El: Στην καρδιά της Αθήνας, το ορφανοτροφείο ήταν σαν ένας μικρός παράδεισος για τα παιδιά.
En: In the heart of Athinas, the orphanage was like a small paradise for the children.
El: Τα φώτα των Χριστουγέννων κοσμούσαν κάθε παράθυρο, και οι στεφάνια από έλατα στόλιζαν την είσοδο.
En: The Christmas lights adorned every window, and wreaths made of fir decorated the entrance.
El: Αλλά αυτή τη χρονιά, το κρύο ήταν ασυνήθιστα σφοδρό.
En: But this year, the cold was unusually severe.
El: Η θέρμανση ήταν λίγη και τα παιδιά αρρώστησαν μια μέρα μετά την άλλη.
En: The heating was scant, and the children fell ill day after day.

En: Within a few days, volunteer doctors and nurses arrived at the doorstep of the orphanage.

En: On Christmas Eve, a surprise awaited Dimitra.

En: A doctor returned to Athina, carrying medical supplies.
