A lot of a lot of just bobsled break down. Lose breakdown. You know, how you pick your friends and my buddies to do that.

1:02There was a lot. You see Colin Jost and Jason Kelsey did a whole loose thing down. And they were like, it felt like we were back was breaking. Oh, I can only imagine. Yeah. It's crazy terrifying. I still can't really figure out what the Olympics schedule is. Besides curling was on every single morning of the show. Apparently that takes a long time. It was the only sport that I was like, I know when to watch curling. It's on every board. Yeah. You want to you want to take it up now? Everything else was just kind of scattered too. No, I'm good. We get tweets meeting the book. Ben McGovern says, I like curts. But he did have a 362 Babib last year. I would expect significant regression in his stats this year. Good player, but not MVP. But here's the thing with Babib though, right? You have to factor in where the kid plays. And so I'm not so sure it regresses in a dramatic might regress some. We can continue the Nick Kurtz talk if you want to. Please. What a fascinating player he is. Well, let's let's continue. What do you have to say about him? Because we were just talking about him through the lens of MVP through the lens of first to 10 homers. Felica came on last week said six to one at 50 homers. Plus what he got on him. Yeah, I mean, first, well, let's talk about the bad bit thing real quick here, right? Because I think it's an excellent point, you know, that the listener brought up 364 bad bit, especially when you consider that home runs don't count towards bad bit because they're not balls in play. So, you know, that's 36 hits out of, you know, the, whatever he had last year, 122. So, yeah, I mean, I definitely see bad bit progression coming.

4:03But at the same time, there's a few things here with Kurtz. First of all, 50.9% hard hit percentage, right? The harder you hit the ball, the more hits you're going to have. You know, you're going to get unlucky. It's going to go to field every now and then. But dude hits the ball violently hard. And so that's going to help him. The other thing is his infield fly ball percentage last year was just 5.1%. And if you hit a lot of popups, that's going to really hurt your bad in average on balls and play. But he doesn't hit a lot of popups for a guy who has the power that he has, the fly ball rate that he has, the barrel rate that he has. He's carried a low popup rate pretty much all the way through pro ball and carried it over in the big leagues last year. So, you know, while I don't think 364 is repeatable necessarily, he probably is still a guy that's going to overachieve from an expected batting average standpoint and some of the other expected metrics. Thanks. That's kind of what I would say. That's kind of my take on him as well. Will he win MVP? Obviously, you're shooting for the moon with that. We'll see. But I like the price on him as well. I didn't mention Jose Ramirez.

5:03Or I did briefly touch on Jose Ramirez at 15 to one. You're a Cleveland guy. I have bet Ramirez pre flop in previous seasons when he was like at the 28 to one mark. I can remember that number. Um, he's always great. He is a hall of favor. Are you overbedding him in this market, though? Like this is, can we expect him to be in the mix every year? Because it seems like he does everything he can. And he's not really in the mix ever. Yeah. So, I mean, I, God knows I love Jose Ramirez, obviously. I mean, from if you want to look at the literal definition of most valuable player, he is the most valuable player to his team. There's absolutely no question about that. The Guardians were pathetic offensively last year. And that's even with a pretty good season from Jose Ramirez. He is the unquestioned leader of that team in so many different ways. He's got like six or seven, six plus war seasons already. There's an incredible player.

6:03But he's probably going to hit around 30 home runs. He's probably going to bat around 280 might get to 100 RBI. Like you did a couple of years ago. Like he's not going to have air and judge numbers or Bobby with junior numbers. So I think Bobby with junior could go 40, 40 this year. Um, he just doesn't hit the home runs that people want to see to win this award. So he is the most valuable player to his team. He's not going to win this award, though. I'd be shocked if he won it. And like you said, the price just kind of keeps going down and down and down. As we will know how good he is, it's just because of the counting stats. You have to put up. It's a very hard award for him to win. And Aaron judge plays in the Bronx. He plays for the Yankees. There's that whole, you know, but perceived bias. If not an actual bias on it too. And you're right about the literal MVP. And maybe more this year than any year with that lineup. Would you say? Yeah, I would say so. I mean, look, I'm really happy they brought in Reese Hoskins. I mean, first of all, they, they signed a guy with a pulse on offense, which is good. Yeah.

7:03He'll probably, you know, do some platooning with Kyle Menzardo, which you can get like a 40 home run first basement out of Menzardo and Hoskins, depending on how you distribute that playing time. So I'm pretty happy about that. Uh, clearly they need, clearly they needed to do more. But, you know, I mean, the guardians are banking on Chase the louder and George Valera and, you know, some of these young guys that they have that have very extensive injury histories. If those guys are league average or better bats, then this might not be a bottom third of the league offense. Um, but that's a big ask for guys that are hurt all the time. So, uh, there's still a below average offense to be sure. So, you know, I mean, Hosair Mirrors is going to stand out as he always does. But the problem is he's just, he's so underappreciated in those awards markets with the voting that he just can't win it. Yeah, though, though I was told that you called him maybe the greatest third basement of all time and someone wanted to fight you on this. I think Joe Pita, Michael Jack Schmidt fan was very upset about this characterization. So the two of you will have to go to war on that at some point.

8:03I mean, look, that's, that's fine, right? But I mean, this is a guy he's got. I mean, he's going to have 300 homeers and 300 stolen bases. He's going to be the ninth player in MLB history to do that. He needs, I believe 15 homeers and 13 steals this year. So as long as he stays healthy, like in his age 33 season, he's going to become the ninth player to have 300 homeers and 300 steals. Like, that's just an incredible statistic for a guy that, I mean, he's not the most athletic dude. He's five eight. Like, you would think his body would wear down. He plays every single game. Um, he's a really, really special player. Kelly side note bonds 500 500 short point. He's really good. He has good. Okay. Base one of it's not the best outfielder. Baseball betting guide is out. There's pool supporters out of the stands. Yeah. You're gassed. So this guy can, Jack can replace you. By the way, formula 409, right? Not formula 405. Yeah. I was wondering it when you said it. Not only on the website today, a couple of games, which we'll get into here momentarily. But also we have our college basketball guide coming out. Yes. Yes. So we're going to make a really, really big push to get our march band is betting guide out on March 16th, which is the day after selection Sunday. We want to try to get it out on Monday for everybody. Obviously, it's a very tight turnaround.

16:12You know what the play in games on Tuesday and Wednesday. But we're going to make a serious push to do that here. Hope to get it out kind of early evening on March 16th. But even prior to that, we're covering all 31 conference tournaments. At vsn.com starting with the horizon league. I think we'll be posted here on Friday or Saturday. And then going all the way on through the Ivy League. So we'll have all 31 conference tournaments previewed myself and my senior editor Zachary Cohen going to jump on that project. So look, I mean, it's the month of madness, you know, to be sure. So I want to make sure we haven't covered from every angle over vsn.com. And that includes the conference tournaments because you get a lot of day games. You get all day basketball. It's a lot of fun. It's to me, I think that, you know, that's kind of the week for the diehards. And March madness that first week of the tournament is just kind of where the casuals kind of show up a little bit too. And then there's a few tournaments that begin in earnest.

17:14First round on March the fourth. So next week, that's an Indian Wells going to any Wells at the end of next week. The turnaround be did the Super Bowl is creeping further. By the way, next year, Valentine's Day Super Bowl. And so all these other events, college basketball conference tournaments, something like Indian Wells, tennis is fifth major, all now sandwiched closer to the Super Bowl as a result. So this, this February law is less and less as time goes on. Thank you, NFL. We're not caring about calendars whatsoever. Just taking a board more time. Okay. You did write up a couple games. There's very short slang college hoops that I only nine games. Two of which involve rank teams. You did write up a little nugget on both on the website. Maybe more than a nugget. But let's give a little nugget on each now Louisville at North Carolina. Let's start there with Cardinals, favorite by three. Yeah, we get an ESPN double header tonight. So I wrote a previous or both of these games. Then I have a couple of other games that I like of teams that you may or may not know exist in college basketball.

18:14So the Louisville North Carolina game. Look, I mean, Louisville just, they don't really have anything that I would consider a super signature win for a major conference team. They haven't won a quadrant one a game yet. This is going to be one of them on the road in Chapel Hill. Why not? I mean, they've beaten Duke. You know, we've seen them go out there and beat some really premier opponents so far this season and pick up some of those quadrant one a wins. Makes me feel like North Carolina's best is better than Louisville's best. And I got a team here at home getting points in what should be a raucous environment there at the dean dome. So statistically, yes, Louisville does look like the stronger team. But I think what Louisville's done this season is kind of beat up on the drags of the ACC. Because North Carolina is kind of showing up in some of their marquee games. So look, this is one of those I'll pay to see it, right? If Louisville goes out there, gets their first quadrant one a win on the road in North Carolina. Cool. Good for them. But I took the three and a half with North Carolina last night.

19:14And I still think it's good at two and a half, which is kind of the prevailing number in the market. What about Houston and Kansas, the real marquee matchup tonight? Yes. So you know what? I typically don't like Houston. I'm not a big Houston fan because they don't get to the rim. It's very, very jump shot oriented. It's one of the reasons why from a two point percentage standpoint, despite all of their good metrics, they're usually pretty bad at shooting twos because their shot share at the rim is like under 25% on an annual basis. But I just think they're the better team here. Certainly there are much more physical team. They're going to win the battle in the glass. They should win the bet the turnover battle in this game as well. Who knows if Darren Peterson will even want to play in this game for Kansas? Because that seems to be, you know, something that we don't know night in and night out. Like I said, I don't like that Houston settles for a lot of jump shots. It can really bog their offense down. But I think the fact that they've lost a couple in a row haven't lost three games in a row since 2017. Like I said, they're going to win the turnover battle. They're going to win the rebounding battle in this game and all likelihood.

20:14And I think they'll make more than enough shots to come away with the win. So I did lay the short road price here in Houston in this one. Okay, would not be an Adam Burke segment without some random college basketball picks. And despite it only being nine games tonight, despite there being only nine games, you have two plays for us. Yeah, of course I do. Let's go down to the Southland conference here for Nichols and Lamar. So this is where we actually have seen some money coming in on Nichols in this one. Lamar did win the first game 90 to 80 earlier on this season. But I think Lamar got very lucky offensively in that game. They were 10 of 16 from three 11 of 19 on mid range jumpers. This is not a good jump shooting team with the Cardinals. So you know, they kind of overperformed quite a bit in that first meeting. Nichols is a team with a rim and three rate around 84%. So they should be able to get to the rim. They should be able to get the three point shots that they want. They almost beat a really, really good Steven F Austin team over the weekend. They didn't play great defensively in that game. But they were spectacular on offense against a very good lumberjack squad.

21:17So I think head coach to von Sadler's got this team going in the right direction. I took Nichols plus the two and a half in this one. Kind of coming down to two or one and a half out there in the market now. So if you just want to play the money line, that's perfectly fine too. I'm hoping Julie Dunkley plays in this game. It's very hard to find injury information about Southland conference teams. Surprisingly. So hopefully he plays in this game. He is their leading score. But even if he doesn't, I think Nichols will make the adjustments and Lamar won't shoot as well in this game. So I like the kernels as a short road dog in this one. All right. Adam told us that off air when he was doing the college basketball guide, 31 conference previews that he was responsible for 21 of them. One of those 21 is the Miak. You are firing on a game tonight. Yeah, I got the Miak. I got the swag. I got all the, you know, one bid leagues with the 16 seats that are going to go out there smoked by a number one or, you know, go to Dayton for the play in game. But this is a swag match up here with Mississippi Valley State and Grambling State. So Mississippi Valley State has two wins on the season.

22:18One of them is over a women's university. They just won their first game against men over the weekend beating Texas Southern. Wow. Probably kind of gives them a renewed sense of purpose late in the season here, right? Grambling is a team. They don't play at a super fast pace. They're not a very efficient offensive team. Valley State's getting a 17 and a half point head start here. They make it blown out. They may not cover in this game, but Grambling's offensive numbers do not inspire a lot of confidence for me to cover 17 and a half, 16 and a half, like the market number here. So I like the Mississippi Valley State Delta Devils tonight plus 17 and a half. Let's go. Greatest athlete to ever come out of Mississippi Valley State. Kelly. 24:21Horizon Atlantic Sun. I think Atlantic Sun has a wacky one. There's so many of these conferences. In college, where the brackets, the West Coast conference one is like this horizontal thing. Where Gonzaga and St. Mary's gets to play like the fourth round or something. Just so they make sure they get in. No, we don't want any upsets here. They're going to double buy, right? We don't want any shenanigans in our conference. Not that they keep Gonzaga out of anything. Ben Handorf. Hey, Gill and Kelly. Not sure if you heard of this podcast, but it's wild. Oh, risk of ruin. 26:23Yeah. At sports cheetah. And I mean, but there's difference. And even West falls into this category. I've been talking with about golf on Twitter with West for a dozen years at this, at this point, right? But Preston, I will never forget 2010 World Cup. Probably 2010, right? It was not when there was a World Cup. Remember asking him specific soccer betting questions. I had no idea about it. And him just going back and forth with me for like an hour. Nice. It's like DM. Nice. Preston and I used to do college football pods for $1. Toss. We would charge our ballpark is for $1. Then he owned a soccer team. Then he owned the soccer team. Yeah. Real quick. So I was I was going for two weeks. Not sure if you noticed. And a couple of things that I wanted to recommend because West recommended the ABA documentary earlier on, called Soul Power about the American Basketball Association, the rainbow balls, everything that came with that. This became a big thing. And yes, I pardon organizing this. But anyway, there's a documentary out on Netflix. It's a three part documentary, three episodes on America's next top model. And the only reason I'm recommending it, because there's nothing to bet on here, is that it turns out Tyra Banks is the world's worst human being. So I want to point that out. That's all.

28:25That's almost my whole review. Just watch it. If you remember that show, that, and by the way, what they got away with, it shows you how quickly the world turns, would they got away with doing on that show 20 years ago? Would never be allowed today. Just so many things we know as a society, recognize as horrifically horrible behavior, bullying, and just ghost things that they came up with on the show that are horrifying now today in retrospect. Just 20 years hence. And by the way, I even said as viewers, we didn't find them nearly. There was a few things at the time, even. We were like, what are they doing? I don't remember anybody complaining back then. Yeah, there's a few complaints, but not like now when we look back on a retrospect, it's horrible. But you would think with the passage of time, right? Some of the people on the show would have gotten perspective and would have recognized some of that stuff. And everybody does except for Tyra Banks, who apparently none of this has all been lost on. Anyway, that was one thing. The other things is love is blind thing. Wait, hold on.

29:25Really quick. Oh, don't let me see. How many seasons is it? Like is it? Wait, how many seasons did it go? America's next time. Yeah. I don't know. First of all, they call them cycles. Don't be. Don't be. Let's talk about it correctly, Kelly Billin. I think cycles, they call them. I don't know. There was a million of them. I tapped out after like, it's not. It hasn't been going on anytime recently. Oh, right. I think Tyra lives in Australia or something. That was literally the, really? Oh, yeah. She's horrible. It started to think about what you were just talking about. Is this show still on the air? No, no, no. I'm kind of just for that. Just just just to watch that. Like, talk about not getting perspective over the years. The other thing is love is blind. Love is blind. You can't actually bet at Calci. Who's gonna get in gauge? But more importantly now, who's gonna get married? You can bet these things. Now, I have no specific advice on this, but Kelly, I just want to, I just want to give my, uh, if you were looking for an actual bet, I really don't have one. Because what they do is they put these, they put a man in one pod and a woman in another, and they basically speed date, but in pods, they can't see each other. Right. One on one. And so essentially what they do is they set up this artificial lap. By the way, loosely hosted by Nicholas Shay and Vanessa Lashay. And when I say loosely, I mean, in the span of like 10 episodes, you'll see them for a grand total of 80 seconds. And somehow they get a paycheck. Sounds like good gig if you get it. Good God. I don't know how to get an extra Lashay. Formerly Vanessa Manillo. I didn't know this. Okay. This fabulous is anyway. I don't know how they get a paycheck. Anyway, so they create this artificial lab, which is artificial in the sense that you can love bomb anyone into loving you in a lab, right? Kelly, if Kelly Billin goes in a pod, I understood the pod conversation. I'm lost now. No, no, if you go into a pod,

31:31and there's a girl on the other side, and then you date multiples, you can, you with your, with a twist of your tongue, Kelly Billin, with the things that you would say, you would charm multiple girls into loving you, right? And they'd be like, well, Kelly's my number one. Oh, Kelly's my number two, right? So it's an artificial thing. And so by the way, love is not blind, especially for men. I don't want to be like, you know, say that we're worse than women, but let's face it, guys, we're worse than women. It's not blind for men, right? Women, some women, it's not blind. But you know, as as Deborah's song, fashion stylist reminds me all the time, she goes, oh, love is blind here, which I find was rude, by the way, that she says that to me. But anyway, I think it's flattering. No, no, no, she's just, no, she's saying the opposite. So anyway, she's saying, so you create this artificial lab, right? Where you can love bomb each other. They fall in love. And then, then when you, then when you put them into the real world, where they actually have to lay eyes on each other, the show villainizes the quote unquote, shallowness of caring about looks after the fact. So in essence, what they do, Kelly,

32:35is the show's editing's north star is this self-fulfilling prophecy of its false premise. Does that make sense? Yeah. Are you joking? No, it makes go, no, no, you lost me in the middle there when you went on some lab thing. So of course, isn't the whole idea of the show of like, well, let's see if it actually works right. But then they retroactively villainize the people have the audacity to care about looks also like it's not even like it's not even about like, are you attractive to me or not? Like it's, you just might be surprised by like on how the person looks. So the point in the end is though is like, so I believe that as a thing. But the viewers go crazy when every someone has the audacity to care about looks, though I will say on this year's episode, oh my god, there are two guys, even I am like, they're the worst. You thought Tyra Banks was bad. The other one. There's this guy Chris, who's like five, five and a half, who's like, has the arrogance of like Brad Pitt. That's a perfect example. This guy is like just the worst person ever. And then there's this guy who claims to be he's a former soccer player. He never

33:39tells you he was a goalie, by the way, he just says I was a great soccer player, but I have four knee injuries. He lies maybe four times in one sentence. He's another awful guy. So I will concede on a couple of these points. It does go into proper villainization. But you can bet on this on cows, which of these couples are getting married.
