4 Arrested in North Alabama Drug Bust

The North Alabama Drug Task Force, with help from the Drug Enforcement Administration and other agencies, rated two homes in Brownsboro and Hunspill. They seized 1.3 pounds of opiates, 24 pounds of edizolum, 5.8 pounds of marijuana, 32 pounds of THC vape. Products, a pill press for fake pills, 255,575 dollars in cash, and 25 firearms. The operation targeted a ring-making and selling fentanyl laced counterfeit pills, along with other illegal drugs. These searches uncovered clear signs of large-scale production and distribution right in the community. People in the area are relieved but worried about the spread of these deadly fake pills mimicking prescription meds. Fentanyl mixed in has caused many overdoses nationwide, and this bust highlights the risks close to home for North Alabama families.

1:05Among those charged are 68-year-old William Jones, 49-year-old Micah Jones, 23-year-old Melissa Jones, and 26-year-old William Childress. The Jones' face trafficking counts for opiates, synthetic narcotics, and marijuana with 4.5 million dollar bonds each, while Childress, and Melissa Jones are hit with conspiracy charges and $500,000 bonds. Investigators say the probe continues with more arrests likely on the way as they dig deeper into the network.
