3 Part Reflection - Motivation Monday Game Plan - #1969 (Mon. 8-31-26)

About this episode

“Send Coach John a message”

Found a great reflection post for today from The Mindfulness Meditation Institute (@TrainingMindful) where this thought was shared:  “Ability is what you’re capable of doing. Motivation determines  what you do.  Attitude determines  how well you do it.” - Raymond Chandler.  These 3 things we all can look at a bit better and look at improving them. Our abilities, yes.. We are born with them, but we can improve upon those and others with focused intent.  I for sure need to remember that Motivation is an inside job and of course that goes along with my Attitude too.  I control those and I can and I must, bet better at them.   Thanks for listening.  Please take a few moments to subscribe & share this with someone, also leave a 5 Star rating on Apple Podcasts and ITunes or other services where you find this show.  Find me on Facebook:  https://www.facebook.com/coachtoexpectsuccess/   on Twitter / “X”:  @coachtosuccess   and on Instagram at:  @coachjohndaly  - My YouTube Channel is at: Coach John Daly.   Email me at: [email protected]     You can also head on over to https://www.coachtoexpectsuccess.com/ and get in touch with me there on my homepage along with checking out my Top Book list too.  Other things there on my site are being worked on too.  Please let me know that you are reaching out to me from my podcast.  ** I would appreciate anyone to try clicking on the top of the show notes where it says "Send us a text" to leave a few thoughts / comments / questions.  It's a new feature that I'd like to see how it works. **

Hello friends, Coach Shandale here back again with you today. Actually yesterday it is a money game plan from Monday, August 31, 2026 in court of the day late. Again, stuff going on, stuff getting away, distractions. I'm allowing to slowly down, right? My fault. My hands up, I own it. The stuff going around, uh, inner house, the distractions. I own it for not finding a way to circumvent them and get these things out on time. But wanted to catch up and get this out. Uh, and since we're dealing with a motivation Monday, right? It is something from the Mindful, Mindfulness Meditation Institute. Uh, ability is what you're capable of doing. Motivation determines what you do. Attitude determines how well you do it. Raymond Chandler is the one who shared this thought. This truth. Um, hey, we're all born of different

abilities, right? Um, I'm not planning the NBA. Um, I could have worked on my game, you know, possibly an increased and enhanced that ability. Same thing playing golf. Um, I didn't have the ability mathematics science wise. I could have worked harder possibly, but it wasn't, you know, a connection for me, never a natural connection. Never was in my heart, right? Um, so abilities can be worked on. We're born with some, you know, um, some can run fast, some can do this, some can do that. And then we're born with things, but we can always enhance them, increase them, get them, get them better, right? Motivation determines what you do, right? Motivation we can work on. Motivation is not lasting. Motivation is an internal job. You know, the stuff that motivates me is different than what motivates my wife and what motivates our kids, what motivates, you know, the rest of our family, different friends, right? Um, we find motivating things in life.

We need to keep tapping into them and you need to keep creating them from the inside out. In other words, keep creating your own motivation. Yeah, you're going to find some motivating stuff out there. Hopefully like something like this got me thinking, got me motivated to do something, right? Um, if you're going to seek it, you're going to seek those things. Have the motivation inside you, that burn, right? That inside of flame, right? Um, motivation determines what you do. Okay, that's an inside job. You get to choose what you do, right? You have to be motivated to make the choice. You can be by pain, it could be by pleasure, it could be by a whole bunch of different things, right? On reasons why we do what we do. Okay? And the third part about this is attitude determines how well you do it. Right? I've had to have some, some, it attitude adjustments lately. Big time, right? Of, of getting through stuff that was either painful, um, physically draining, um, you know, different things that I had to change my attitude and my outlook. And uh, that helped

my effort on doing things, right? Uh, attitude determines how well you do it. It's one of those things weak and control. With neutral effort, we control our attitude, my friends, right? It determines, it determines how well you do it. It determines how well you do anything, right? So ability is what you capable of doing. Keep plugging away at those things, right? Motivation determines what you do. It's an inside job. There's external things out there we can tap into, but keep finding that spark inside, right? And attitude determines how well you do it. Attitude determines how I show up, how I respond to, um, a discussion with my wife, right? How I respond to, uh, troubling times of things that I have to get through, uh, and deal with, right? My attitude. That's, I've been working on that and not perfectly at all, right? Caught myself a few times even today, right? Of just taking a deep breath, taking a step back, close my eyes, right? And making that adjustment of

John, you're not going to go there. You're not going to go down and lose control of your emotions and say some things you don't want to say, right? Um, and you certainly aren't going to go do, you know, put, um, some motivation and action behind something that doesn't matter and it's not going to help you get the stuff done you want to get done, right? Choose what you have to choose, right? Work on my choices. Okay? Um, so yeah, I saw this today, Raymond Chamber, right on target, right? Good stuff out there from people that, um, have shared, uh, I'm looking to help others, right? They've been through stuff themselves and, uh, I definitely wanted to get this out to you because I needed it today, which covers yesterday. I needed it yesterday too, but I didn't have it yesterday, right? That's what I'm sharing with you today. I'm going to make it up for the, uh, the time that it was supposed to come out, but, um, yeah, hope this helps. Build is what you're capable of doing. Motivation determines what you do, add to determines how well you do it. Work on these three a little bit all over the place every day, right? It's good stuff, good stuff.

I needed that. Hope you did too. Okay? All right, you guys. Hey, just want to keep charging your head in life with you to share ideas, share, uh, some things I think about and do all upon and the flucton connect with and, and go out and use this and the other things add them in your tool belt and just keep improving and keep getting better with what you got to do. What that is, I don't know, you know, I'm trying to worry about myself, but I'm helping others too, but I got a full, full, uh, list of things I need to do for myself and to improve upon and get better at. And you do too. And I'm not here to tell you what those are, right? You know what they are. You have that conversation with you and the person in the mirror, in your mirror, right? These are things just to help and that's what I'm always looking to do because I'm finding things that help me and hopefully they're helping you too. All right, I love you guys. Proud of you guys. I'm in your corner. Just always take care of yourself and each other. We'll talk again soon. See you.
