When a dog is on a leash, they will wander around, driven by instinctual desires, until they slowly run out of leash. At this stage, most will lie down and be content with where they are. This just so happens to be a great analogy for life... with a caveat. We must be content with where we end up, but at the same time, we have something very powerful that the dog does not: rational faculties.
