It's March 2nd, here's your Birmingham News in two minutes. A 78-year-old inmate has died while serving a life sentence at William Donaldson Correctional Facility in Alabama. He was identified by the Jefferson County Coroner's office as Donald Jackson. Earlier Friday morning, around 12.20 a.m., staff found him unresponsive in an open-dorm area. Jackson was pronounced dead shortly after, at 1.06 a.m. An autopsy showed no signs of trauma or foul play, and he had been locked up since a 2008 drug trafficking conviction out of St. Clair, County, with no chance of parole.
