48 - "Halloween" (1978)

Morning Reel

About this episode

John Carpenter's "Halloween" is a great attempt at American Horror Slasher cinema. The man who is known for writing, scoring, and directing; takes us to suburbia where in Halloween, no teenager is safe and Michael Myers doesn't care who gets sliced. I praise the film for doing its best to produce an iconic female lead led by Jamie Lee Curtis. I also talk about the cinematography and its effect of creating a character of voyeurism while at the same time framing what needs to be shown. I also talk about its use of audio in creating tone and suspense. Enjoy!
