3:02And then the injuries man, I mean, I've been talking about this. I've had a theory on this for a long time. We lose, you know, just two star players. It happens all the time. So we'll dive into that. The Netflix game, which is happening Friday, Australia, but there's a night for us. San Francisco, the Rams. We'll talk some other football stuff as well as a couple of mail bag questions. We'll have ourselves a podcast. So you guys know the drill at John Middlokoff. The Seattle sea hawks with an all time muscle flex, which still might be a big picture disaster. But beat the New England Patriots with their backup quarterback, Drew Lock, who's done this before on prime time years ago when he beat the Philadelphia Eagles.

4:09We'll dive into everything here. Obviously Seattle, Darnell, AJ Brown got injured, the New England Patriots, Drake May, lot going on. But let's just start and you guys know the drill. Make sure you subscribe. Make sure you like the video. We'll have a lot of more content up on the the old YouTube page throughout the football season. But we talk about culture a lot in football. It's not just a buzzword. I mean, every coach, every franchise, every all the team captains, all the star players are culture or culture. What we stand for, what it's like in the building, the way we're wired. And I get it. Like every team wants to be tough and every team wants to be physical. The Seattle sea hawks team culture has kind of been consistent for 15 years. I mean, they, and it starts with John and the players they acquire. And obviously Mike now who I was thinking tonight, if you did a draft, right, we talk so much about the offensive play colors.

5:15But the defensive play colors, most of them are coordinators. Flores, Fangeo, you know, Stala's now a head coach. And so is Aaron Glenn. But it's a lot of the guys. If you look around the league, you know, Mike McDonald became the first head coach to ever win a football that also called the defense. Because usually that guy turns into a CEO head coach. He is Shanahan McVeigh, you know, Andy Reed, Sean Payton on defense. If you did a draft, you could have any deep guy call your defense. Mike McDonald would be the universal choice. And the culture that was on display tonight, you loser starting quarterback on the first drive of the game. I think we all think it when he's kind of limping off after he gets tackled. And then when they come back from break after the New England Patriots punted and drew lock stand in there and he's walking the locker room, you went, that's not good.

6:17And by halftime, every player knows and I'm sure once they go in reports that we'll get into San Bernard here in a minute. He had to go to, you know, a hospital to get further evaluation on his hip. I'm recording this at night. So I mean, who knows the information that will come out over the next 12, 24 hours. That's pretty scary. I think everyone kind of goes through head like we might not see him the rest of the year. We might not see him for another couple months. Who knows? That's what the players are thinking. And the franchise, the team, the players, they never flinched. Hell, they were down 10, nothing in the third quarter. And I never felt for one second their effort, their play calling. I mean, offensively, you are kind of limited when you're starting quarterback immediately goes out. And you have a first time play caller who everyone's been talking about 46, 47 years old, little late to the game. But that's got to be pretty jolting. This is what I always talk about. This is a head coach.

7:17I would say the same thing goes for a coordinator. No one prepares you for that. There is no preparation in life. The first time on national television with probably 30, 40 million people watching. Sam Darnold is just gone. And Drew Locke is by the end of this game. I think we would all agree a high end backup. Got to be in the in the running for one of the best backups in the NFL. I was texting with a bunch of nine or people like Mac Jones obviously good backup. Drew Locke has a better arm. So Drew Locke can make plays that Mac Jones just can't because he has more velocity with his arm when he's moving and rolling out and throwing is a big part of his game. And he was pretty good tonight. Now there were some penalties, some delay a game stuff. But that's going to happen when I don't know. Sam Darnold has been taking all the rep for a month. And one of the delay games came on a crazy ass scramble, which is kind of a thing that happens a lot. And football, whether it's a starter or the backup, but like that to me was the ultimate culture win.

8:17A bunch of absolute bad asses playing their balls off when they're starting quarterback is no longer in the stadium. A guy that we all anointed of like Sam Darnold hasn't just turned his career around. He's become a franchise quarterback when they rank him 14th on that sando list. I think most people agree like that feels too low. And he's just gone game one. You know Tom Brady once tours ACL game one, the New England Patriots 2008. And they kind of held it together. They won 11 games. That was a weird year. They ended up not making the playoffs. But I'm thinking watching this team even before they ended up winning. I mean, at one point in time, it didn't feel like they were going to win. Like this is a team that's not going to go away. They're going to play their balls off on defense. They're definitely going to have the best scheme on defense because their defensive coordinator can dial up these blitzes from all angles. You got no clue what's coming. Even worried, didn't even play. They got random backups in their secondary to go along with some of their star players.

9:17They're defensive line. You got to get the Patriots some credit. I mean, Will Campbell got absolutely crushed for the last, I don't know, eight, nine months. Look at how he played pretty well. Gotta watch the tape. But he was holding his own. The rest of the offensive line, like Drake May wasn't just like under duress every single play. That was not the downfall of his night. So I have so much respect for everything the Seattle Seahawks franchise has turned into in this second iteration like they kind of stood for that during Pete Carroll. And now they've morphed into it with Mike McDonald. Now, they're not winning the Super Bowl. If Sam Darnal never comes back, I picked him to go back. I would obviously not expect them to go to the Super Bowl. If Sam Darnal is just gone and just never returning. Or even if like he can come back way later and who knows if he's ever the same. I mean, hip injuries are pretty scary. One of the greatest athletes in the history of this country. His career was ended with a bad hip injury, Bo Jackson. But crazy part is didn't even look that bad.

10:19But clearly you just never know. I mean, this is football and guys are big and fast and all of a sudden boom. It's over. So I have so much respect for Seattle winning that game tonight. And their defense making plays in the secondary carried them. The punter was incredible. JSN, what a stud. Price kind of they just stopped giving him the ball. But he was awesome early in this game. Cooper Cup made, I mean, what a catch. He made over his shoulder. Made another big play late in the game on a first down even Collinsworth gave him a lot of credit. Coming back to the ball and getting the first down. So how tipped at the Seattle sea hawks. That was that's one of those moments. A lot like the last time Drew Lock won the game on Monday night football. Tough place to play man. It really is. Let me tell you about our new friends. The playoffs were rough.

13:27You can see it with Drake May throws a pretty ball moves well, tough as shit can make plays just out of nowhere with his legs. Lot to work with as a young player. But he was second in MVP voting last year. And what you do that and you're a young guy. I think a lot of people go this guy can be like a top five six quarterback in the NFL. I think we need to pump the brakes a little bit. Seattle's tough place to play elite defensive coordinator. Excellent defense even if they got some backups in the secondary. If you throw a red zone pick with the game on the line. When a field goal sends it to overtime. That's something to blow average guys do that. That's an inexcusable mistake to throw that game ending pick. And the first interception he threw to Romeo dobs. I don't exactly look at Romeo dobs. I know Collins worth called them like a jump ball contested catch make plays in traffic.

14:27Maybe I got to go back and watch some of his previous targets with green Bay. Not really how I think of them. I don't know like Anquan Bolden Larry Fitzgerald DeAndre Hopkins AJ Brown. I don't feel that's Romeo dobs. A lot like the play that he dropped the ball. That to me is more him crossing routes get him the ball. Let him make plays with the ball in his hands. They may my scouting reports wrong, but just throwing the ball up to him in double coverage. Like that's on Drake May. Now it's not his fault that he dropped the ball. But then the very next play like that's that's a routine interception for love. He picked that thing off in stride and obviously the ender. And he made some nice plays throughout the game. But at one point in time in the third quarter when I felt like Seattle like they're going to lose this game like 10 to 3. They were out gaining New England. It's not like New England's offense was great by any means. I mean, looking at the box score here.

15:27Drew Lock 187 yards. He threw for more yards and Drake May. Now Drew Lock gets a lot of yards on the one big JSN play. But like who would you say was better down the stretch? Who was making better decisions down the stretch? Drew had some penalties on delay games, which is 100% going to happen to any backup quarterback thrust into action in any game. Not giving him a pass, but like I'm not holding that one like he Sam D'Arnold. I think we would judge Sam D'Arnold differently. He outplayed Drake May. There's no way around it. I get AJ Brown goes out. But it's not like he was forced feeding AJ Brown unlimited targets when he was in the game. I wouldn't AJ Brown have three catches. AJ Brown, yeah, three catch for 26 yards. But that's rough because if you said, hey, their offensive line is going to play really well. And Sam D'Arnold is going to go out the first play of the game.

16:27I think that immediately becomes a must win game for New England. And at one point in time, when I felt like New England was going to win a kind of an ugly game, I was like, that's a great win for New England. Me not picking them to make the playoffs. Like I might have to rescind that. You get a win on the road in Seattle. That's a big time win. You're just going to obviously get way more wins at home. You're going to win some games against shitty team. I thought you were a 9-10 win team. Now maybe that's 11 this year. Now you're thinking like, there's two things going. A lot of people are going, what the fuck was that Drake? And one of their big free agent moves, Romeo Dobbs, everyone's going to hate the guy. Like Boston, Philly, New York, when you get off to a terrible start in football game one in a situation like this, people are just going to be down on you. And we'll see what AJ Brown's injury status is. But if he's MIA for a while and he's a guy who's been injured before and missed a bunch of games, hopefully he's okay. And he's got a longer week right? Cause you get a mini buy plan on Wednesday.

17:29But holy moly like hey Romeo, we might depend on you a little. You get Henderson back, right? You miss the game and they called him a practice squad running back who definitely is going to add more of an explosive element to their offense, running the ball and throwing the ball out of the backfield. But that's one if you're a Patriot fan. Like if you're a Seattle fan, you have so much pride. You have so much like that was that who we are. And if you're a New England Patriot fan, you go, what just happened to us? Your defense is good. Chris, Chris, Chris, Alice is a star. The front seven is just, I mean, they don't have Javon, Kurs, or Miles Garrett running around, but they're well coached physical team. They're a good team. But can I trust the quarterback against good teams and big spots on the road? Can I trust Romeo Dobbs? Is AJ Brown going to be on the field? Tough man. He saw Mike Vrable going over and talking to him.

18:30He clearly trying to keep his head up because I can't have you go into the tank September night. We got to get this together. And I'm not acting like he's some scrub right right him off. But that was eye opening. I don't want to hear about it for a while about him being some elite in the sport. The other thing that I've been saying this for a while is the injuries in the NFL are outrageous. And we've seen guys drop like flies now for years. It is clear that the way football is set up with the rules and the practices that no one can build up the calluses in practice. No one tackles to the ground. No one does anything live anymore. And nobody plays in the preseason. So if a guy does play in the preseason, we saw a lot of this like bigger may field or Justin Herbert or party. They'd play like a series. Like well, what if you went three and out?

19:31Well, a lot of coach back, run him back in. We want to get a couple first downs. They wouldn't even put him back in the game. So you have no game ready feel for the speed of the actual tackles. Somehow Seattle and New England's defenses do. But the offensive guys, their bodies are just in positions that I think they're not comfortable being in because they haven't played tackle football. And these two teams were the last game of the season and you know, nine, eight months. I got to do the math on the exact February march. You know what I mean. It's been a while. And back in the day, and I don't even mean like the 70s or the 80s, I'm talking to 2000s. You would do double days in camp where you would hit and tackle. And then guys would play in the preseason. So when they get to the games, because let's face it, Sam D'Artle and AJ Brown, both of them felt like pretty innocuous basic plays, especially Sam's. And I was texting someone this tonight like, if you think teams are cautious and scared,

20:33the way they practice, their physicality of not getting anyone injured, and then no one plays in the preseason games, the salary cap is only going to keep growing at an exponential rate. It's going to go up 30, 50, 80, 100, 200 million over the course of the next five, six, 10 years, right? Guys are going to make more money than ever. They're only going to keep getting richer until the league one day just maybe implodes. But for the foreseeable future, these guys are going to get richer and richer, meaning these teams are like, no touching anybody. I mean, one of the most famous plays, which I understand everyone does it, was the clip from Hard Knocks when Mike was yelling at Hall to not even get close to the quarterback. And then Sam gets tackled again, pretty normal looking tackle, but no one's ever allowed to touch these guys. And maybe you can tackle up two freak injuries. But these freak injuries are happening nonstop all the time. And the league doesn't give a shit. They're never changing the rules. The NFL PA loves their off days and no pads, no training camp racks.

21:38I do think it's, if you want to talk about the downfall of football, if every single game, like, who are the most famous players coming into this game? If you just did a top five, or Sam Donald and AJ Brown one and two, like his Drake may more famous than AJ Brown. I don't think so, not yet. If you want to argue, okay, so it's one, two, three, Sam Drake, AJ, because AJ is definitely the third most famous player, non-cord back in this game. And two of them are just lost for the game. And it doesn't even feel like, God, that never happens. It happens all the time. The NBA is a great example. Load management is a core philosophy now with all these teams. Yet the NBA is more injuries than ever. And if you look back, when I grew up on basketball, the 90s and the 2000s, guys would play 10 straight years, 75 baby games every year, and go to practice. So it's like, the science, the science, the science, oh, I ever fucking hear.

22:41I don't know, who's the scientist? Because I'm watching this. Guys are getting fucking dropping like flies every game we watch. And you get to a point where you get to November and December in these prime time games and half the good players are gone. Like, that's a problem. I'm not claiming to have some solution because they're not going to change the practice. But this problem is not going to change because the game starts. You see a hard New England in Seattle, we're playing on defense. Those two teams played on defense like their, every guy on defense, all 11 guys on both teams, their job was online. They would get cut if they didn't run into the ball. The game cackling, the tackling of this game was fantastic because they did two good defenses. There are a lot of good defense in the league. There are a lot of guys, even on the bad teams, that will hit your heart. But no one gets hit anymore. So how do you get used to getting hit when you never get hit? I never played in the NFL. I'm not acting like a tough guy here. I just know that I'm a consumer. And I've watched football now for 30 years.

23:41And it does feel that we have several years of evidence now. It's getting worse and worse. And maybe it's Seattle. I know they put it in the grass field for FIFA. They play on turf. Maybe it's something like that. Could the grass help? I don't know. But that sucked. Okay, this segment is presented by my friends at trees.com. Use the code three. Because it's always cool like have a backup that you like. And then all of a sudden you're starting quarterback gets injured. And it happens all the time. Look at last year. We had two, you know, Brock Tirti and Joe Burrow got turf toe. It ended the Bangal season immediately.

24:4349ers? No issue. They had a good backup and Mac Jones on a two year seven million dollar contract. What was he worth to the 49ers? $50 million? $100 million? I mean, one a bunch of games which enabled them to be good by the time Purdy got back. And then they made the playoffs in one game. Drew Locke. Like, listen, do I think he could just throw multiple touchdowns every game and have no drop off? Of course not. There's a reason he's the backup. But when you're back up proves because once I mean, he had to be a little nervous all of a sudden you realize you're going in the entire game's left. And then you proved to your team. A team that's the defending Super Bowl champs who's got high end players everywhere. Who's got one of if not, I mean, we can say this about like five wide receivers, one of the elite wide receivers in the league. You got a new play caller. So you got a lot of moving parts. Everyone's kind of like what's going on. And by the end of the game, you go, Drew was a badass.

25:43He made a couple throws where he got hit. And to me, it's obviously for his confidence to get some momentum. But it gives the entire building confidence because now all your star players on defense, they all believe in the guy. Takes a little pressure off your offensive coordinator that everyone probably would have been down at. Down on. Takes pressure off your head coach who let's face it like depending on how long this Donald's is. And how long this Donald situation, everyone would freak out. It's a very powerful moment. You could make the argument when you win a game with your backup quarterback. If you're a good team, like bad teams throughout of it, it doesn't necessarily matter. But like playoff teams. That's worth like a win and a half. It's it's worth more than a win. Like that window Seattle. When Drew Locke essentially played the entire game. Feels bigger than one game. And it also feels like, okay, because of the way we're built, we can win like this. Remember, Aaron Rogers when he tore the Achilles on Monday night years ago for the Jets? They won that game.

26:44People forget they won that game. But everyone kind of knew like this is over. The thing was Seattle's like, yeah, if Drew Locke had to start the rest of the season. You know, our expectations probably changed a little bit. But like this ain't over guys. This is not over. Now it might it might not be a court warners or quarterback. We're going to win with court warner. But this is like, we can win 10 games. We already got one. So congrats to Drew Locke. I love it when backup quarterbacks come in on good teams. Look good, play good in win games. What a powerful moment for kind of Seattle to come together tonight. 30:56Let's just start because yesterday in terms of this Australian game, we discussed the if the 49ers were to win. They have acted like ambassadors over there in Australia because they have been there for what feels like two weeks. Is the NFL will want to do this again because they know the teams, it's a copycat league. We'll just do exactly what the 49ers did if it worked and be over there for seven eight days, which you know the first couple the players are mandated to day off. During the work week, they become ambassadors of the NFL. It's like a kind of gorilla marketing, a barn storming tour. It's an easy deal for the NFL. If this game goes well, now I it'll be fascinating to see what it looks like on television. I heard Matt Barros who covers the 49ers. You know, the field shape is more oval because of the sports they play on this field. And obviously when you cut a football field, I think some of the angles the stands are going to be pretty far away.

32:01But I'm a big golf guy and live that just filed for bankruptcy. The one thing they have to hang their hat on really too, but their biggest event by far was down in Australia. Obviously Australians are just an active bunch. They like sports. You know, and there have been events, you know, from a golf standpoint, obviously a rugby standpoint. You do big events down there. People enjoy it. And if this goes off as a quote unquote hit, I think they do this again next year. My guess is in 2024, assuming this game goes off in terms of not necessarily the production and the actual game is going to be fine. But it feels like Australia can back this event with fan interest people around. I think a bunch of people, like 50% of people attending this game are from the states. You know, flying in to watch the Rams in the 49ers. I would imagine there's going to be a lot of 49er fans.

33:02My guess is this kind of turns into a 49er home game is part of it is, you know, the 49ers and their barnstorming tour of being over there forever. They probably just got a lot of random people that are indifferent. Like, yeah, the team is guys seem cool. And I think the NFL in 2027, my guess would be whoever wins a suitable plays Wednesday and hosts a good opponent. And then Thursday is like a good game. You know, it's like Joe Burrow against Lamar Jackson. It's the Dallas Cowboys against the Philadelphia Eagles. It's the Green Bay Packers against the Chicago Bears. It's the bills against the Patriots. Like, if I was a betting man, assuming this pops on Netflix with the fans and it looks cool, I think they go back again next year because they didn't just randomly go to this market. And if this market works, the only time you could really do it is week one because of the travel, I think they double down. And they've showed week one. They went to Brazil. I guess they're going to Brazil again this year.

34:04I think they will go back to Australia. So my prediction right now is the season opens exactly like it did this year with the Super Bowl champ on Wednesday and the Australia game on Thursday. Let's dive into the game. And we got a lot going on. You know, big picture for this matchup, you got two guys that are directly connected. Honestly, there's a lot of connections. You know, Sean McVeigh worked for Kyle Shanahan. Rahim Morris also worked on that staff for Mike Shanahan. He's very open like his, he's very close with Sean McVeigh. He considers Kyle Shanahan one of his best friends. He was the defense coordinator for Sean McVeigh when they won the Super Bowl. And now he's coaching for Kyle Shanahan. So the connection of these guys like they know each other, each other extremely well. And Kyle Shanahan had a lot of success early on against Sean McVeigh. Sean's rattled off some wins over the last couple of years.

35:05But in their career playing each other in 18 games, not counting the NFC Championship game. Kyle's won 111, Sean's 1 7. Now Kyle would gladly trade that record to have the one game in the NFC Championship where Sean went on to win the Super Bowl. But this is a matchup. If you look at last year, like Kyle Shanahan beat Sean with Mac Jones as his quarterback, it was one of the crazier wins of the year. Right. Obviously the 49ers bought by the end of the season got their ASCIC twice in three weeks against Seattle. It might have been four because of a buy. But I guess it would have been three because they played him the last game of the season. Then the 49ers beat the Eagles and they played him again. So two times in three weeks and they got housed. I forget the combined score. I mean, the playoff game was like 50 to seven. And the final game was I think 13 to three, but it was not that close. They got worked and they were under manned outclassed and it was embarrassing.

36:07But that's what everyone thought when the 49ers went to LA with Mac Jones. I think Bosa just been injured. Maybe Fred Warner just been injured too. I can't even keep up with their injuries and they beat him. And by the end of the season, that cost the ramps because they had so much pressure in that game against Seattle when they lost it, it kind of derailed them. Now they ended up losing to Atlanta that it wouldn't have mattered anyway. But I just think that week one, also week one, the 49ers beat Seattle week one. So to me, Kyle Shanahan, a huge advantage the 49ers have who on paper are going to have left town. They just are and they have a lot of unknowns, right? George Kittle in theory is going to play in this game coming back from the Achilles. Nick Bosa's basically he started training camp coming, came in great shape. Trent Williams like best he's looked that all of a sudden he couldn't practice for like a month. And even now it's like, is he practicing? Is he not practicing these limiting practice? You just don't know. He claims he's full goal.

37:07He's got this 10 to 9 is with the name. He's torn as ACL like six times over the course of his life. The 49ers have a ton of question marks. But if they're main core guys like throughout the season, who knows? I mean, the defining, I would say attribute of this franchise right now. It doesn't feel like Kyle Shanahan and success. Even though since he's been there by the third year, they went to the Super Bowl. They have been really successful. They've won a lot of games, a lot of playoff games, road playoff games. Kyle Shanahan is considered one of the best coaches in the league. Yet injuries are like just are something that is stamped on the side of this franchise right now. You know, we all make fun of the substation and who knows what's true or not. But regardless, we just know guys get hurt constantly. And I saw this tweet from Eric Branch that I see I exit out.

38:08Luckily, I remembered it. The 49ers who just lost Alfred Collins yesterday to a torn knee. They drafted him last year in the second round. Well, who's their first round pick? Mikel Williams out of Georgia. And the 49ers were bad the previous year. So they had the they went six and 11. I think they had the 11th pick. They were drafting high in the second round. Where's he? He's on pop because he tore his ACL last year. Where's their first rounder from the year before? Oh, Ricky Pearceau. Where's he? Oh, out for the year. Torn knee. It's like over the course of the season, I would be very concerned that their young talent is going to be non-existent because a lot of the guys just are gone. Now, who, how good Alfred Collins is going to be? No one knows. He was coming back off an injury during training camp. But in that Rams game, did they won at the one yard line when it looked like the Rams were going to hammer home a touchdown and win the game? What happened? Collins forced a fumble from Kirwan Williams or Kirwan Williams.

39:10And I mean, flip the game. That was a huge reason they won. So I just think this injury thing, it's always the elephant in the room with the 49ers. Like at any moment, dude, you're just practicing in Australia. There's no substation in Australia. At least that I know if could be a data center somewhere, could be some sort of a Wi-Fi flying around. You just lose a defensive tackle to a torn patella. Listen, I feel like that happens to no one else. I clearly guys get hurt in practice over the course of football. It does feel like it happens to the 49ers more often than anyone else. And the other thing is, like these games, are these guys going to be able to play the whole game? That's always the question mark. Okay, Nick Post, the 10 and 9th is, that's really practice. Then he plays in the game. Like, is he just playing 45-50 snaps? Or is it one of those things like he played a first series, then he feels weird he can't really go? Like, are they full-go with George Gittle? Or is he just playing 30-40% of the snaps?

40:11Which is more understandable coming back from the Achilles. Christian McCaffrey, is he just 100%? Just feed him the ball? Give him 20-25 touches? Mike Evans, who's battled injuries in practice? I mean, I hate doing this, but it's just, it's just part of the fabric of this first game. It's just a fabric of this franchise. Not that the Rams don't have those. Miles Garrett's been banged up. But I just expect when Miles Garrett plays for the Rams, he'll just look like Miles Garrett. Matt Stafford had a back injury. And then all of a sudden it went away. And he played the entire season. And he won the MVP. Devon Tase battled some hamstring injuries, something to keep an eye on. Right? But other than that, like I just expect, I like the 49ers in this game because I think it's a kitchen sink game. I do have some big picture question marks with just health. And it's something that no other team feels like is as big of a deal every single snap. And the other thing with the 49ers, I can see him winning the game. And then two days later on a conference call is like, yes, a couple things cropped up with this guy, that guy, and the next guy.

41:16Like what? Can I play the whole game? The 49ers lead the league in that. Of a guy playing the entire game. He scored a touchdown leading the game in tackles. And then Kyle two days later being like, yeah, something popped up. He's going to be touching go this week. Like what? He's looking incredible. Or it's like, yeah, he just broke his leg. When did he break his leg? The 49ers have the bow nicks, that incident that happened last year. When just came out of left field, you're like, what? He broke his ankle? Like I saw him do the kneel down. Win the game. He's like, yeah, it just broke. 49ers have one of those like twice a month. So I, it's just a huge, huge part of this franchise that is a big issue over the course of the season. They're young talent, big issue over the course of the season. In a one game scenario, Nick Bosa, George Kittle, Brock Purdy, Mike Evans, you know, Debo Samuel, who's look good, Fred Warner, like a, they can win this game.

42:17And they've proven it to be under man. This is where these divisional games, like there are some divisional games this weekend, like Washington Eagles. I think mid season, the Eagles win that game like eight, nine out of ten times. But we go and get weird. But this divisional opponent more than most, it was like Tomlin and Harbaugh. Like they just know each other really, really well. But there aren't that many didn't see that coming. Now, obviously there might be a play that you didn't see coming because you've had the entire off season to prepare, to, you know, wheel and deal and practice in the film room on the whiteboard. But I just think this is, you need your star players to make plays. And I think question mark is how, or how healthy are the star players for the 49ers? You know, we, my only question mark with, with the Rams is like, you're telling me like Matt Stafford, who is almost 40 years old, is just completely unfazed by 16, 17 hour play and write. I understand it with a 24 year old.

43:19Slam a Gatorade, have a double shot of espresso. I heard they're fantastic in Australia. And just play the game. Like, okay, that's, you're young, you can bounce back. But some of the Devante. And one big thing with this travel, I talked to a buddy who just had to go to Bali. I don't know, I don't even know why I was there. I thought he was there for work, but maybe he was there for a wedding. And he was telling me that he had, he went through Australia on his way home. And he did that flight just the opposite way. And he said, I've never been more thirsty in my entire life. He's like, what I, I was just begging for water, the entire time trying to flag people down to get a drink. And by the time I got off, I felt like I just had ran a marathon. I was so thirsty. And Colin mentioned this on the podcast that he, I'm sure the Rams will have like an IV station where they will force you to maybe take two of your older player. I don't know. But I still just think that's a major, major question mark that the travel thing was some of their older players.

44:19But to me, the question mark with the Rams is like, isn't really going to be this easy? The whole, like, they're just the super team. They're just the team that no one's ever had the reigning MVP and the reigning defense player on the same team. Devont Adams led the league in touchdowns. Puka has been one of the best players in the league for the last several years. Say what you want about him. I, I don't even know half these people. It's like streamer, a Zion or neon. It's like, maybe I'm old. I got no clue who that is. There are a lot of things I've noticed lately. Maybe it's just, you know, I'm probably less online with the kid. Now the football season starts a more kind of tunnel vision focused. Sometimes I see a story about something controversial or something. I'm like, I don't even know what I have to like, I can't even fall. It's like when I try to me and my wife are talking like she'll tell me some Bravo story.

45:19I'll tell her some football story. You kind of have to explain it step by step. That's what I feel like on some of these just random stories going on. I feel like that every single time I read something about Puka with a streamer. I'm like, I, I, full disclosure, I got no clue with this person. This, I don't know their resume. So like judging them from the angle of like, you can't go on with that guy. Who is that guy? And I, I just don't believe that like some 62 year old beat reporter has any clue. They're like, you cannot do a podcast with this guy. It's like, tell me all about this streamer because you don't know anything about him. Neither do I. I'm saying he's a good or bad guy. We don't know anything. You know, you just, you just fucking googling it. I mean, Dejon loves, if you googled it, he said he was on the 49ers. Right? So I, I think you got to be careful about doing that. But I think that's the question. Like, they're a Super Bowl favorites. Everyone thinks they're the best team in the league. And this happens. I mean, this has been happening with the bills and the Ravens for like three or four straight years.

46:22They're just like, they're going to win the Super Bowl. They are the favorites in the AFC. It's like, are they? Are they, are we sure? It's usually not how it happens. And guess what? It didn't happen. So I'm just very hesitant in football. And in college football, if you have one of the best rosters and you have a good coach, you're basically guaranteed to be good. But we have seen a lot of really good coaches in the history of the NFL have rough seasons. Like over a 15 year span, did Saban ever have a bad year? Like, what was his worst year like 10 and three? It's not like he ever had a six and six season. Kirby smarts had like, God, that just, that was not good enough. It's like, you're in the second round of the playoffs. You're in the final four. Right? It's, so it's like the expectations to call it your guaranteed. Like, it's, it's really, really difficult. If you have the equivalent of what the Rams have to have in NFL terms, a nine and eight season.

47:29But in the NFL, it happens all the time. The Ravens last year. What fucking eight and nine? So the chiefs, now, I think it's a little different. They had been to five Super Bowls. They had been to however many straight conference championship games. You eventually run out of gas. But I, I just think that whenever anyone pencils you in to be great and just run through the league, and the other thing is their divisions are Kaushan and 11 and seven against them. Obviously, Seattle beat him multiple times down the stretch. Now, you can say the one in Seattle on Thursday night was a little fluke. True. But the other elephant in the room back to the Puka thing, it's like because of all the weird stuff going on. Right? I think he also said he ran through a glass window that, you know, a door. It's like, what bro? I've never done that. Not of age. Maybe when I was like, nine, you run through a screening or something. But it's like, what's going on? He has the amount of money these white receivers are getting paid.

48:33There's a lot on the line for this guy. And sometimes in these contract years, the way he plays could have get weird. If he gets a little dinged up, you know, Aaron Donald didn't make this trip. What does he look like? You just, you just take a couple years off in your mid 30s and you just come back. It's like the greatest player of all time. I don't know. Now, in fairness, they weren't necessarily depending on him. If that, if he had never come back, I don't think we would talk about the Rams that much differently. But he does add a little level of expectation. I'm, you know, as Miles Garrett, expecting him to be awesome. What does Trent McDuffy look like in their defense? Yeah, I mean, they've had the same unlike, you know, Kyle's gone through some defensive coordinators. He said a bunch, right? Obviously he would have had solid, but he got a head coaching job. So he left, but he has to get Rahim Moore, who has some different views on different guys. So you kind of have some personnel movement at certain positions where, you know, he was very hesitant to put Shula in the defensive coordinator position because they were like best friends going back to college. He finally did it. It's worked really well. And he's been really good.

49:33And he seems like a really high level guy. So it's their cohesion on their staff. I mean, they always lose some offensive guys, but it's like whatever. Like, the deal was Sean and Kyle losing a, the floor, losing a kubiak like that, they'll just replace him with the next version. My issue always for those guys on defense. Do they lose a coordinator who they replace him with? What's his background? How good is he? Obviously Rahim has a lot of, you know, a lot of experience, but this is a, you know, he'd been a head coach for a couple of years and it didn't really go well. Everyone loves the guy, but you know, I think when you become a head coach, it's hard to judge you on your scheme, but someone was just missing with the Falcons. And in fairness, his general manager was awful, but I think Fortnite is one of the game. I do. Not because I think over the course of the season, the 49ers are going to be better.

50:34They got some question marks and their guys go down all the time. But in game one, you know, if I would have told you the 49ers, I was just like good teams, the way it looked by the end of the year, what they did in the first game against Seattle at Seattle. So this is, I just do also believe in the plane thing. Like being there forever, getting acclimated, I do think that's important. Maybe I'm proven wrong, maybe Sean's a genius, and if he is, then who knows? Maybe they won't go back to Australia. I just mean the NFL because no team will ever go before like 24 hours before. 51:35it's weird, the Rams are like a bigger national brand than they are a local brand. Right? They've been the Chargers are really more talked about like nationally than they ever are in their own market. Like I was having spent a lot of time not the last couple of years down in Southern California. The NFL is just, it's a bit like the stadium and the event is a big deal. But like they're breaking down the Dodgers and the Lakers. They're talking Mark Walters. They're not breaking down the secondary for the Rams. Honestly, if Lincoln Riley could ever get USC going, they'd be a bigger deal. Why? They've been there forever. USC didn't like, you know, remember when USC moved to Arizona for like seven years? No, they left. It's understandable. It's why the 49ers sell out when they go to Sofie. Because you guys were gone forever in St. Louis. So I just think this game, I think it's gonna be a night or home game. I think Kyle's just, they're all in on this game. I think it's huge. And I think the way Chumick Vays handled is just weird. I mean, I know it's worked in other situations, but going to Jacksonville,

52:38I'm sorry, it's just different than going to fucking Australia. So 49ers to win the game. Yes. One that I like is Mike Evans anytime touchdown. If you say yes at 31%, it basically pays three to one. So $100 is like $307. I think Mike Evans, one problem the 49ers had for like a stretch of like two or three years, is their wide receivers were not great red zone targets. Like Debo scored when he broke a bunch of touchdowns, or I mean broke a bunch of tackles and made sweet plays. Same thing with Brandon at U, like running routes. But like, Kittle was kind of their red zone guy. Or just like give it to McCaffrey 10 times, you know, inside the 20, throwin' or hand it off to him. But they've never had a guy that looks like him that you can just throw an alley Upe to. Just throw the ball high, have him high point the ball, and it's why they were very, very aggressive to get him.

53:40You know, it's one thing the Rams have with Devante. He's not as tall as Mike Evans, but like, you can just throw him a fade. You can throw him a 50-50 ball, and just go Devante make a play. And he's been doing it his entire career, because he has great ball skills. And he can high point the football. It's a major skill that certain guys have that separate them. When you have that great ball skills, and Mike Evans has built like an NBA player, like it's advantage offensive player, because Richard Sherman ain't walkin' through that door for any of these teams. Most of these teams are tall corner for them, it's six feet tall. The other thing is, 48.5 feels like a lot of points to me for just a weird game. Because whether I'm a believer in Kyle Shanahan being there forever, whether you're like Sean McVase of Genius for going right before, the game is still being played at 10 in the morning in Australia. So I could see the thing being a little weird.

54:42I could see just it being a little awkward for a while. And as over the course of the game, maybe guys poop out. Are we really getting a 28 to 20 type game, a 30 to 25 game? Would it shock you if it's like 10, 7 and a half time? So I'm hammerin' no on 48.5, because again, that just feels like. I mean, it just, that's my logic there. So I can't wait for this. 58:50Let's get some news. I don't want to take a victory lap, but I've been doing this long enough that there are certain stories that you can just go, I see where this is going. And it was clear when they signed Kyler Murray, Kyler Murray was going to be the quarterback. He was going to be the starting quarterback in Minnesota. That was a foregone conclusion the moment he signed his veteran minimum contract. And the reason it was that much money obviously is because Arizona is paying it. But I'm sure if he would have been, no, they would have given him $10, $15 million, whatever. Whatever, you know, the bridge quarterback they did with Donald. He was going to be the starter. And then it goes, if you don't believe this guy is good enough to run your offense because he's not going to be your starter, you don't believe that as a young player. Do you feel comfortable enough having him one snap away with the guy who has long list of injuries to run your offense?

59:53And I kept saying, no, they don't trust JJ McCarthy to run the offense. So the moment that he wasn't named the quarterback, like officially when Kevin O'Connell came out and said, Kyler Murray is our quarterback. The first thing I asked, like, he's not going to be the backup. Why do you think they just gave Carson a couple million dollars? Everyone, you don't know that. What was announced today? Carson Wentz is going to be the number two. This is over. Like this thing is done. There is no more JJ McCarthy in the Minnesota Vikings. Honestly, new GM. So I'm not acting like they should have just cut him tomorrow. But like keeping him around to me doesn't make that much sense. In college football, you can dedicate time to develop a young quarterback. All these teams do it with some of these red shirt star quarterbacks that aren't necessarily playing. You can have scrimmages on Sunday with all the guys on your team that don't play.

1:00:55Colleges do it all around the country. In the NFL, when the season starts, the only thing that matters is who you're playing that week. And all the reps go to your starting quarterback. And then the reps that don't go to him, go to your backup, who also gets the rep. So he gets reps with the scout team. When does JJ McCarthy quote unquote, develop during the season? He now, as the third quarterback, becomes a complete afterthought. You know, with podcasts and modern media, we have heard so many of these backup quarterbacks. Go on different platforms and discuss like, hey, listen, I knew I wasn't going to get the physical reps. I had to go above and beyond. Always be ready. Be like a coach in there. That's what the number two is saying. So now you get this number three, who has completely been laughed by an old guy who most people thought he was done a couple years ago. And Kyler Murray, who essentially got bensed for Jacobi percent last year.

1:01:57Like sometimes in a relationship, you just got to cut bait. Anyone that plays a stock market, it can be hard to do if you believe in the thing. But you're like, I don't think this thing's coming back. I'm selling that to me is JJ McCarthy. Like there is no, there's no resurrection happening here in Minnesota. And unlike Baker Mayfield, and unlike Sam Darrell, who were in places where it's like, those guys have, don't want to have success there. Google how many quarterbacks Cleveland has had in the last 25 years, like 75. Everyone goes to the Jets and fails. Coaches and quarterbacks. People go to Minnesota and thrive. Sam Darrell went there and excelled. Kurt Cousins had the best years of his career playing in that organization. The Minnesota Vikings. I are probably one of the most successful organizations in the NFL.

1:02:57They like never goes to the sewer. They have been good the majority of my life. It is a well run place and starts their own ships good. This is not the Raiders the last 20 years. The Jets, the Browns. This is a well run organization. Think just, you don't need to be some, you know, Harry Roseman here to know every play on the league. There's a reason Minnesota over the last 15, 20 years has, they've had a ton of proble guys. At all sorts of positions. Guys that play for the Vikings typically play well. It's pretty rare that a guy is drafted by the Vikings, can't cut it and just goes excel somewhere else. Right, not saying it hasn't happened, I'm sure you can give me examples. But like this is not some dysfunctional, it's like, yeah, the Cardinals man just shitty situation had to figure it out somewhere else. No, this is a place where guys go and become stars like high level players or get traded to and kick ass and take names.

1:04:00In JJ McCarthy, he hasn't even had like, doesn't even belong on the field with the twos. So sometimes you just got to call a spade a spade. I see some of this with Bryce Underwood and Michigan. It's like, well, he's only 19, 20 years old. He's only a proof sophomore. He's like, yeah, we get that. But when we watch him play, it's like, okay, freshman year, weird year, wasn't great. You're playing Western Michigan. No one, you're not expecting you to be, you know, Michael Vickin is prime. I'm not expecting you to be MVP level of Mar Jackson. You know, no one's expecting you couldn't score a touchdown through a Hail Mary. Like you couldn't complete passes. You couldn't function in a passing up like basic stuff balls would skip to wide receivers. We all watch enough quarterback play college in the pro at the highest levels. Then I was like, okay, there's something there. And I think JJ just never showed there's something there.

1:05:02And we, Tray Lance never showed that. Antheo Richardson, it's like, it was a lot like Bryce Underwood. And he's like, God, what is going on here? I think Antheo Richardson was actually named the backup quarterback. So I give him credit. You know, you just must have done something, right? Prove someone, you know, like this, this is deserved. But JJ is the opposite. It's like, we cannot play this guy. We play this guy, we lose. Another thing I saw today was Brock Bowers having a little cleanup on his knee. Typically the recovery is four to six. Reports are the Raiders thinks he'll be, he'll be back much faster. The internet was not happy because I'm a first time fantasy guy. I have my fantasy team. I played daily fantasy. I've never played a full year fantasy. So I'm excited. But fantasy people are pissed because this guy went really high because by all accounts you get cousins.

1:06:03Like, he's has a good year. A couple of years ago, he had one of the great rookie years in the history of the sport. So you're like, yeah, even if he doesn't get it, is he going to catch 90 plus balls and 10 plus touchdowns? Like that's on the table. The teams do not give a shit about your fantasy team because people are like, how do we not know? Because I'm even like, what's, I thought wasn't he healthy and camp? What's going on? I don't know. As of recording this, I haven't seen, did he get hurt in practice? Is this something that's been lingering? But like, these teams are never going to give you, you know, heart, John Harbott today, kind of lost on the reporter. Because I think they were asking him like, who's going to play? Who's going to be your starter? And he's like, let's stop the press conference. We are not discussing who's going to play or when they're going to play or what formations they're going to play in. I'm never going to tell you that. Right? Especially before game one coaches get very weird about that. But it's like, yeah, if they don't have to tell you anything, they're not going to tell you anything.

1:07:03The 49ers, the first day they practice in Australia, did not release the injury report. Because while it was Wednesday there, it was only Tuesday to, you know, on the week. It was the days are different. But like, the Wednesday of their game week, it was only Tuesday in LA. They're like, well, if the Rams aren't going to do it, we're not going to do it. And they didn't do it. They waited an extra day when the Rams put it out. They put it out. So I think you have to look at this stuff like their livelihood, the coaches, the only thing they care about. And this gets back to the JJ thing is winning and losing each week and developing the guys who are playing through evaluating the film in which they play it, working on it in practice. But if you are a third stringer, they just have no, you're just, you're relevant. I mean, you really are. And Bowers, yeah, that sucks. One thing before we hit a couple of mail back questions is North Carolina.

1:08:06I do think it's got to the point. I saw a story today that they're not allowed to have recruits. You know, like LSU, they had all these elite recruits at the game, which I mean had to be an incredible experience for the recruits and their parents. Like, Lane, I'll come. I'm in like, where do I sign Lane? Like, it's a big deal to host recruits at home games. Now, I think they're playing Eastern Carolina or not playing a great opponent. But they're not allowed to have recruits because of a violation last year, which is like, what? I don't fall in North Carolina like on a daily basis, but it's like, that's... Michael Jordan playing for the Wizards is kind of irrelevant. If this six or something with LeBron is the biggest disaster of all time, no one will care. But there are certain situations that it's like, kind of hard to overcome. You know, kind of hard for anyone to forget.

1:09:06And this is creeping into the... kind of the area where it's like, bro. Lombardi resigned before the season started. Well, any level headed person would go, why would he resign and give up a ton of money? Like, almost $2 million. But he signs a $1.5 million a year contract. So that's what? $1.5, $3, $4.5 million. And it's middle of September. So he probably made three of the $4.5. Well, you're just going to give up $1.5 million or maybe $2 million. Probably knew that he wasn't beating the charges. Steve Belichack is just... He's got a drug problem. I mean, he's just clearly. And Belichack just acting like nothing's wrong. It's like, Bill, this is everything that your program has become. Is everything that all of us that loved...

1:10:06Like, I admired the Patriots. How they operated, how Bill ran things, how cutthroat they were, how serious they were. Whenever you hear Brady and Edelman and these guys talk about it in McCordy, I knew a lot of guys that had played there because of the Fresno State connections. You know, from Ryan Wendell, Logan Mannkins, James Sanders, Moses Cabrera was their strength coach. For like 15 years, he was when I was at Fresno State. I know a bunch of guys that worked there and the personnel staff. And I just like that place. My uncle was college roommates a long, long time ago with Dante, Skarnekia, Pat Hill worked for Bill Belichack. I felt like I knew that place pretty well as someone that I honestly probably couldn't have survived there. Adam Peters came on this podcast and gave stories like how just intense that place was. And it was just kind of the standard. It was what Alabama became in college football. It's like what John Wooden was at UCLA. It's what any dynasty becomes.

1:11:08And then it just this happens like that. This never would have been tolerated in New England. Why? Because nothing was tolerated in New England. Right. And if something happened like it was just they just moved on. And in this situation, it feels like things just linger. Part of it is like it's family members. And Bill feels and part of this is when you're old, I just don't think you're quite as nimble and as aggressive. And let's face it kind of driven. You know, I'm not saying Bill doesn't still work hard, but like he doesn't feel like the same human being. The guy that everyone freaked out when he wasn't allowed into the Hall of Fame. Right. When the Hall of Fame denied him, every human with a pulse that follows football, hell, they follow sports, all agreed. That might be the most egregious thing we've ever seen. Whoever was responsible for that on the ballot deserves to never get a credential, never get a vote.

1:12:13Be banned from football for life. Like that was the universal agreement. And we never agree on anything. And now this. It's just sad. It's just real sad. I think I can most people it's funny. I mean, it's just it's so insane. The videos of him running around with his helmet on. I guess some way through artificial intelligence. He was able if you googled him, it said he was on the team. I don't expect these cleat chasers to understand the going rate for a practice squad player. I can brag about the practice squad player but he owned the Gucci stores and his Lamborghinis and all his homes. I think you underestimate. I've always thought this.

1:17:22I love documentaries on the mob, on the cartels. It's like sometimes I watch so much stuff on criminals that it's like if they actually just put their mind to doing something above board, it would take a little bit longer. But they would 100% be successful. Like if Pablo Escobar was like, you know what? Instead of running a cocaine ring and anyone that gets in my way killing them. I'm going to run a financial institution. I'm going to run a company. He would have been good. I mean they kind of knew what they were doing. Now the mob, you know, again some of the guys in the mob, some of them would not. But anyone that's watched criminal documentaries like kind of, that was pretty smart. If you just were to put his brain to the right thing like Dejon love, if you are spending that much effort doing something, it's America's not that difficult.

1:18:22I think one of the reasons is the greatest place in the world is like you don't need to be a bugging genius in this country to have financial success. Which is what most speaking for men, I think aspire to have some level. Obviously there are different levels, but to just get to a place where you just feel good about your finances. Most of us have been in positions where it's like, oh, rent's coming to pretty low. But once you get to a point in life which you have the opportunity here, you don't need to be a Harvard grad to figure it out. And I think some of these guys run these scams like I saw some of like former athletes blaming the women because clear they want a day to play. Like we all aspire to date, I guess someone cool or good looking or successful like whatever, right? Do I expect them to be able to wiki a guy and be like, yeah, this guy's not actually on the night. Just because he posted a video of him running some, I saw some other people like, look at these routes, they're so terrible.

1:19:26Like, do you think the random chick who wants to bang an NFL player understands the routes on sand? Okay, my expectations are pretty low, but my expectations in 2026 or I think this happened a couple years ago to just be able to utilize the internet and figure out like, this guy's not telling the truth. But he's good salesman. And good salesman, I know a lot of them in different industries that they make a lot of money. He just selling a fake life and committed fraud and now he's fucked. I've also never been in the position dating someone. Honestly, even thinking like, honestly, most of my friends were making way more money than me most of my life. Where someone's like, hey, man, I need 50 grand for whatever. I need 20 grand. I need whatever. To me that someone says that you got to feel pretty comfortable with the human.

1:20:28Especially in a relationship. Like, how long have you been dating this guy? And he wants what? I would say typically a red flag, unless you've been dating a long, long time and you feel very comfortable. You've made reference now, Lane Kiffin, in his liking the quote, co-eds on the team. Well, I can't believe I'm actually asking this because I truly don't care enough to look it up. But what do you mean by that? Isn't he married? Is he not? Is he dating students or something? Lane Kiffin is divorced. I think Leila led the charge on that one. He's been divorced for a long time. When I say co-eds, and there was just an article, an excerpt from a book coming out. It's very well known. Lane runs around. Nothing wrong with that. Single dude. Get it in, bro. But when I say co-eds, I just mean like students on campus.

1:21:29If you are in a college town, like if I just went out in Tempe, Arizona all the time, it's like 20 minutes away from my house. That was a single guy. Like, you would eventually, if you were trying, start hanging out with some college checks. And where does Lane live on college campuses? He was well documented when he was at Bama. Look at Lane now. Skinny, good looking. Elejaball Bachelor. Making 12 milli. Chicks like that. So Lane runs around. It's well documented. I mean, an article just came out. Again, based on my information, a lot of stories out there. When I say co-eds, I just mean, yeah. Young girls. Young girls. Tulane student. I'm a senior of always. Known Darian Mences a dog. He got solid arm. Looks way bigger than his size. Plus he's more mobile than you think. That being said, my friends and I are tired of seeing our best players leave Tulane every year. So he came up with a retention tool. We're trying to sell to Tulane and other small colleges.

1:22:31It's called the second half network. It's free to student athletes and paid for by their respective schools. And connect student athletes with experienced mentors in their desire fields to help them build the network when they get a job after college. What do you think of the idea? As a former GA could you see a program like Fresno paying 50 to 100k a year for something like this to attract recruits who care about getting a job after college? I think what you're saying has value. There's no doubt about it in the pre NIL transfer portal world. The power of going for four years to a program like Tulane, like North Carolina, USC, you name it any school. Whether you became Reggie Bush or Tuah or Joe Burrow or just the last guy in the roster and played for four or five years. Being part of that community, that network was a big benefit and it changed a ton of the large percentage of the guys life.

1:23:35I played football the University of Washington for four years. The people you get to meet, the doors that opens, it's big done. And now it's that that sell is irrelevant because Tulane, even if that sell works on a guy, I go to Tulane. I might not make the NFL, but I'm going to Tulane. Best school that's recruiting me. Maybe they're offering me 25k. I don't know how much Tulane pays and then I'll probably not that much. But then I become a good player. So you're talking about player retention. And then let's say it's not even LSU. Let's say it's Kentucky. Let's say it's Kansas. One of the power for a program calls me and offers me $400,000. I had a buddy, and I've told the story I think before, that is coaching at one of the best non-power for programs in the country. And he lost alignment two years ago to an SEC school. And that lineman was a really good player for him, all conference.

1:24:37And the SEC school gave him a two year deal, I think at like $400,000 a year. That guy doesn't even start. He wanted to come back, but the buyout of his contract was like $125,000. Well, the school that lost him can't afford to buy someone out to come back. Let alone pay their own guys. So the reason he left is because when you're 20 years old and the school's a legit, you know, SEC program. It's not BAM or Georgia, but it's... They've been good in the past. You just, you're gonna turn out a million dollars. So like the retention thing or I mean the network thing, sounds good in theory. But then when people offer, it's just hard for these guys to turn it down. And that's what it becomes because they contact you. So it sucks. You know, I don't know what to tell you. I don't think as long as guys are able to transfer whenever they want.

1:25:40There's nothing that can slow that down. Because the other thing is I get it at 40 years old. The power of a network. My wife says forever, like she's in the real estate world, like your net worth is your network. Hell, I mean, I definitely true for me. I mean, the people that changed my life, I talk about them all the time, like, I mean, shit, look at Colin. You know, my network isn't, I would say as vast as many. But like the individuals were key cogs to my life. And I think most people are that way. And you value it, you know, when you're not an athlete, I think a little bit more. When you're a college football player, I think you're just living in the moment a little bit more in this environment. Back in the day you weren't. What's your fantasy team looking like? This will be the one and only time we have ever rattled this off. Only fantasy season I've ever played. But hey, I want to get involved all the producers with the volume are playing.

1:26:44We're going to fire through it. I got burrow at quarterback Kenneth Walker running back. Mike Washington, just in case, Gen T's banged up as my second running back. But I also got a. I also got another running back, I think. I got Puka, Nuku, I had the second overall pick. Problem is we were in Santa Barbara on vacation. I was running back. I wasn't signed in. It auto drafted. I wanted Jamar chase. So I, I did not want Puka. I wanted Jamar chase. I got my Kevin's. I got a Gadsden, the tight ended the chargers. I got Parker Washington, DK Metcalf. Butker Texans D. Matthew Golden. I got Lloyd. They're running back because they're the running back might be in jail. I got D most of the annual Travis Kelsey Travis Hunter shot out prime on my bench. I like my squad. Like my squad. Okay, well, end on this question for the bag. I push back on you before about Jason light. And I feel like the bakery signing is another point in my favor. Why did we have to resign him right now?

1:27:55And not only did we not get the most team friendly deal. He is the highest paid. He's getting paid higher than I feel his worth and production can justify. But we might be in a market for a coach very soon. So my question is this. Do you think a coaching candidate would prefer to have a price here, but established vet quarterback already on the roster. Do you think like I do that they would prefer to have a clean slate? Well, one, I was reading today. My details could be a little off the SP and article because I was trying to find the details of this. Contract. He definitely got a bump this year because he wasn't making that much relative to like the top guys. He's making $40 million this year over the course of those next three years. They guaranteed him $110 million. So if this is a gigantic disaster, guess what? They can get out. It's not this isn't a Sean Watson. Jalen Phillips, the past russian for the panthers got $80 million in free agency.

1:28:55If they had given him $200 million guaranteed, I would have been like, that's pretty bullsy move. But he was he was playing this year no matter what. So, you know, at his level, he was definitely underpaid. So you take care of him $40 million $870. It's fine. I mean, that's probably the going rate for Baker Mayfield in a perfect world. Well, I like to pay him 40 every year. Yes. But if you only you you're kind of out is he didn't he got way less than like two atonka by low. He got like three years ago in terms of guarantees. So now I think if he just play solid, he'll see every penny of the $200 million over the course of the next four years. But I think the next coach would 100% unless he falls off a cliff and is a complete disaster. Which I can't imagine happening and I don't think Jason Light would do that if he didn't just watch him for the last month. He's a good player. Like we think he's going to sustain this. We've already seen him. He can maintain what he's been as long as he's healthy, which is the big if for most guys.

1:29:57I think they would much rather a Baker Mayfield than you know, let's let's say the bucks go let's say they have a bad year. What's the bad year for them? 7 and 10. What what's that draft pick 15? Like you're not getting Dante more Darian Mensa there. So I think it's somewhat of a contingency plan that way as well. Because if you get in the offseason franchise tags large contracts. Let's say as a good year. Then that number goes from $110 million guaranteed to like 190. So I when I saw the 110 number again. Maybe I'm speaking out of turn. Maybe I read the wrong article. If it is truly that number which sometimes the NFL can be hard to find exact numbers. I think that's a no brainer deal if you're Jason Light. Again, he's had a front row seat for his entire career in Tampa because he's been the GM the whole time. And he's watched every throw he's made over the course of last month and a half. So I he knows this guy really, really well. And so why yesterday I said on the podcast like Baker handled this well.

1:30:59Handle like a pro. I'm not going to freak out. I'm not going to go nuts. But I think I deserve a little bit more than what you guys have offered. And who I think it also shows like I don't think they were often much. I wonder if the guarantees were like $70 80 million. Which in the NFL at any moment your leg could get snapped in your career could it. Like I'm not taking the same amount Jalen Phillips just got. Because that's what you'd be talking once he gets to free. He would get a little more complicated. One on that. Adios. The volume.
