The numbers told the story of the Alex now swandles idiots who believe in analytics. This is a numbers game with Gill I like Xander gone decent. Good Wednesday morning to you. This is a numbers game at Visa and these sports betting at where Veson dot com game plus I heart radio YouTube TV series except channel 158 Gill I like Xander Kelly Biddle it alongside everybody on this Wednesday morning what are we talking here four days before Super Bowl 60. That's right man. That's right one day before it fell awards are announced. Let's go. We're getting to the business it. Not quite yet but we're going to visit by the way just like five seconds before the show. I was going to I had no idea this was happening. Do you hear about the Washington Post sports section? I saw I saw that massive layoffs were coming yesterday. This is so not only massive layoffs. The Washington Post says the paper will be closing its entire sports and plans to cover sports only as a cultural phenomenon. We plan to

retain several reporters to join features and cover sports through their details. Yeah. For this won't mean a lot to a lot of people but for those of us who grew up in Washington DC I grew up on Will Bonn and Cornheiser writing writing columns. Christine Brennan Tom Boswell who's an icon in horse racing. Norman Chad John Feinstein. He's an arguably the greatest sports section in terms of writers that has ever existed in a great place to grow up if you're into sports and it is a couple. Yeah. And what one of the best sports media town's period. I mean I've worked with more people that have made stops in Washington DC at some point. Dave Ross. Yeah. Then about any other city. So it's sad kill. I mean I had to go through some of that with local news. He just sports is they can't afford it. Man is kind of like a lot of people who have been in the earth the athletic right that was why the athletics

started it was because a lot of papers were chopping local sports and the athletic saw that they could grab some of the better reporters and writers from around the country from local new local outlets and pull them into a more national outlet. It's a shame though, I still think kind of you're talking about it's always local sports and regional sports in the end of an era. Wow. That's a that's a bitter pill to swallow here five minutes before the show as for a current. And what's happening now by the way on the show today will hill will join us all his bets of the host of the should a bit more podcast. We do a megapod today. Rufus P bodies are guests for the super bowl. Megapod coming up a little later on. Not divert now he's diverting the plate. He was actually airborne and he said turn this plate around. I heard he's going to waste management later today, which you will have plays on yes Phoenix open as they call Nick way a little Jonas Warren sharp Todd wish Dev. Who'd I forget

a whole bunch of folks Greg Peter sent with his fat five we got everybody coming on the show today. Um tennis real quick we had one pick that laid over from the previous day was a big dog on sonate car Toligan's Berlin to Benchich waited 36 hours for this match to happen and then 15 minutes before the match starts. Yeah. So everybody gets their running back. Yeah. Cartel goes ahead and then proceeds to crush the the lucky loser ran out of Sarasuo. She ended up playing but I was looking forward to that one. So we don't have a tennis play. But I don't have any here moving forward. I did add to the Seahawks minus four and a half. I played them a couple times now on alt lines. This was inspired by Mike summit showing up here yesterday and saying that he was doing it. That was the first sort of thing that made me think maybe I should do it then I went ahead and I did it too. And you did it as well. Oh you did. I laid seven and a half. You laid seven and a half. I did seven and a half and ten and a half.

Uh but in preparation for the Megapod today I listened to last years Megapod uh Super Bowl Megapod and on that show. I said something so me Todd and Will all had the chiefs versus the Eagles last year in the Super Bowl. Super Bowl. I had on that podcast and I think I said on the two weeks of a numbers game leading up to that Super Bowl was. But if we're all on the chiefs but if I came to you for the future and I said one of these two teams blew out the other. What's our answer yeah and all three of us said the Eagles will blow out the Chiefs and that's what ended up happening now was I smart enough to take my own leading question and change my pre-fought play. I was not yeah but in this case Super Bowl the emphatic answer is exactly the team I bet on the Seattle Seahawks if there is to be a blowout it is the Seahawks that will do the blowing out in my opinion. Yeah completely agree. I also think that's a perfect way to word it because I'm not like yeah it's multiple bets for me. I am not going to speak for you but I'm

not like in heavy heavy it's just I wanted to spread it out and I think there's a blowout situation here. So plus money on both of those. Uh the big news here uh a little more than the positive. Maybe by the time we get through talking about these other three trades the honest will get traded by the time we finish the second. Yeah maybe. I don't know but there were a few trades yesterday in the NBA to varying you know betting implications if you have pre-existing conviction if you will. I believe that's a medical term uh Celtics acquired a colabusovic in a trade with the bulls uh sources told shoms to rody over there at ESPN and in return I am pretty sure that in return I am pretty Simon's goes from Boston to Chicago this so. This is a trade in the Celtics from the Celtics standpoint it's about the playoffs it's about them thinking that Simon's a defensive liability in the playoffs even though he plays very well by the way if you look at advanced stats in terms him being on the court he

actually does really well on the court in terms of plus minus uh but in the playoffs he's probably a defensive opponent but they think he's a little more reliable than say Luca Garza who they bring in uh to play uh as one of their big so the Celtics making a bit of a playoff-ish trade right there boost of it for uh Simon's there was a three-way trade Chicago Minnesota and Detroit multi-team deal that sends Jade and Ivy and Mike Conley to the bulls Conley and his latter days here after a great career goes to the bulls the bulls hoping that from his performance this season remember his performance this season comes after he broke his leg so they're counting on Jade and Ivy sort of bouncing back in his career the big thing on the piston side is they get sorry sorry it just keeps getting moved but they get Kevin Werder who has been a great three-point shooter in the past um not not as great this year but what the pistons the pistons who

lead the eastern conference starts um the pistons one weekend this is three-point shooting and so they're hoping that Werder the Maryland product can actually help them in that category pistons also get a 2026 first-round projected swap from Minnesota in the deal and Minnesota has a tough schedule down the stretch so they're hoping that that pick actually improves as time goes on so that's what Detroit is thinking there give us some three-point help as we get into the postseason there is the jazz acquired Jaron Jackson Jr defensive player of the year or year to removed here for Jaron Jackson Jr who once uh once he had to log more minutes on you know on the court with injuries elsewhere on the team not quite as good defensively or quite frankly offensively as he has been but the jazz hoping that Jaron Jackson Jr can regain his elite form part of an eight-player trade by the way um Memphis is trying to just give this is

dead this started with Desmond Bane getting traded last year now it's Jaron Jackson Jr what's of note is that nobody wants to make a deal like this for John Morant let's put that let's put out that out there that hasn't happened yet um but in the deal Memphis gets three first round picks along with rookie guard Walter Clayton Jr famously of a national champion Florida Gators who they hope has a fine career and uh the jazz also has some players as well in addition to that but those are the big names in that trade and that to me if you look at so Memphis trying to unload salary try to get caps based really rebuild restart from the beginning whereas Utah if you look forward I guess Kelly uh market in junior Keonte George great building Walker Kessler Jaron Jackson Jr yep they didn't even have to move Ace Bayley still there that's a pretty good starting for a team like that that no one wants to go to in free agency so you have to make a trade like that

for Jaron Jackson that's a great call that is a great call the trade versus free agent yeah look y'all this is could things change today for sure right now to me that's the biggest trade I don't even really think it's close and it's it has nothing to do with this year right it's the fact that the Utah Jazz enter this off season and this is a pretty great trade for a defensive player of the year regular candidate in his prime I mean before his prime even uh what you're in Jackson junior and then you've got larry marketing who's just been sitting tight kind of waiting for this franchise to catch up Keonte George a hell of a fine this year uh see what happens with Ace Bayley. He's going to get a chance to trade for a defensive player of the year uh see what happens with Ace Bayley. Maybe he develops into something that is a incredible starting point for you to add stuff to this off season. Now

to the ones this season. Do you think there are there. We just did hardwood handicapers myself Jonathan Von Toblin sat Cohen go check that out before you go here. Let's add of course the biggest name that got traded yesterday was Harden. James Harden goes to the Cleveland Cavaliers and um the multiple toe injured. Derrius Garland goes in the next year. I'm just going to finish with Memphis and this is clear for if you're betting the NBA rest of the season clear signal from Memphis on what they plan to do right. This is all about the draft this year next year upcoming years. The full tank mode we just talked about a JVT said it wait to see if the market even catches up on Memphis. I don't even know if they're going to be able to rate this tonight tonight basis so wanted to get that out of the way quick. We just wanted to get that out of the way. I can confidently say that you'll only because of how much time Derrius Garland's missed. Does he really I don't is up is he a player that's going to make a significant

impact in the Eastern conference race. I don't know. I don't know. I don't think they became the best team in the East today. I still think that's the new shape is hard one. I'm just curious. Yeah zero and major well documented struggles in the playoffs right which is fair. I think you could read into this multiple games or is he going to come in and add another dimension to this team which I think he will make the bigs better on that team offensive which could be great. Is there enough balls to go around them? Don't have a Mitchell and James Harden are not used to not having the ball run through that. So I don't know. It's going to be interesting. It's a wait and see for me with that. Pistons Celtics. That's the windy finger still right. What's going on in Detroit and Chicago because this cannot be the end game. Well, the next game is going to be the end game. I'm going to be making room here for yana. Perhaps we shall see. Well next you're here because you want an edge. That's what separates listeners from winners but let's be real mindset

alone doesn't get bets home pros win because they've got the tools the data and the discipline. And now so can you. Visa program is you access to the same real time insights the sharps use. No secrets no fluff just actionable experience and to be the most experienced in the world. you You You You You You You You You You You You You You You You You You You You ticket at 33 to one, grab Charlotte 81 for the Eastern conference. Am I buzzed a little high or under Jason's cloud of smoke high? Good rating scale, by the way. Well, Gil, I don't know if you saw yesterday, but the old hornets popped up with a report for a big involved in the yadis race. Now, I'm going to go with like every team in the

NBA besides like four send-in trade proposals. So that one just probably got leaked. What are my options again? I'm going to go a little high. A little high. Yeah, it was buzzed a little high Jason cloud of smoke high. Yeah, look you're con rookie. The year ticket's not dead. It's not dead. That's the most likely of anything to hit. I'll go with that. Okay. Jesse Welch. Good morning, fellas. Can we please kick off the show today with an update on JVT's shuttle ride in the exact layout of radio row? Let's win this Pulitzer today. That's my comment yesterday. We weren't going to win the Pulitzer yesterday. Brosek 1870 only through the first 30 minutes of the lifestyle pod. Not sure I want to even win a free trip to Vegas at this point. I'm kidding. Sure, the rest of the pod will convince me. Oh, no, we we start the love letter from Vegas starts at that point where you are. It was ugly early that we got into good stuff from Vegas. Bobby Gettys regarding by the way, Bobby Gettys, thank you for our golf. What are we calling posters? Yeah, thank you for that. Bobby Gettys, regarding our three segment three of the show yesterday, let me make sure I followed. So Gil refused to go to San Francisco for Super Bowl media week. And JVT has taken a shuttle bus an hour to acquire Glacier Cherry Gatorade. Pretty sure that's right. Yeah, that's that checks out. I think it's

we just need 45 minutes to confirm where media day actually was. Okay, that once we got that day, we were off and off and rolling. We were we were slogged by that yesterday. Miami Dade Florida, Bezos had to get rid of the sports section to pay for the Melania documentary. He says that was his joke about you. I'm reeling about the washing of post sports section. It's messed up, man. Yeah, you and I were just talking about it. So if I grew up now, I would never have ended up with this life. Like I would never have been inspired by not at all. It's incredible. Kevin Ryan, Gil, I have found that when who's Peterson releases an under, if it's based on good defense and poor shooting, taking either the poor shooting team's total under in the first half or just an under in the first half, it's been hitting 68%. Wow. Wow. There you go. And Colin Murphy, I know Utah has the top eight protected pick, but when but they one last night in Dallas, Cologne, St. Portland, all lost, Bandal has 500 to one for Utah to make a play in. I seriously think they accidentally put an extra zero on this prize. Memphis clearly tanking her reference draftings as 51, which I think makes more sense. All right. Well, first, I mean, if you get a 200 to one with 50 ones out there, I'm not going to yell

you, I did try to put a JVT and Zach's feet to the fire with this or like, yeah, pull up the Western comfort standings. And you will see the, I mean, start Memphis Grizzlies on the first team in the outside looking in. They're three and a half games back from the LA Clippers. Is it possible? And of course, those both of us guys said, no, because what I said, the first segment, Memphis is just going to be losing here on out. Unfortunately, unless it's the Dallas Mavericks, getting all their stuff together here down the stretch, there's not really a team. I think that is going to push out one of the top 10 teams in the West, but it's fair to know. Will Hill joins us now courtesy of the progressive guest line. He is the host of the should have met more podcast also star of the Megapod as well. In addition to doing, of course, a bevy of hosting here at the network. Will joins us from the state of Connecticut. How you know, Will? Boys, what's going on? Yeah, needing a little extra security that should have had more podcasts yesterday. Big star, Kelly Bidlin joined the podcast. Extra security paparazzi. It was a, it was a scene big time velvet ropes. I've done every podcast on the network basically the past 24 hours. Happy? Long shots, hardwood handicapers should have been more open

for more invites. We're on the Megapod. No, wasn't, wasn't invited. Wasn't invited. Well, Rufus parachuting right now. Yeah, to be honest, still this plane. All right, Will, we've got a lot to get to here. One, let's start with best is we're just talking basketball. Let's start there. You have some conviction on this yon as thing. What do you got? I don't think he's getting traded. I thought even from the time that the report started a week or so ago, maybe 60, 40 he stays. I'm starting to think more stronger and stronger that he stays just because there's a lot of things you have to satisfy here with the trade. You have to trade enough to Milwaukee to make it worth it for them. That's not easy. You need to also trade a lot to Milwaukee and still have enough to win a title, which if you're not a title team, he doesn't want to go there. You don't really want him. So these talks are like, oh, Miami, they can just empty the piggy bank and bring in Yannis. Who is Yannis playing with? What's the point of them leaving Milwaukee? He's just going from one crappy team to another crappy team where he's all by himself. Maybe he's just a warmer weather. Plus, you throw in the fact, Yannis is hurt right now. So it's not like you're going to make this godfather offer. You're going to trade all this stuff. Well, he's dealing with a calf injury and he

you know, he's 30, he actually gets hurt. I think a lot more than people realize. And he's hurt right now. So he's not helping you tonight or this week or maybe next week, he's out for a decent bit here. So if you got a couple players going out the door, you don't really have anything coming in the door. So look, I mean, who knows? We'll see him trade here in the next 20 minutes. So this all sounds stupid. But I actually think that's the prediction markets. He's like, minus 200 to stay. I think that's actually a pretty good bet. You're not tying up your money for that long. The deadlines, what tomorrow afternoon, Thursday afternoon, sometime, I actually think that's a reasonably good bet for for Yannis to stay. Keep in mind, I don't have these markets here in Connecticut. But make sure you check the wording because some of these with these times, it's like next game, this player plays for like who's the next, you know, who's the next team he plays for? And I don't think he plays again for Milwaukee, just because even if he's healthy, Milwaukee's going to tank at some point, but I think he's staying. I don't think these offers make a ton of sense. The Warriors offer, the T wolves make Daniels and picks. That's what you're trading them for. I just think they're better off waiting in the summer. And somebody gets this point in the

playoffs. And that's the route they go. See, I think everything you're saying is right. I still think the Warriors clear all those hurdles. I think that's the one team that clears the hurdles you just mentioned. I just know I don't think anything change with that. The one thing with that, that is the best offer because those picks are down the road. And you could see the pathway. Yannis doesn't stay with Golden State's death for tires. And those picks are gold. If you're a GM though, does that help me soon enough? Like am I am I not fired by the time those picks to come to fruition? Because they don't, Milwaukee doesn't have any of their stuff going forward, which is another rank on this. Their picks are out the door. Basically, they don't control their pick. I think until 2031 Kelly probably knows. But if I'm getting the Warrior stuff three, four or five years down the road, if I'm a GM now, I just I'm not going to win enough games to stay around and be, you know, be able to enjoy those picks. So survival sometimes for these, these GMs is the way they approach it. Alright, so the bucks, the bucks, the honest to remain with the bucks, minus 200 ish, minus 123, minus 123, pardon me, let's get it out here, minus 123 or prediction markets, although in the 20 minutes following Will segment, it's a big plus money price is what happens. That's

what I think they're going to have that market 20 minutes after Will's appearance, just just a duck on Will, where there we go with training it right now, we shall see again, little more than 24 hours before the trade deadline. And we've had two speculative things off air. One is, well, if they were going to trade them when they have traded them by now, followed by well, or they're still milking everything they can possibly get out of all these suitors, who knows, who knows, college hoops, you have a plate of night. A seat hovers, Villanova, I'll take the seat hole. I think seven and a half is the best number now. I think the eights have all disappeared. Villanova plays at a very slow pace, 350 second in the country, seat and hall 13th best defense in Ken Palm. I think lower possession game, close, low scoring, seat and hall is kind of a grinder team and seat and hall, we're at that point now where you start to think about bubble teams in February, seat and hall probably on the outside looking in, they need some style points, some resume points. So I think you'll get a good effort from from seat and hall here. Amazing to think, Gilly. This is not your father's biggest. It's possible. The biggest only gets three teams in with you,

con, St. John's and Nova. I don't think Creighton's getting in seat and hall would be the fourth. This is a times of change here in college basketball. But I do like seat and hall here plus the point. I still have to take a pause with some tables like what conference are they in again? Like, you know, I know it's still in multiple sports, by the way. Okay, two Super Bowl 60, four days away, remind everybody what you're betting, what have you added since the last time we spoke? Yeah, it's just weird to have a Super Bowl where the Vikings are not in it. It's a little depressing to not have the Vikings in and just not you, just not used to it. Yeah, I like, I like Ken Walker under rushing yards. This has been given out. I think Warren Sharp gave it out on your show. The more you look into this Patriots, you can poke holes in their path. You can't really poke holes in their run defense. They've been dominated against the Broncos, the Texans, the chargers, all their lead backs under three yards per carry, Texans 48 rushing yards of team. So Walker getting in the mid seven years or so, I think is unlikely. I like the under, of course, you could always win an injury. Game script gets away from you. So I like the under. And I have heard too, I'm trying to be careful here because I'm trying to think what was said on the air and what was said off the air. But I have heard that Patriots practice the

screen game has been a point of emphasis in that Trevi on Henderson could be more involved than people might think. He's got a really low receiving yard number like two and a half is what I saw two and a half, three and a half, something like that. I like the over there he caught a pass against the chargers caught one against the Texans. Seattle brings a lot of pressure. You could see that being a situation where Drake may get him some easy throws, take some of the pressure off him and you dump it off the Henderson. So I like that to the low number and I'll give you one. Matt humans brought this up. I think this is a circle. This is not one I have access to, but points for creativity. We're all talking about the same bets. Will the final score of the Super Bowl match any previous Super Bowl final score? So you get access to 59 games. I went back and looked, there's only been one repeat score, 27 17. So you get 58 scores here, plus 400 for the yes, that's to me a fun one and again, points for creativity because that's one I guess you just, you have action the whole game, it starts to get close to the end of the game. And you look and you're just kind of in the mix, you start to root for certain scores. So again, that is a clever one they came up with. 27 17 skins Dolphins

was a 27 17 and Super Bowl 17. I'm trying to name the other one was a day. I think Steelers Cowboys, maybe I was going to say Steelers, the 95 one still the Larry Brown one, Steelers Cowboys, yeah, 27 17. Those are the two that weird how like you your brain is etched like certain things. I can tell you every place I was what where I was watching every Super Bowl such a strange thing that happens in your brain. Can I can I tell you that for anything else? No, can't can name every world series champ going back in time, but can't name every Super Bowl champ necessarily year by year. He's very odd thing with our sports brains. Will I'll see you in a couple hours for the megapod sir. The honest has been traded breaking news. See, don't say that because people are not traded. Not traded. Breaking news back breaking back news. Not traded. Thank you, Will appreciate it. We'll come back a little country club Phoenix Open next. A numbers game on FISA. Check it out. We had tweets be to the book. These are always always fast. They picked 10, by the way, says, I guess we won't be seeing this from the Memphis Grizzlies in the near future. He's pointing back to a May 11th 2022 game where the Grizzlies beat the Warriors by 39 points and led by as many as 55, the second largest lead in a playoff game in the last 25 years. That was the 2022 playoffs.

Was that also a series that there was that also the series where Golden State beat them in that in that playoff series. Of course though, I like how we focus on one game when the gold state whacked them, but he does harken back to a time period where remember there were two seasons where the Grizzlies won 50 games back to back. Remember when the Grizzlies were a thing. Yeah. That was fun. So part quick. You sure did. Moody, Danny Moody. I have assigned Tony Cornhyzer studio photo. He sent me almost 20 years ago while it has no monetary value because it shows stinks. That's what Cornhyzer says by show stinks. But it's still something I will always hold close to me. Maybe now on Fridays, you can have an horn a day on to discuss film. I guess that's his film. Great. Just a thought because your show is way too much sports and not enough olives. Rack me. I'm out. There's a lot of Cornhyzer references in there. A lot of Cornhyzer references. And again, RIP, Washington Post Board section. Again, for those of us who grew up in that part of the country, this is a cataclysmic thing. Here's one from Uncle Bush. Now, I am not betting my tennis

at Calche, but he says, can you do a quick PSA with more exposure to the likes of Calche and similar prediction markets that with canceled bets, such as last night with benches of cartel, your refund is what the market closed at. Not your original stake. Are you suggesting that if you if the market closes better, then you bet it, you're getting more than your original stake back in a refund. And if it closes worse, you're getting less than your original stake. Is that a thing? I don't only think about this by the way. Yeah, I don't know. This is news to me. Sounds sounds like it can't be sounds off. This is what me and Gilla, I think yeah, got to it during the break, but I don't know. I don't know. I haven't encountered that situation there yet. Ice Goon. Hey, Gill and Kelly, we always we always see Greg being all business up top with a coat and top. But we never get to see what down low is like. We need them to stand up so we can see if he's wearing shorts or slacks. I don't know if I will see that. Hey, ice Goon, that's not that kind of show, man. What are we? What are we doing? What are we doing? All right, now I'm going to get my camera out because I want to see if these guys are doing glow

sticks today, right? Oh, okay, good. You set it up. I got an MBA update. Oh, okay. Chris Mannix from SI, who's been really covering the Yannis stuff past couple days, closely, but obviously we've been covering the NBA for a long time. If you were familiar with his work. Okay, so bucks and wolves update bucks want Jay to make Daniels multiple first round picks a potential Yannis deal to wolves without getting another team involved. Minnesota has no first to trade a deadline could only offer one unprotected first round swap in 2028 update to this multiple teams have told bucks they will have better Yannis offers in off season. Wolves are pressing to deal before deadline. Quote, they don't want to get into a bidding war before the draft, which they call that checks out. We said that about a bunch of the Eastern conference teams. And yeah, the wolves want to get this done now. They're not in a situation to contend better in the all season. Ladies and gentlemen, let's go country club. And let's do it.

All right, there we go. I have the video. Now, what do I do? I send it to you and you'll get it on the air for us. Yeah. This is what we love. This is what Kelly and I look at during country club in the intro. Nice job, guys, with the glow sticks back there. Yeah, we have a crew with glow sticks. By the way, just out of curiosity, do you guys use those glow sticks on any other segment during the day on any other show? Should we feel jealous about that? Never. Chris says never, never killed there. We don't do that. It always sounds like Chris is shooting a fade away jump shot when he talks. I don't know, he hits his mic button. And he's like, never, never killed. All right, waste management open. Otherwise known as the Phoenix open, this is the one golf tournament where Rufus turns the plane around to come to the megapod. But other than that, it's the one golf tournament where people are going ballistic. Yeah. This is the sort of tried and true tradition tradition of Super Bowl week, where the TPC Scottsdale goes buck wild. Folks are like spit art, what a spray and beers of everybody. Shotgun beers, it's

rowdy. They encourage it. Of course, every year, this backfire is a little bit guilty for multiple reasons. First of all, this is a, this isn't a vet in a course. It's good. It's set up, guess what, 15 last 19 years, scoring margin has been one stroke and has included eight playoffs. So if you are making Super Bowl plans around the waste management, just keep that in mind. This is great event as this is. I think the one thing they fail on is getting everybody out on time, but consistently every year to get ready for the Super Bowl. So something to keep in mind for Sunday. Yes, there is the routiness is encouraged. I say backfires every year, because there's always like two or three guys that are like, it's gone out of control. It's gone out. You're like, you can't have both. He can have it both ways, man. Either you want a party and you just got to let happen, whatever's going to happen, or you got to make this into a real golf tournament, where everybody's getting quiet. So I don't know. Let's see. I doubt anything changes going forward. The majority of people have a great time. Majority of the, uh, the golfers love playing in this too. There are certain guys like Billy Horsel. I think it was reading yesterday. He's never missed

the green at the par three sixteenths. And it's like the some of these guys to live for this stuff. That's what it goes into the club house. No, the huge stadium like it's just the stands all the way around. Right. Just a full party. Um, so yeah, like it's just, but some of these guys actually do get up for this. Uh, it is look at look at that gap between Sheffler and the field. It's crazy to 25 on Shefford down to Sandra Shoffley at 19 to one and kill away. I sat up here. What was it two weeks ago, three weeks ago, and ever Sheffler won at the Ambex. We talked about how that course would raise the floor of everybody else involved. And it was not exactly a course that I was looking to bet Scotty Sheffler at, right? This is the exact opposite. This is a Scotty Sheffler course. You need to be long and accurate off the tee. You got to be dialed in with your approach game. Bonnie doesn't matter as much here as it does with some of the other courses that these guys will play. This is a Scotty Sheffler course. The plus two 25 is absolutely worth a warranted on him as a outright price. And if you wanted to bet that, I cannot knock you as you know, I usually go elsewhere with it. And that's what I did this week. So minus 158 to finish top five. It's

crazy. I've got I do have a Sheffler bet. I haven't made it yet. I will be betting Shefford this week. I'm going to be betting him first round leader did bet did have a great great pod yesterday with Byron Linda Q has been on the show before jumped on his golf podcast. We were going through a lot of the first round leader like history. Byron does a great job with this stuff. Scotty Sheffler over last year 3.6 strokes gained over the field in the first round of tournaments. It's insane what he's doing consistently in the first rounds of tournaments. So I'm going to play him. I think first round leader, you can find like 10 to 1. I'm going to play Scotty that way and hopefully not have to worry about him. The interesting thing about that would be the times where he does not do well in the first round. Then what happens? That was my exact follow up question. I wouldn't have wouldn't have enough details on that for me to tell you, but man, you just you just put the four rounds next to each other and what he consistently does round number one, man, by far the most. So let's see if you're handicapping at home, you got three par fives are going to have to score on again. You're looking for guys

are longer off the tee. Great approach players around the green matters more here than what you're going to kind of just hear for most people that are betting golf. You're going to hear about everything about the long drives and off the tee around the green though matters a little bit more than I think people want to admit. I factored it more into my numbers this year than I have in years past. Also turn a course history fourth most predictive golf course that they're playing at this week. That's some most I can. Yeah, change my numbers a little bit this year. Guil factor that in more than I have in the past. So masters like gust of being number one. Yeah. So the the way that I chose to attack this, you can go winner without mark. There's plenty of ways to bet golf in the Scotty Shepherd world, right? You can bet Shepherd you can bet winner without markets. If you want to do that, the problem is, Gil, we've talked about this before. Winner without I think it's fine. If you don't bet golf often, you want to fire a couple that this week while you're enjoying the Super Bowl, go ahead. I would I would suggest the winner without market to take some of that mental stress away from you. If you're doing this every week, the problem is you go to compare outright prices to what the winner without numbers. And you're almost always going to be able to find

significantly better outright prices than what you're getting offered with the winner without because those are only at specific shops that are working off their same numbers in the outright markets. So I landed on three others. What I'm going to do is like I've been a bet Scotty Shuffleverse round leader. I am also staking down on any of my outright bets. This is kind of first turn into the year much more into these top 10s and 20s that I have bet on the outright. So Cameron Young 26 to one Maverick McNeely 37 to one Chris got her up 41 right back to it with McNeely and got her up bet them last week carrying that over right right right again. Tenth of the farmers for Maverick McNeely finished T24 at the Sony Open. I'm very high on him this year. Great off the tee. Great on approach six best putting over this last 36 rounds for people in this field. Finished T9 and T6 year the last two years. I think McNeely sets up well for this bet him top 10 and an outright Chris got her up. Miss cut here in two starts is only started here to two times. Game fits great here. So long off the tee. He's been great this season

already. One at Sony T18 last week. I think this could set up well for Chris got her up again to have a big tournament. So 41 the outright market and a top 20 on him. And then Kim Young who showed up played his first event last week but sets up really well for this course. We'll wrap that up on the other side. didn't get a chance to finish up with your waste management open. Yeah, just a rattle through the last ones remaining again outright on Cameron Young Maverick McNeely Chris got her up and then played top 10s on Young McNeely and I played a top 20 on God or I'm going to add a top 10 for him though as well. Right back to it with Jake nap in Pearson Cody this week in the top 20 market. Nap was man he was like six seventh highest rating golfer for me this week T five last week the farmers T 11 at the Sony is a great par four and par five score. Really like where his games at right now going right back to a top 20 with him and Pearson Cody as well. This is no reason to stop now. Gilly's got season so far is T two T 18 and T 13 all three starts this season. So this guy's on fire. He's long off the tee. Game should set up well here. You might notice one name on their guild and I don't bet very often Ricky Fowler. Yeah, he ended up rating out very highly for me. I think caught me West and Matt all little by surprise that how well he rated out. So I went and added a top 20 on him

this morning at plus 160 and then Daniel burger or a buddy to finish it off top 40 minus 135 same old story with burger. He's great off the tee right now. He's great on approach. Got a hope for the short game to show up. But this isn't event he's found some success at the last couple years to two last year T 28 and 2024. Maverick. We can really Taylor Pendrith and Pearson Cody. Please meet Daniel burger. Just want to have that. What was your Scotty Shuffler? Wait a bit. You said something. Did you do throw that in already? Scotty Shuffler. I'm going to bet first round leader. Oh, I'm going to shop around a little bit today. I'll do it before the end of the show. Okay. Ladies and gentlemen, no Taylor Pendrith. That's a little screwed up. What's that? No, Taylor Pendrith. Pendrith should say Maverick. Me nearly on top 10. Yeah. Okay. So X Taylor Pendrith out Maverick. Me nearly should be on their top 10 in addition to outright for Kelly. He's a fan favorite. Ladies and gentlemen, he's one of our favorites. It's here to talk college basketball with us. Greg Peterson. Part of the whole glue that holds this whole operation together. G unit underscore 81 is where you can find him on Twitter. He comes to us courtesy of the progressive guest line. He is the host of not one

but two podcasts coast to coast hoops and the baseball betting podcast, which starts when Greg has it already started. It is not started yet. First day of the baseball season, you'll be getting picks an analysis every single game every single day. In terms of baseball season, I do exclude spring training though. If you're betting every single game every single day in spring training, man, you're an educated soul. Or you know some stuff. One another. All right. I have three things to cover before we get to your fab five. Wow. Two of them are from listeners. One before you came on air and you have agreed to do this. Icegood says, Hey, Gilly, we we always see that Greg is business up top. But we never get to see if he's wearing shorts or slacks. You have agreed to a blotch. Let's see it. What are we doing? All right, let's see here. I need to angle the camera here. I'll just stand off. But that said, we are wearing whole slack right here. So these are great pants. So in case we thought that I was wearing

like shorts or I was trying to do this all for like a zoom collar or something like that. No, we actually go with the entire suit, including the bottom. If I need to go out and be in studio in 30 minutes, I'd be there in 30 minutes. Greg, I am honestly more impressed by that than you wearing a jacket. You know what? The jacket gets overblown sometimes. Not that hard to throw on a jacket. I'd be wearing gym shorts underneath there. Amazing. Very impressive. Here's one. And I'm glad I got reminded of this because I saw this yesterday, respect the process says, did you hear the coaches ran? He's referring to Doug Gottlieb from Wisconsin Green Bay about Ken Palm. If so, your thoughts, did you see that, Greg? And what are your thoughts? Oh, I absolutely did. And I responded on the old Twitter size X and Doug Gottlieb was saying, Hey, if the rising leg and the Mac kind of challenge, the horizon leg would be right there. Well, I took the luxury of taking a look at things and adding up. Oh, how did the rising leg do against the Mac this year? 712 straight up, baby. So yeah, I disagree with Mr. Doug

Gottlieb where he's saying, Oh, it takes into account the amount that you lost by. Of course, it does because losing by one point is not the same as losing by 100. And well, for UW Green Bay, that really rough start to the season and so many other rising leg teams, he was trying to make the argument that the rising leg is a better leg than what it is. And I'm someone that grew up in the great state of Wisconsin. So I grew up next to Green Bay, next to Milwaukee, the rising leg is not on par with a lot of these conferences like the Mac. I am sorry, Mr. Doug Gottlieb. And he's actually done a really good job with UW Green Bay this year, by the way. I will give him credit, but I do not agree with that rant. So he finally he lost the Fox gig. He's just exclusively college hoops now, right? If I'm not mistaken. Yes, or yes. And that was the very correct decision by him. Yeah, by the way, not lost. He decided, I guess. Oh, good. I think I think that's correct. I don't know if that's true, but he's just doing one of them. Um, okay. Thank you for a deal. By the way, I would agree with you. I think Gottlieb started it well, talking about injuries

and personnel. I was like, Oh, maybe he's going to make a good point. Then he sort of fell off a cliffway that I agree with you. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. So here's the last one. So Miami, Ohio, the only other undefeated in the country besides Arizona, the number one team in the country. Miami, Ohio gets by Buffalo again yesterday. And I was talking about Arizona still has a gauntlet of teams to play. I don't think they're going to go undefeated might Miami go undefeated before they get to the postseason tournaments. I think that they're going to get tripped up at some point because keep a mind. They nearly lost twice a Buffalo. If you recall that first game, they need to hit a three in regulation to force over time. They needed a miracle shot in overtime to win that game. They were likely for death with Miami or with UMass a few days ago. And they just won this game against Buffalo by two points as well. So I think they're going to get got at some point. They've got a tough game coming up with a martial in. I believe it's the Sun Belt versus Mac challenges coming up this weekend. So I do think that they're going to lose straight up at some point.

No team is ever going to be going 40 enough. So I do think that for for this Miami, Ohio team, it's an amazing story. I absolutely love this scene. They are not going to enter into the NCAA tournament undefeated my opinion. Okay, just a question. They're going to get got as the quote from Greg on that. All right, let's get to your fab five. Let us start. Where do you want to start actually? Let's start at the top here. What do you have? I was seeing George Washington on there. And our nation's first president is right now one half point favorite. And I'm going to be one to lay it. The same Jones team has been so awful with their three point shooting. There are bottom 30 team in the country there. They're talking to begin the season. Doose Jones pretty much gets dismissed from the team. And George Washington's offense has traveled. They're talking to any team in terms of point scored on a perpossession basis away from mom. The issue that you have George Washington has been turnovers. About to run through the country turns the turnovers on a perpossession basis on offense. But St. Joe's really doesn't generate a lot of turnovers. It's the St. Joe's team that has been solid down low top 60 team in terms of on a two point shooting percentage. George Washington away from mom takes over 46% their shots from three.

Top 40 market in the country and they shoot over 37% on those three point shots. So now that we're actually seeing this as a pick them. I like George Washington to just get the job done. All right. George Washington no longer the Colonials ladies and gentlemen. They are the revolutionaries for those scoring at home with mascots. And you seem to know George Washington's our first president. Can you name our second and third Greg? I'm just curious. Yes, we've got Mr. Adams as our number two president. And then for number three, Thomas Jefferson and James Madison as our number four president. He stops it for well done. Well done. Well done. When I grow Quincy Adams. Come on, Greg. You could do it Central Florida and the under. You're doing two two plays in one. Yes, sir. I like the Central Florida team. One of the more undery teams in the country. Right now we're seeing them between 15 after 16, half point underdogs. I think they hold in there with Houston team that is ordinary on offense. Houston right around about 130, fit to 137th in terms of their two point and three point shooting percentage. They're four to an offense offensive rebounding. They've been a top 20 team in terms of offensive rebounding

percentage. So is Central Florida? A lot of people are sleeping on this team. Really good three point tuning team. But I do think that gets slowed down a little bit. Houston outside the top three are in terms of total possessions for him. So like the under and the points with the Knights of Central Florida. All right. Notre Dame catching a bunch of points against Louisville here. Talk about two touchdowns in a field goal worth. Oh, 17 and a half even. You have a side in total here as well. Yep, took Notre Dame and the under Notre Dame is going to look to slow the scene down 265th in terms of total possession for a man. They do a nice job not allowing second chances. Fourth of the country defensive rebound process. Team guy less than 22% of their misshots is an offense rebounding. Louisville leads a country at three point rate. They take over 54% of their shots from three points. Notre Dame. So the first in terms of opponent three point shooting process that keeps them lively. So in on the points with Notre Dame and right around 154 and after the under you mentioned Marshall earlier. You are laying the points with Marshall. Yep, Marshall, Marshall. We are going to be willing to lay those points. As for them, they face off against a Southern Miss team that are

three and 65 division with teams. Three hundred and sixty fifth in terms of three point shooting percentage. Marshall is a top 65 team in terms of point and two point shooting percentage. Matthew van came in at seven for four. One of the best shot blockers that I've got as well. Southern Miss looks to win with from within. They're not going to be able to do so against Marshall. Marshall right around a nine to 10 point favorite. Was that a Brady Bunch reference in their Marshall, Marshall, Marshall? I thought that's right. All right. And then finally, West Coast Conference can zag a Portland. What are you doing with that? I'm in on the over. Gonzaga is still an up to up to 15 top 50 team in terms of total possessions. Graeme Portland is looking to go down to Portland. They're outside the top 220 in terms of point and two point shooting percentage. Gonzaga's been really good on the inside. Have Graeme K back. Total right around 152 and half like the over. Greg Peterson rocking the slacks. Yes he is. We still use that word. The slacks. Slacks. All right. Greg, thank you as always, man. You're a pleasure. Thank you. Always appreciate. Thank you. Greg Peterson, everybody. We'll come back Super Bowl MVP talk next.
