Arthur’s family is impoverished by his dad’s drinking. He wastes his time in school but graduates. Joins the Navy but is so immature he’s released in two weeks. Marries his sweetheart but drinks like his father. Daughter is born with cleft in face, nearly dies in later surgery. Arthur promises God he’ll go to church if God saves her. God does and Arthur keeps his promise. His wife is saved and the pastor visits and leads Arthur to Christ. Both he and Dad quit drinking, and Arthur leads his father to Christ.
