アテネでは、アカデメイアにある男が入学してきた。
アリストテレス。17才。
フィリッポス2世より2才年長。ちょうどフィリッポス2世はテーベでエパメイノンダス、ペロピダスから学んでいる頃。
アリストテレスはマケドニア支配下の植民都市の医者の家系で生まれた。父親はマケドニア王の専属の医者であった。
どのような生い立ちだったかは良くわかっていないが、入学してからプラトンが亡くなるまで20年間アカデメイアで学び、講師として教えた。
アカデメイアでの彼のあだ名はヌース（知性）！余程他の生徒から見ても天才的に見えたんでしょうね。
