Pan African Resources is a well-established gold miner with long-standing assets in South Africa and a growing presence in Australia. The company was built around the Barberton gold mine in Mpumpalanga, which first began operating in the nineteenth century. During the past couple of decades Pan African has significantly added to its portfolio, bringing on new mines as well as earnings-accretive tailings projects. The recent high gold price has pushed up margins, and propelled the company to a market capitalisation of nearly £2 billion.
