#38 A Raw, Real & Vulnerable Share (and part of my WHY)
About this episode
I recorded this episode in March 2024 and it's taken me a few months to ponder sharing it.
For a long time I held shame over what I share in this episode, but I know I am not alone in this experience, and wish/hope to help others in exposing my truth.
Trigger Warnings: I speak on domestic abuse (emotional, financial, physical, sexual), infidelity, birth trauma.
In this episode I speak about:
- the disbelief at my reality and the break down of my relationship
- how common abuse is and we are not taught to look out for abusive behaviour
- matrescence, patrescence and how couples can be affected
- the awful state my self-worth was in that led to me being groomed and assaulted
- our human need to be seen, heard and appreciated
The song I couldn't remember the name of was Take Care by Beach House.
Themes: domestic abuse (emotional, physical, sexual), infidelity, birth trauma
At the end, I share a poem written by me.
One of the podcasts I said I'd share is no longer available. The other is this from 'Behind The Mother Mask' with Annie Breen. Click here for Apple Podcasts and here for Spotify.
