From a very young age we are told countless lies about the purpose of committed relationships, how those relationships are developed, and what it takes to maintain them overtime. It's only as we get older and start trying to develop our own relationships that we actually realize relationships are not what we read about in fairytales, or see in movies or on social media.
Unfortunately, many of us never had anyone to teach us about how committed relationships work and so we were forced to learn through sheer observation. However, many of us we never taught to observe properly so we end up misinterpreting many other things that we see and hear.
