55: From Hiding to Healing: WHY I Started Talking About Blushing & HOW It Helps
About this episode
Six years ago, I was thriving in my corporate career—but secretly battling erythrophobia, the fear of blushing. My husband knew. No one else did. The first time I ever told someone was on an airplane, mid-flight, when I finally opened up to a co-worker I trusted. I expected judgment. Instead, she shrugged and said she’d noticed it before but never thought anything about it. That moment changed everything.
In this episode, I’m sharing the story of how that simple conversation became the start of my healing—how it led to creating Blushing Phoenix, sharing my story publicly, and eventually learning that safety isn’t about never blushing—it’s about knowing you’re okay when it happens.
If you’ve ever hidden parts of yourself because you were afraid of how people would perceive you, this is my story of finding freedom on the other side of shame.
