About this episode
Welcome to the first episode of 'Mums F**king Matter' with a male guest; a Dad and friend of mine, Mike Dye.
Mike is one of my good friends and (especially after my experience with toxic relationships) I've always been in awe and appreciation of how good a partner and Dad he is.
Mike and I are obviously not relationship coaches, but it's great to reflect in this honest and open conversation as parents and partners to other people, as to what can make things work better.
In this episode we speak about:
- the importance of good communication
- working on 'keeping the spark'
- being a supportive partner and allowing one other space
- making time to be truly present for your children and the difference that can make
- how he has learned to be a better parent
- making time to nourish himself as well as being a partner, a parent and giving to his work
Mike is a (brilliant!) sports therapist and the Founder of New Health Project.
Themes: Relationships, Fatherhood, Parenting, Mental Health
At the end, I share a poem written by Karen McMillan.
