私はイソクラテス。
アテネの裕福な家庭で生まれ、ゴルギアス先生から修辞術を学び、ソクラテス先生から哲学を学んだ。そう。ソフィストと哲学者、両方学んだんだ。私自身は私の営みことが哲学だと思っているよ。
プラトンもアカデメイアで多くの弟子を輩出したようだが、私の弁論術の学校の方がより多くの生徒を集めて、実際繁盛しているよ。
アテネに思い入れはあるよそりゃ。生まれたポリスだもの。
しかし、今のアテネはダメだ。ギリシャ全体のことを全く考えられていない。
