A chance encounter with a European kite surfing instructor-turned-Uber driver sparked one of the most profound realizations I've had recently about the balance between consumption and creation. While Miami seems like the perfect setting for water sports with its beautiful coastlines, my driver explained why his kite surfing business faced unexpected challenges. Tourists visit Miami for the scene and atmosphere, not necessarily to invest days learning a new skill before returning to their colder home cities.
