You’ve probably read about the Biden administration’s new IRS agents. 87,000 new IRS agents. Their salary begins a little over $50,000 per year. But there will be generous bonuses based on how much more taxes were they able to collect. Sort of like a commission that they were able to extract from people that wasn’t extracted before. These agents will also be armed and will be authorized to use deadly force. In ancient Rome the most hated people were the tax collectors because they collected not only what was due, but they also collected a percentage of whatever they were able to extract. If you’ve read the New Testament in the Bible, you know the text collectors were the most hated people among the Jewish nation. I wonder how Americans will feel about the new tax collectors that are coming after us?
