3/20/24: Complex Clipper

In this episode we discuss the details of a weather system that will be bringing a late season snowstorm to the upper Midwest (of the United States). We discuss what type of system this is and whether this particular storm is unique. Learn about whether Chicago, “the windy city” is included in this. Learn about the impacts this system will have on other Midwest cities such as Milwaukee Wisconsin, Minneapolis Minnesota and Bismarck North Dakota. We discuss how this system will impact the East Coast with a focus on New England. We discuss which part of Canada this system originated from. We speak about the storm's moisture feed and whether it's from the Gulf of Mexico or the Pacific Ocean. Heavier snowfall rates will happen in some areas and we learn about this connection to frontogenesis. The number of frontogenesis-induced snowfall associated with this system is discussed.
