About this episode
In today’s episode, we get to spend time with Chelsea and Andrew Sheer from Calgary, Alberta, Canada. The Sheer’s have been homeschooling for about five years after frustrations with how the schools and teachers were not responding, in their view, to the needs of their children. Their children were concerned with the undesirable sociality that they observed at school, and they feel that better socialization is taught and fostered and modeled in the home. Chelsea started homeschooling by basically doing what she thought was done at school and transferring it home, and she was worried about failing her children academically. But over time she has realized that what matters most is nurturing children to become happy and healthy people, and that her role is to help her children love learning and explore the wonderful world.
