A Numbers Game — A Numbers Game | February 10, 2026 | Hour 2. Machine-transcribed; use the interactive transcript above to jump the player to any line.
This is Vincent, the sports betting network. The numbers told the story of how he's doing. Some of those idiots who believe in analytics. This is a numbers game with Kill I like Xander. Gone Vincent. Number two. Here on a Tuesday, Matt Brown in for Gil. Kelly Bidlin on the desk with me. He had a nice little quick, quick, actually a very quick little golf discussion. But as we said, a little bit later today, we will be recording long shots wherever you get your podcast over there on YouTube as well. That's right. That's the cheap plug to go in and join our YouTube page, which is there a, is there a link? Or is it just, it's in the podcast and go to long shots YouTube? It is. Is that what it is? Yes. Beasts and long shots YouTube. Okay. We should probably line the line. Why is doing a great job of keeping me? We should learn the link. There's got to be a URL. We should, all I've heard is the audience is growing exponentially week to week.
There we go. I'm like only sort of kidding when I say that. It's growing though. It's growing. We should buy a bunch of bots. We should. We've said that a lot of times before though. We should just buy a bunch of bots. Oh, wait, not. These bots could come in so handy for us for multiple reasons. There's all this AI out there. And I'm not using any of it to like, to make things bigger. I should be, I should be doing this. I got to get some, I'm going to get on the bots. That's what I'm doing this afternoon. You got to get on it after the after we record. It's all bots all the time. All right, before we get to Paul, I actually, because I'm sure the audience is thinking the same thing. We cut off our conversation right as we went to break. So you and you and I are both on Henley. Did you bet anything else so far? I only have Henley in the account. That's why I'm with a couple of other guys queued up. But like, yeah. Okay, I bet. I think the only other reason I bet one other is because it was a pretty, it was a pretty outlier number. I did bet Shane Lowry. But that's all I've bet so far too. And I don't really know that I'm going to have more outright than that. There was, it was very clear and obvious to me that I was going to get in on Henley. And then I liked Lowry. I wasn't sure I was even going to play it outright. I got plenty top 10s in top 20s to discuss with you later.
Expected value podcast true media sports. He is Paul car at Paul car over the Twitter machine. Now joining us here talks of really. But before we get into that. Yes. Kelly Biblin has a burning question. Yeah, it's kind of Paul's area. Okay. The area of the country. So Matt Cox was just on with us. A couple of segments ago. I really like Darren Peterson over there at Kansas. And I know he missed the game last night. But 20 to one Paul. I don't know what the vibes are in Kansas right now. But I think I'm going to be rooting for the J-hawks. What do you think? Yeah. So I'll give you a caveat that I've watched like 10 minutes of non-Kansas college basketball. But having said that. So focusing specifically on Kansas. I feel like the pieces are there. It reminds me a little bit of the 22 team that won the national title with KU. Where they kind of figured it out over the course of the season. Remy Martin had come in as a transfer. And he was kind of the missing pieces of six man slash point guard. But they've got the pieces, you know,
Melvin Councils looked really good at guard. I mean, we know what Peterson can do. But doing this. Continuing to learn in some ways. So the pieces and the upside is there. And the talent is there to make a run. So 20 to one. Again, without having a great sense of the full context. 20 to one feels long because I feel like the upside of this team is about as high as anybody. Yeah, I'm in. That's all right. Thanks, Paul. There it is. Appreciate you on the break. On the break bet on the break bet. Yeah. Yeah. All right, Paul. So I'm on this desk after the Super Bowl. It seems like every year for the last five years. And I get you. And I get to ask you the exact same question. Which is now people are done betting football of the American variety. They're looking for something else to bet. They're going to parachute. And can you kind of catch us up at least a little bit on what's been going on in the Premier League? Sure. So we're basically at the two thirds mark of the season right now. Arsenal is the significant favorite. They're around minus 400 minus 500 depending where you look to win the title right now. They've got a six point lead over Manchester City.
Arsenal's been leading the door open for the last few months. And man city is just not interest in walking through it. They some of his injury related. Some of it's just not playing well. Some of it's unlucky. They're going to be able to play well with everything. So city is still six points back. I have a city future from before the season. So I'm not rushing out to play them again. But if you wanted something to enjoy these last 13 games or so of the season from a title perspective. I don't mind a sprinkle on city at plus 400 because they've still got the upside. If the pieces start clicking and Arsenal has been good. They've been better on the whole, but not run away with the title type of better. And city has Arsenal at home if you care about that down the stretch. So yeah, it's, it's a two horse race for the title. And the relegation battles more or less on top four top five race could be interesting. Yeah, Paul wanted to focus on that. I know you got a couple plays here for today as well. But that top four top five. What's the difference again? Because we did, we did get to a point right where it's the top five make champions league out of Premier League now. And where do you see this race sending up with a, it's pretty bunch between Man United Chelsea Liverpool and Branford all right there.
Yeah, so officially the Premier League gets four spots in Champions League next season. So top four is what you traditionally hear people saying top four, you find top four markets and such. There are also a couple of kind of wild card Champions League burst that go to the leagues that perform best in Champions League and across Europe this season. England is almost certainly going to get that like some of the projections. It's over 90% they're going to get that spot. So chances are and they'll know this before the end of the season. Top five will go to Champions League. So I'm not crazy about looking at a top four market. I got burned by this a little bit last year when it ended up in a Newcastle didn't need to get in the top four because top five was enough. So I'm not too interested in that just from kind of a race perspective. I mean, Aston Villa's in third. They're the one exceeding their underlying numbers the most. So, but they just have a big lead on you know, like Liverpool in six or Brentford in seventh. They've got an eight point lead, which is pretty big with 13 games left. So if you wanted to take a flyer, but even like I think Liverpool's I don't think they're even plus money to finish in the top five.
So I don't see a lot of value here, but Villa's the one in the top five. I would kind of expect to fall out. All right, Paul. Let's get into some of your plays here and I take this job very, very seriously. So I went in and did prep work for this. Yeah. This is prep work here. So Everton and Bournemouth. This is this is a eighth for Everton, 11th for Bournemouth right now is where they sit. Both these teams from what I saw haven't lost in league play in quite a while. It seems like to me and then Everton took the first meeting back in December. How are you looking to play this one? Yeah, two just kind of rock solid mid table teams. You mentioned eighth and 11th. I think we get goals here. Everton has played more conservatively on the whole of this season. Bournemouth is definitely more open. Fourth in the league and total expected goals per game. And I think that's going to win out in this one. 15 of their 25 games, about three plus goals, including nine of 12 on the road. When they, you know, some teams get more conservative on the road. Bournemouth seems to kind of go the other way and opens up a little bit more. So Everton's also hasn't been great at home.
It's a new stadium. Maybe they're adjusting to that. So whatever it might be, I don't have a sense of who's going to come out on top in this one. But I think we're going to get goals. We're going to have over two and a half at minus 120 in this one. Like it, Paul. And then we'll kick things ahead to tomorrow. We've got matches going today and tomorrow in the Premier League. I know one you're looking at Crystal Palace in Burnley. It looks like a big time spot for Crystal Palace. Yeah, Burnley is has been the worst team in the league this season. They are not in last place and it's not that close because Wolverhampton has. I mean, they haven't been good and they've been unlucky. But I think Burnley is looking at any underlying numbers, though the worst team in the league. So I'm going to look to fade them probably a lot kind of down the stretch. Because they're going to get relegated. And Crystal Palace has not been playing super well. They haven't scored two goals in any of the last ten games. But they've had at least one and a half expected goals. They're running cold in an attack. They've had that much in seven of ten and all five of their games at home where they've been better.
Like most teams over the course of the season. And those games are all against teams that are much better than Burnley. So I think Palace, I like them laying the goal in a half plus 160. So kind of the alternate mainline or inside your book. Burnley's again, there's not good. They've given up at least two goals and ten to the last 12 games. The worst attack, the worst defense in the league. They only had five shots against Sunderland last Monday and Sunderland's not as good as Palace on the whole. So Palace has had some players leave in the marked transfer market. They've had some injuries. But I get right sort of game at home against Burnley. I'll lay a goal in a half plus 160. Yeah. I saw that Burnley hadn't won a game since November. Yeah. Yeah. Can you imagine going out every single time? It's a lot of running. It's a lot of running cold. And then you got Sunderland in Liverpool. Sunderland lost their last three EPL matches. And then Liverpool just won EPL win since the calendar year turned to 2026. Paul was going on with Liverpool. Yeah, some of it's been injuries.
Their backline's been a real mess from an injury standpoint. Just haven't been clicking quite as well as last year. Sunderland, they're a newly promoted team. They started really well. They've been in the top half for most of the season. But they look like they're starting to fade a bit a little bit. You mentioned the slide they've had lately. But they have not been a button down team. Five straight games have had three plus total goals for Sunderland. And they haven't totally been the worst going to pack it in and try to steal a point type of team this season. And I don't think Liverpool will let that happen even if they wanted to. So I think we get goals here also. I don't trust Liverpool enough to play them as a side or on the three way or anything. But I think we're going to get at least three goals. So I have over two and a half here at minus 120 between Liverpool's injuries backline and just kind of the way Sunderland has tended to attack games this season. He is Paul Car, true media sports expected value podcast at Paul Car over on the Twitter machine as well. Dropping the goods on the Premier League and talking you into a college basketball back.
What a guest spot. That's right. I mean, I'm telling you right now. Paul, appreciate the time, man. Good luck. Do I get it? I got a cut one of Kelly's bat one K one title. Sure. You got one percent Kansas cut. Yep. That's right. I'll take it. Thank you. Yeah. Very money. Appreciate it. Paul. Have a go, man. All right. Thank you. Oh, Kelly Bidlin. Medicine. So the A's and Aaron Savali have reached an agreement. This is coming from John Heyman. So we're starting to get kind of some of these dudes that were stragglers out there. That are going to be signing with some of these teams. So Savali back into the rotation fella that will go in and eat up some innings there for the A's. It could reach apparently six million dollar guaranteed with a million and a half and incentives. So, you know, the A's get them a a fifth six star or something like that. Where were the athletics playing this year? Same. Same ballpark as last year. Okay. I didn't change it all or anything. I mean, I guess they're still building the thing here. I was just going to ask you. So I guess are they?
I don't know. Are they? Are we going to see? I don't know. I see a hard rock guitar going up. I don't see a ballpark going up. The guitar is going up way faster than the ballpark. That is for sure. It's what construction is weird, right? It felt like it took forever for the barrage to slowly get taken down. And now that guitar is it's going up quick. You know, I know they're going to make it structurally sound, but like it just doesn't look. The guitar. Oh, I hear you. You can apparently lead all the other giant towers here in town. Like you look at that. And the wind gets into blowing here. Pretty good. I feel like that guitar. 50 mile an hour. It's all right on. So if there's any bending, it will really blow right on over. When we come back, we got the official numbers from the Super Bowl for the handle here in Nevada. Did it live up to last year? We'll let you know. You're here because you want an edge. That's what separates listeners from winners. But let's be real. Mindset alone doesn't get bets home. Pros win because they've got the tools, the data and the discipline. And now so can you. These sports betting network. Numbers game here on Visa. Kelly, did you make the on the break bet? Amid. So here's the thing. 21. Jay. I'm actually really proud of you because so many of those just go forgotten. Where you say, you know what? You know what? You know what? You know what? You know what? You know what? You know what? You know what? I'm going to make a, I'm going to make a bet on the break. And then something happens and things where did you put on the list? No, I made, I made the bet. I made the bet during the break. I didn't put it on the list. Okay. I didn't put on the list is clean right now. There is no bets to make on the bets to make list. Okay. What about the other list? Do you have a get some errands to run? Well, I know. Well, yeah, of course.
There's always a two to do list going. Absolutely. On there's long shots at one third. Okay. Yes. Okay. Yeah. The gym's going to be on there for sure. All right. I actually lied to bets to make bets to make though. These are like things I'm going to be thinking about. All right. You want to hear what's on there? Let's do it. Well, fate grizzlies, but you could have like 17 more teams to that one. That one. That one. I don't even know when I made that note. Vouch, three points, uh, three point props overs. That was one that I made as soon as the trade deadline. Uh, happened, uh, the Vouch trade happened to the Celtics at the trade deadline. That was when we talked about it hard with handicappers last week. I thought it was a great point by JVT. Would the market be able to catch up to three point attempt? Uh, makes, uh, for Vouch right away. I thought that was a good one. And then one that I've had on here for a while, then we're probably going to talk a little bit about, uh, more about tomorrow or later of the week. I got an exact in the NBA. Oh, okay. These are things we do in the, uh, NFL, but not so much in, uh, in the NBA, but why not? There's a Western conference team that I'm high on and I think that you can, you're going to get juicy numbers with the murky, the murky Eastern conference right now at the top.
So yeah. I think I'm going to talk about it tomorrow. Okay. That's the long tease long tease. Right. So here's a, here's a nugget that, uh, has absolutely nothing to do with batting. You ready? Isaiah Stewart has been ejected eight times, which is breaking a tie with Jerry Stackhouse for second most impistence history. He's only one behind Richard Hamilton right now. I don't know. I, both of those names that are ahead of him are surprising to me. Is that not surprising to you? Like there's not a Rashid Wallace or something on there. Oh, yeah. It's a rip Hamilton and Jerry Stackhouse. Yeah. That is, that is fascinating. We had a crew and I were talking about that fight before that. It is. There's a lot of fights that happen in sports that you're like, it's just kind of gross. Those two had something to prove to each other last night. It was pretty good. Isaiah Stewart. Isaiah Stewart, just the like mighty, mighty ducks bash brothers where it was just he's on the bench. And it was like, all right. I don't know. I have to get involved. This is why I'm here. Do you know what though?
Basketball fights are always the biggest let down because here's the thing football fights. You're wearing helmets. Idiots. You don't punch each other. Yeah. Baseball. You have weapons. Right. You went back. You've got a ball. Helmets. Like the cleats are metal. Like you could like slice someone open. There is nothing standing between a guy just punching the other guy in the face and bass when they never do it. It's like an open hand slap or just an aggressive push. Like, what are you doing? You, you have the ability to actually get in a real fight and we do not get near enough of them. Yeah. It's hockey fights. They have weapons. They have whatever. They'll still, they pull the, pull the gloves off. They do the, the right thing. And then they actually punch each other. Yeah. But it's literally encouraged in that sport. It's, it is actually, if you have decided to fight in the NBA. Oh, there were fist being thrown last night. The original was a sort of open hand thing and what sure. I'm on, man. There are fist being thrown. Not many of them landed. There's, they're the worst fights. NBA fights are the worst.
Now, the one, the one that I always, we often joke about the football one where you punch the helmet. Not really a great idea. I always do, similarly, when they're, when there are actual punches that are thrown in NBA fights, I kind of laugh at the idea of anybody trying to get in between the players. Because guess what? These guys have pretty long reaches, you know what I mean? Like you trying to separate guys isn't going to do much if you're an assistant coach. We never get golf fights. No golf fights at all. That would be awesome. Don't get any tennis fights either. Mm-hmm. Mm-hmm. I think that one would be really interesting because would you have the dude use the racket as a weapon or would he be a, also how would that work? Like is that like a Nick Curio's triggers someone and they've just lost it finally? Yeah. I mean, probably something like that. Would you, would you in the sport of the fight drop the racket and just go hands or are you like, are you going to club someone over the head with the racket? Like these are all, I kind of think we, I'd like to see a tennis fight. I think that needs to happen. The brackets are like real light these days though, right? Yeah, but if you swing anything hard enough, you're going to hurt. So I fussed on this water bottle hard enough and hit you with the hurt. It would.
So let's not try that. Yeah, I mean, seriously. These are things. We need more fights in sports spaces where we're going outside of the sports that are, that are fighting. Yes. Yeah. I mean, it's, you know, one more fights at the UFC. Yeah. We don't need any more of that. We just, you know, I, I'm big fan now this tennis fight thing. I want to see if someone would just use the racket or if they would, if it would just be punches. It kicks. And then whatever they're natural instincts, someone takes a jujitsu in the offseason and they just roll up and just like arm bar the guy like it's just not even the, I don't need this weapon. Boom. Next thing you know, they're on the ground snap in the arm. All right, guys, get ready for you. I had larger than life. Big soccer game. We're going to call it the big soccer game. The big tournament. Yeah. Big soccer game or the world soccer championship experience here at Circa Resort and Casino in Las Vegas. One lucky winner or two night stay at Circa VIP Cabana Stadium swim $500. And credit also $250 in food and beverage to use here in the casino as well. You'll get here in style with a limo transportation and also cocktails up at legacy club. So inner now world soccer championship at Circa give away details over at Circa Las Vegas.com.
So go in, take advantage of that. The pool up there is heated year round. So don't worry about it. Yeah. Don't worry about it. It's I keep saying Matt. It's like Derek's giving you like $800 a drink. I mean, yeah, you got the Cabana. But you have $500 and credit out there, $250 food and beverage credit. And then I am just this one originally, but the round of celebratory cocktails at legacy club. Let's say that's $50 and that's probably being generous. That's there you go. 800 bucks. In the limos here. By the way, all the lim, they're all the big gigantic stretch like escalates or whatever and all of that. So you're not getting the little, the little tiny limo that you took to prom whenever you were, you know, a junior in high school, like that's not what you're getting. Tiny limo. You know, I remember the first one to get it. Here's the thing. In truth, Port Louisiana, there's probably only five limos anyway in the whole city. Yeah. So the first one we got, it was basically just like a mini van, like it was not a limo, like at all. We thought we were so fancy and like you get back now and you see the stuff that you see driving down the strip. And I think back at that, and I'm kind of like, I'm pretty sure that some of these extended
SUVs are bigger than what I wrote. All right. This is great. Okay. That actually is great. I never thought about that. The true heroes were the, were the people that booked those five limos way in advance. Oh, yeah. Those are the serious couples. Yeah. Because you knew you knew they were going to be gone like it was, that's awesome. Problem season. You had to get in early on that. So we did get the numbers. This has been a Nevada tradition for a very long time. You get the press release of what the handle was for the Super Bowl, $133.8 million. And while that is a lot, it is down from $151.6 million last year, Kelly. Actually, the lowest handle since 2016, that being said, they did win just shy of $10 million. Which actually isn't all that far off from what you get in a typical Super Bowl year anyway. When usually about 10 to 12 million, something like that. So the 9.8 and change that they got here, isn't that far off? And a lot of that has to do with the fact that the game, so many undershit, so many popular undershit, JSN didn't even sniff his and all that with most of those dudes.
And obviously the low scoring game helped from that environment with them. But the handle is interesting. The handle down, and I think that does play into the narrative that I think a lot of us talked about here on the network that I think anecdotally we talked about with friends and whatnot. It's just the game in general didn't have as much juice, I think, as in years past. You didn't have the superstar quarterback and Patrick Mahomes. It was Seattle and it was, and I understand it's Boston, but it was a different version of the Patriots. It was no longer the Tom Brady Patriots and all of that. And I just think the lack of star power, maybe the fact that it didn't feel like that the Patriots were even the best team and the comfort, you know, all of that led to what I felt I could, you could feel the energy, right? You could feel the way that people were discussing the game. Nobody, it just didn't have the hype is years past. Yeah. Yeah. I guess you're right, man. I don't know. You know, we sit here for two weeks and obviously all season talking through football. Tardew imagined the NFL not being as popular as the NFL usually is year to year, right?
It's just, it's wild to hear any drop off. Lois. It's 2016. It's pretty crazy. I think I think you're right, though. My brain start immediately starts going to, I don't know, is there something else in play here? Right? Are people betting elsewhere, right? A couch year or something like that? Is that what's going on? But no, your problem. The biggest reason is what you just said is probably overall interest level in the game and the matchup. Yeah. I guess not the most exciting. I love every second of it, though. I know you did too. Yeah. I mean, it played out, it played out very well for me from a betting standpoint. Yeah. No doubt about that. But it was, I think too, whenever you look at it and the narrative heading into the game is more about the defenses than it is about the offenses, that probably at least a little bit makes some of the people less apt to get out and maybe want to bet it and everything. So I don't know. I mean, look, at the end of the day, at the end of the day, I think we'll, we'll kind of look at this next year and see if this is just a trend or an aberration. I think for me, like, I think it was just just a one off.
Yeah. The matchup. Yeah. The matchup. Like I said, no soup. There wasn't really any superstars. I mean, it was a cool story with Sam Donald being thrown to the curb and then went in a soup. It was a cool story that Drake May and this Patriot team seemed to be kind of a year or two early from what we thought, but it didn't really, it didn't have it. It felt like that all season though, right? It was a year or two early, a year or two early and that sort of, you know, killing I was talking about this yesterday, it stinks. It's tough, right? It's really tough to get to a Super Bowl. There's no promises you're ever going to be back. But man, Patriots, I know you don't want to hear this, but it's like, you think you found your quarterback at least, right? Like there's, if you, as long as you keep thinking we were a year or two early, like, there's a lot to build on, know what you accomplished this season. We didn't focus enough on Steph Diggs' relationship, I think, heading into it. That's right. That's what we should have done to maybe get a little bit faster. Great. The hot gospel. Jay Con on hockey when we come back.
Numbers game on FESEN, the Sports Vettin Network. Numbers game here on Be Some Map Brown and Kelly Bidlin, going out to the guest line here to bring in the most handsome hockey handicapper in the entire country of Canada. Jay Con, how are you doing, buddy? I'm doing great, guys. I don't know how much competition there is for hockey handicappers in Canada, so like who I'm up against Matt in that competition, but I will certainly take it number one on the podium. I'm happy to be here talking some Olympic hockey with you guys. The gold medalist as far as I'm concerned. I'm struggling at the last word he used, Jake, because he's definitely, you're definitely the only Canadian handicapper he knows, period. So yeah, that's why I worked out well. Whoa, buddy. I was questioning the competition here. Yeah, throw out another name there's a whole bunch of them, all right? So just leave it alone. I know too many to name. I don't want to take up the entire segment. All right, Jake, before we get into your place here and maybe we'll have some time for
some golf on the back end as well. You can't say hockey. If you were a winter Olympian, you would compete in sport. What? Well, so maybe realistically not this sport, but this is my favorite sport to watch at the winter Olympics, you know, because we watch these sports once every four years. Let's be honest, I don't think too many of us are watching speed skating, you know, on the, on the off Olympic years. I love the byathlon, Matt. If now I would have to be a much better athlete than I am currently to compete in the byathlon. I have a lot of respect for those athletes, but the, the combination of the cross country skiing, having to get your heart rate down to hit those shots high pressure. Okay, you got the lead and then you miss a shot, you know, man, I'm going to have to do that extra lap, that penalty lap. I think it's one of the most intense competitions and very underrated, I would say in the winter Olympics. Now, the Norwegians just dominate this event for the most part, and I have no Norwegian blood to speak up. So I don't think I could compete in the byathlon, but yeah, if I were to pick one that I could be good at, it would be that one. Kelly, obviously, an ice dancer, obviously, I don't really know how to answer this question.
What's the event I'd want to participate in or that I physically could? No, you want to because the answer is what you physically could is none of them zero. Yeah. Yeah. The answer is zero. So, well, Jake, like, I mean, I can cross country skiing, I can shoot a gun. Like, it's, I'm physically capable of doing that. Can I keep up with the rest of the people? No. Which, I, that you would want to then the skeleton. Oh, you just want to, you just, you just want to die. Just, yeah, yeah. Okay. I mean, if we're, if we're playing pretend like here. So here's the thing. So I'm going to go down and I'm going to, I'm not going down like, you know, feet first, like a wimp. I'm going to head first because like, yeah, let's make this dangerous thing even more dangerous. That's right. Yeah. Good for you. Well, the only sport I do actually play is hockey. I do play hockey now, not at the Olympic level. I think that would be pretty clear to everybody, but I might have been able to, to make the Italian team. I'm not sure. We're going to wait to see how good this team actually, well, and look, I thought, are they maybe going to start calling up guys with Italian sounding last names that are, you know, Canadian or American and say, Hey, let's, let's see if we can get him on
the Italian team, just like they do in the World Baseball Classic. If you know an Italian person, you could play on the, on the Italian team. So I didn't know if they were going to do that. They ultimately didn't. And they took actual Italian guys. So I don't know what this team is going to look like guys. It could look like my beardly hockey team. Me and Sommesh actually came up with what we thought to be a, a good strategy for the Italian team over the weekend, which was go find the fattest guy in all of Italy. There you go. And then put in and whatever and just plop him in front of the goal and then get two other guys to just stand it. Basically, since you know you're not going to score, your whole thing is just goal prevention. So like you're, you're not going to score. So you're just going into goal prevention mode. Okay. Like if you don't, if you never allow a goal, you can't lose. Yeah, exactly. See, that's what I'm saying. That's, that's what I would do. So we do have two women's games that are today one here in a couple of hours when the US and Canada, how are you going to play that one? Well, look, everyone gets so excited for these matchups between the Canadian women, the US women. And this is honestly one of the better rivalries to me in professional sports.
These are the only two teams that really contend ever at, at the Olympics for women's hockey. There's a massive gap between second and the rest. Now I do lean US for the tournament in terms of the gold overall gold medal. And this game isn't for gold medal. It's maybe a little bit of a teaser for what we're going to see in the gold medal game, but these ladies do not like each other. As soon as that puck drops, you're going to see the intensity in this rivalry, even though there isn't a medal on the line today, guys, I lean towards the under here at the under five and a half in this game. I just think it's a game that could tighten up. Both of these teams can score, but they can score on lesser competition. I think when they face each other, you could see the game tighten up a little bit. So under five and a half in this game is where I'm going to be at. I would give a lean towards the US, but it's a little chalky on the money line. I don't think there's any value embedding the US on the money line. So it would be the under five and a half and the under is in the women's hockey games. The guys have been a really strong play here early in the tournament. I like it, Jake. I know you got to play on the other game later today. Switzerland and Finland talk us through that one. And then what, what round are we currently in? Is this, are we still in the group round?
Are we into a limitation stages here? This is, this is still the group round. So everybody's kind of trying to put themselves in better position or ultimately the elimination round and then the metal rounds. But at the end of the day, you look back at really every tournament over the last five to six years in the winter Olympics. It's a Canada US gold medal game. I would expect no different. This time around, but there is another metal to play for guys. There is a bronze medal. So it does matter for some of these other countries. The Finland check, you know, maybe a Switzerland who actually gave Canada some issues for a while, kept it kind of close with the US for a little while yesterday as well. So there are things up for grabs for some of these other countries. But ultimately, it's a collision course between Canada and the USA and the gold medal game for the game you mentioned later, Kelly. I do like the under and that one as well. Now you could play under four and a half at plus money. If you want to lay a little bit of juice under five and a half, Finland's yet to score in this tournament. Now it should change today. They feel like they're going to find a way to at least get one pass this way. But they've really struggled to generate offense and so has Switzerland.
So I think we see another low scoring game in the women's game later today. Are we going to swap over to the men's side now? Are we going to get men talking to talk about right? Swap over to the men's side here. Jake just real quick. You we were joking. I know. But is this is this is this a two team? Is this a two team race here on the men's side or is there is there a wild card? I don't think it is a two team race, guys. Not if this is nothing like the women's side where it's very clear. Something really crazy would have to happen for one of Canada or the US, not to be in the gold medal game on the women's side. I could see a lot of different possibilities in the men's side. I think I think because we had four nations last year and that was a little bit of a taste of what's to come this year. People just assume, okay, it's going to be Canada and US. That tournament was kind of set up for them to meet in the gold medal game. And it was the success. It was a lot of fun. A crazy things can happen in this. And you know, if you look at Canada's history, there's been five times where NHL players have been sent to the winter Olympics. They've won three gold medals, but they haven't won any medals at the other two.
So they're kind of like boom or bust. They could lose in the quarter finals or they could win the gold medal. Same thing goes for the US. You can get yourself a tricky quarter final matchup against a Finland, a Czechia, even a Germany. And you run into a hot gold tender. You could lose that game. So I don't think it's as easy as Canada and US are just going to meet in the gold medal game. Let's talk about one of the teams that's definitely not going to win in that Italy. And you are going to, you're going to lay the wood in this one. Yeah, I think they're going to have a tough time, guys. I look, I could be wrong. Maybe they're hiding some, you know, Italian sensation that nobody knows about. And I'm going to watch the game and go, whoa, who is this guy? And that would actually be a really cool story. But I highly doubt that that's going to happen. I think Sweden can run it up on them. They're going to want to set the tone here, kind of get everybody going. So I like Sweden minus four and a half in that hockey game. I know it's for hockey better. It seems crazy to play a spread like that. But I just think they're significantly better than what the Italians are going to be icing out there. Two players. I'm looking at the score goal. There's some anytime goal score markets out there for a lot of these games. Adrian Kempe who's going to be playing on the top line, the top power play for the Swedish team.
Great goal score in the NHL. And I like Mika's a bandage ad. You can get him around plus 175 plus 180 in that range for a goal. He's going to be on the first power play in a shooting role. And he tends to elevate his game for for these types of situations, playing on a bad rangers team in the NHL. I think you're going to see a motivated Zabana Jad at this tournament playing with good players on this Swedish team. All right, Jake, yeah, men's tournament getting started tomorrow. I know you've got a prop play early in Finland, Slovakia. And then the US takes on Latvia is a minus 2400 favorite. Talk about Betcher looking at that game in the prop bet in Finland, Slovakia. So for the Finns game, it's almost take your pick in terms of goals. Score. I was going through some line combos and trying to find a guy that I think has some value meat. Now Mika ran into the top of the board for goal score. It makes sense. He is Finland's best offensive player, but I like Sebastian Aho price, the little bit loweries about plus 210 in that range for a goal. Excellent player. The Carolina Hurricanes best player. I think he's going to be in on a lot for that finish team.
So he would be my got my go to guy for a goal in that Finland Slovakia game. The US Latvia guys, I love the under. Now if you could play under six and a half, maybe an under seven if you could find a decent price for it. I just, I don't see how Latvia scores many goals in this game. The US should have no problem scoring at least a few and winning this game comfortably, but I struggle to see Latvia scoring more than one goal on the US in this hockey game. So that to me seems a little mispriced in terms of a total. I'll play the under and you know Latvia is just going to try to do what they can to keep this game as low scoring as possible, try to hang in. And that's kind of what Latvia does at these tournaments. So I like the under there and I like Tage Thompson for a goal. Now his goal prop for the tournament has been priced out. I jumped on it early and a lot of people had jumped on it. But is any time goal for this game against Latvia still a pretty fair price? I'd look to Tage Thompson. Jake, we got about 15 seconds. Who are two names you're looking at over there at Pebble Beach? That's perfect because I only have two names and it's Matt Fitzpatrick at about 40 to one and Sep Strakka, shop it around 65 to one.
Those are, those are two of my first darts this week. I'll have a few more by the end of the week. But Sep Strakka, Matt Fitzpatrick for me, guys. I like both of them. The point, the fantasy hockey show over on Sirius XM. You also have the fantasy on ice podcast there on NHL fantasy as well. The man of many different hats over there. Let me tell you right now. I waited the Olympics. He is Jake Khan. Appreciate the time, buddy. And good luck. Always love chat with you guys. Have a good week. Thanks, Jake. The gold medalist for the most handsome hockey handicapper in all of Canada. Thank you. A numbers game on FESET. These sports betting network. Looking through the Olympic odds here on a numbers game here on a Tuesday. Kelly and it's listed four man bobsled.
But then it's I would expect I was expecting just to get like the team. But it's it's the person. It's like individual names listed there. So like you're your theories. It maybe it's the driver. It's the driver. Yeah. I've seen cool running. So I can I can talk about this. OK. So drivers to most important. OK. Do they take turns driving? Is that what makes a good team that everybody has to drive? Once again, I've seen cool running. So I can say no, each, each individual spot is different. You need like the, you know, the push guy at the end, like that's big time. Like leg power and like actually not even cool running. So I've made jokes. I, I've seen former, former football players. A lot of the, you know, former college football players X pros, they get recruited for this type of stuff. Right? You don't even know how to do it. But it's go out there and learn how, you know, who's going to push a cart best, like a linebacker on the line, but you know, a lot of background translates pretty well over to that. Team relay loose. What does that even mean? Like you, you lose to the bottom and you tag someone and they'll start losing. And what do I mean? That's what it sounds like. There's no way that's actually what I don't, I don't, I'm going to have to like do
some reason. Like you go like a quarter of the way down the mountain and you stop and get to another lose. Yeah. How would you stop the man? This is, this is some good stuff. So I've learned. Well, they just like all the Bob sledge just hit like a, don't they just hit a flat portion and eventually run out curling Olympic futures curling. We are, we're not, we're not going to win the curling. Great Britain plus 110 to win the curling. Well I went over Canada, two to one to win the curling. You know, that all that all checks out. Actually, I think you're even getting a better, I think you're getting better, not a better odds on great Britain because they remind us money for a while. You know, for all the people who go to Ken Palm for college basketball, there's also the curling section. And I noticed a lot of Brits on that before the Olympic started Sweden, five to one, Switzerland, eight to one, Italy, 14, US 25, we, we don't curl very well, apparently. This is depressing to pull up the, I don't know that we're, that we're trailing our pace or whatever for metals, but your metal count, because I know a lot of people did bet
this. Drew was heavy on, actually, he was heavy on over on the golds and then the US to lead in gold medals. Okay. Norway has six, 11 total medals, six golds, Switzerland with five total three golds, Austria five and two golds, Italy 11 medals already, two golds, Japan seven medals, two golds, Germany two golds, Sweden two golds, and then there's the USA with two golds monobob. They do have the monobob. They have the two man, four man monobob, monobob, that's what the crew calls Robberina, the monobob. Yeah. He is a solo Bob. Solo Bob. Roberto Morina. Yes. All right, Kelly Bidlin. This is people been waiting around patiently for you to give your list of the teams that are tanking and are you going to like power rate these like it says like one tank two tank three tanks. I almost did. I almost did. The problem is is that we as we talked about so many of these teams are just doing it differently, right? They're doing it differently and I don't know yet if that leads to a front runner or
not. Now, we could take it. So I just laid out six. I don't think this is any, this isn't any massive, any massive Kelly list or anything. It's going to shock anybody. But the Washington Wizards, the Utah Jazz, Indiana Pacers, Brooklyn Nets, Sacramento Kings and Memphis Grizzlies, absolutely. All of them are on tank watch for the rest of the season. We have had a lot of these teams, I'll go through these one by one. I think that there are draft implications for some of the top ones. That's where I would probably separate Matt to your to your point. I kind of at first had these tier one, tier two based off of where where what they've done recently to acquire draft capital and what they've kind of looked like all season with this and that that specifically is the jazz, the wizards and the Pacers who just recently have made moves to acquire more draft assets. And therefore you can kind of, you kind of know where they're going to be heading. Start with the wizard. So look, this is, I kind of brought up earlier, so it's the tank in it, right? It's fine if you want to build for next year, but you bring in tray young, okay, he's
got what's the latest on trade is sprained MCL. We're still working back from no timetable for return, right? So as soon as he did that, I don't think any surprise when you saw him then make a move for Anthony Davis to bring in, okay, Anthony Davis came in town. I think he shot some pictures for social media and the website and then they sent him right back to Dallas to continue rehabbing his hand. So I really get it's going to be very, very long while if we see those guys at all, if we see them play at all this season, I think it is going to be extremely sparingly. What do you get? What do you get? You do get this time to hopefully actually develop some of your younger players going forward. So you know, they get Alex are they like, he's on George there, you know, who have been kind of leading this team all season and you get a chance to play them down the stretch. This roster is not very good though. You're obviously holding out your best players. The Washington Wizards absolutely wanted to watch out for here. They had top eight protected first picking the first round and another pick in the first. This is a team. They've been telling you all year what they were going to do basically by what the team they were rolling out and the moves that they have made.
Wizards, look, this is the market will adjust. I think each one of these we can have a further conversation. I think we, some of these teams like the Utah Jazz will be indicate to us a little bit more how they're going to play this down the stretch. I think it's different ways of possibly betting on or against all these teams, right, Matt? You know that the market will catch up from a point straight, this point spread standpoint, right? Matt's going to wildly be off, but are you including these teams possibly in money line part of lace again? So I think that is absolutely an option and one that I'll be looking at down the stretch. I think there's different ways we talked about the jazz, whether it's player props with the jazz in game, whether it's fading them in the second half or the fourth quarter or something like that. I think that's possible. They're next on the list top eight protected pick for the jazz. We went over them a lot in the first segment. So I'm not going to spend a ton of time here, but two games in a row where unlike the Wizards, they haven't sent John Jackson Jr. home. They haven't said a his ankles hurt and he needs to sit out some games. They are playing him. They are playing lorry marketing. We'll see how long that lasts. But for right now, these two are starting games and what we've seen in the past two is
that they have hit the bench in the second half and not closed out the game when their team has had leads. It is, it's amazing to witness. I don't really know what the NBA can do or if they will do anything here, but man, it sure, if your feels like a fine could be coming for this team, 17 to 37 is their record on the year 14 and 38 is the Wizards record. So different ways to attack those two teams moving forward. The jazz do of the 23rd toughest remaining strength of schedule. Pacers next on the list, Pacers and other team, right, they kind of telegraph this, this 2026 draft class is so important. If you listen to some of the, the guys that do work international basketball that work a working college basketball and project kind of these forward draft classes, 27, 28, not near, not supposed to be nearly as strong. So there is, this is why we're seeing this this year with all these teams trying to line up to try to get up there for especially those top three, top four picks. But even five through 10, there is some value.
So this one was really interesting, right? You got, you got a trade from the Pacers for to bring in a visa Zubat. They do have a first round pick, though, that is top four protected that I think it's top 10 through 20 or something like that. So it's a real gamble between the Pacers and the Clippers and where this first round pick is going to end up. Pacers though, this has been the ML season. It's not that the Pacers are truly awful. They have been taking it very slow and easy with guys coming back from injuries. Obviously, you're missing Tyree's Halberton for the season. They were aware that when Halberton was going to be out for the year, we, we wondered if we were going to see this from both the Pacers and the Celtics. We really saw this from the Pacers tip of the cap to the Celtics for putting something together this season, but the Pacers are treating this like a gap year. We're going to be bad. We're going to purposely be bad so we can come back next year with a stronger and better team than we've hopefully ever have 13 wins for the Indian of Pacers. They told you what they're going to be looking to do by making that Zubat straight top four is where their mind is set for the rest of the season. So Pacers absolutely make that list that nets.
There's not much to say about the nets. That's just bad. They're just young. They had their own or Joe Si said before the season before the season, he basically said this team is going to be taking quote, we have one pick in 2026. We hope to get a good pick. So you can predict what kind of strategy we will use for this season. That's what he said before the season. We haven't seen anything to take otherwise with the Brooklyn nets. They are 15 at 37 on the season 16 toughest remaining schedule. So they get a couple of those teams, then the wizards you can kind of pick on. I think the Grizzlies also fall into this category. Grizzlies made it very clear. Are you going to get rid of Jaron Jackson Jr. They tried to get rid of John Moran. No, we don't really have any clarity of whether we're going to how much John Moran, if any, we're going to see the rest of the season 20 wins for them. It's going to be tough for them to get down with the rest of these teams, but they're going to try 13th toughest remaining schedule. And then last one left, the Sacramento Kings who, man, you want to say they have some talent and more so than some of these other teams.
I think it's a very questionable how much we're going to see Duma to subonus the rest of the year. DeAndre Hunter, Zach Lathine, DeRose has been playing at Doug Christie. I talked about the beginning of the show. He talked about it two games ago after we had how he was really focused on developing these young players. They've just been bad. I think Doug Christie's bad 12 wins. They're kind of, they're at the bottom right now. I don't think there's any reason for them to try to remove themselves from that location. Yeah, if you look, you Memphis, two and eight in their last 10, they've lost three in a row. This is an opportunity for them to kind of, because one thing that all these teams don't have to worry about is it doesn't, they're bad. The pelicans are bad, but they don't have their pick anyway. They don't have a really matter. So they're glad you brought them up reason why the pelicans are not on that list because they don't have their pick. Yeah, so they don't have their pick. And so like, even though they're sitting 15 and 40, like, they don't care whether they win games or not. It doesn't matter. Which also just again brings it back to the pelicans of how you cannot get anything going, you're not even trying to lose and you're that bad.
This is true. But what I'm saying is, at least you know when they take the court, there's no incentive for them to lose. Yes. They might just lose because they're terrible. Yes. But there's no incentive for them to lose. Let's look at some of these early NFL odds after the Super Bowl here. Yes. Yes. Yes. Yes. But there's no incentive for them to lose. Yes. Let's look at some of these early NFL odds after the Super Bowl here.
