3.27 Devotional - Repent and Act

After our calm weeks where we don't have a sermon, we focus on a Christian practice in the devotional's. These practices help us cement the truths we have learned in this campaign in our lives. Today, let's take the appropriate steps to obey once we have found an area in which we have not been obeying God. The first step after discovering disobedience to God is to repent. Confess your sin to Him and commit to obedience. Then, identify the heart, the matter of the will, that lies beneath your disobedience. In the example of someone disobeying God's call to ministry, perhaps the individual finds that he is afraid because he doesn't know how God will provide for him if he switches careers.

1:02Fear then is the underlying heart issue. After repenting and identifying the matter of the heart, submit that to God. In the example we just used, this individual should submit his career and his provision to God. Confess that he trusts God to provide even if he doesn't see how God will provide. Then, finally, act in faith. Obey even if you don't see why God wants you to do this, or how it will bring about a good outcome.
