at it five, 10 years from now and say, wow, what did I do? Bill Crackenberg, everybody Montreal Maxx. I was in eighth grade when my favorite teacher who also owned a tavern showed me my first football parlay card. And if you got jammed up later on at 20, it was on credit with a local book. Now these kids tap it out or doing it legally on credit cards. And that follows you. Well said. I can read. I can read more of these. This. Sure. You were talking about this latest betting thing that came out. Let me just read one more week. Yeah, because this is. Please. This guy is so right. Brian M. I remember playing AC Ducu, my older brother and his friends when I was eightish. Wow. Eight. At hockey tournaments. I've always been good with numbers.

18:34So single deck. I was pretty close to knowing exactly what was left. I cleaned up. Guess what? Brian, you're right. That was my board ball game that we played. And he, he got thrown on a trapper canner right away. So I knew something was going on. I'm only like 15, 14, 13. And AC Ducu, you're right. There was a math involved there. I did that. But I was also the same idiot that took that money and lost it at the racetrack or lost it on something else. It was so stupid. It was so dumb. So, but thank you for that reminding me. Going back to Ben Affleck, what were you saying? Even though I knew Mike was someone that we respected in the town and I knew his family very, very, you know, well, well known family, I still ignored him and you have to learn on your own. You're probably right. You probably have to learn on your own. Just hope it doesn't cost you that much.

20:38Well said. Bullet God free question. Do you miss hard rock? Gil. When you bring up the old hard rock days, you have, you seem so excited. Celtics might as two for three units tonight. And for me, as I said many times for me, no one taught me. It was just in me. Yeah. Right?

Dad's definitely had a different way of teaching things back then. And the May coach, May 17th, growing up in, uh, Kyoto Downs racetrack, I hope I was in there. Right. Picking up old tickets and checking them the next day, playing sports cards and running pools in high school. I'm sure I'd have been betting on betting apps by 13 years old. Oh, dude, me too. If those had existed, when we were kids, oh my God, I'd have figured out a way.

I can only think back to when every teen was smoking and every third ad was for cigarettes eventually after the proof was so overwhelming they had to stop the ads print warnings, et cetera. That's right. You know what I mean? Just come right out like like this. There's just no, they don't realize what they're, they're asking even if they thought about it a little more, they would say, wow, then I just asked that question. But to be honest with you, no, the answer's no, no, I don't know, but I want to tell you something. Yeah. I've never revealed before. The amount of times I was told something, Bill, this is a lock. This is really good information. This is unbelievable. I like, I can't believe how many times I have been on the bed. I just think I brought this up before. Not just not my horse race tips.

31:57on 25, even half a yard, they put it right in your account because they want you back in action again. All the sports books, all those big books do this. So the Vegas books don't do that. They wait till after the game. I don't know if it's a Vegas rule or a gaming rule. That's the reason why you have to wait till the, you know, the 16, the 60 minutes is over or something. There's, so I don't know the actual legal answer to that, Joe, I see Joe, Joe, I don't know the legal answer to that. But it is interesting because that 24 and a half, that can go backwards. Okay. He could, Luke, get my right. You know, especially you're betting like a, I'll use the best thing I'll use as my home super role. When he's taking these, that's right. You know, so did they pay and now at the end of the game, they're taking it back, I guess, because it's interesting. I'm also, that's like a good gambling nuance thing that we haven't gotten into, which is certain outs you have, whether it's offshore or whether it's a skin, whatever it is. If you lose something, man, that thing disappears out of your account real quick. But if you win, boy, do they take their time, cash that for you?

33:00Yeah. Boy, what is the grading take a while? Yeah. There's always that. Yeah. There's a state by state rule laws. And I'm using all casinos, not picking on anybody individual. They just want you to come in and lose your money like a sucker. The sports books are the same thing. You lose. You're welcome to anything. You're in the casino. Yeah. We'll give you a comp's room shows. Hey, how you doing, Mr. C, Mr. B, Mr. G, I, you know, come and don't give them a play that trip. Well, what happened here? Well, I mean, you didn't, you didn't give us no play when, you know, you didn't lose no money. It's all about losing money too. Almost hits me to John right in front of me and says, I got him any time. Touchdown. Oh, yeah.

42:20And I can't say any that you can't, like, and by the way, these guys look up to me. And they're like, you know, Bill, which I, and I can't tell them that any time touchdowns a giant sucker bet. I mean, they're giant sucker bets, they're, they're betting into a pool that's double digit house edge. But I, of course, I'll let them have fun and, but trust me, these people are above having fun. You know, this is, this is, this is get serious. Um, a guy, one of the guys in there, hey, can you help me out? I lost every week. You know, I was every week, man, and he goes, uh, can you help me out? Can you, can you, uh, maybe look at my account and give me some props to bet? And, um, I said, yeah, you got to post up and he said, well, could you post the money? I said, wait a minute. Want me to post the money? What? He goes, yeah, if you put the money up, I, maybe we could do something together. I, you know, I said, do you want me to give you a little free roll or something on the account? So I, I did, I posted up some money to have some fun with the guy. And I'm going to make a bet. It was a cook under, I think it was cook under it. It was, it was on Buffalo. So under 81 yards, and I made, uh, eight prop bets in his account.

43:23And I'm telling him as I'm going along, we're going to bet under this, because this is a really good line. It's 80. It's like 76 and a half. They have 83 and a half. We were like, I'm under any stop me. He's like, oh, I, I like him. I think it's James Cook. I like him. I like that guy. I think he's going to have a big game because I don't want to, don't put that one in as whole. Oh, I put the money up. You just told me we need help the whole season. Wow. We're, we're nine bets in.
