Sid Simons is a musician.
I first heard of Sid when he was in his band Girlskin where my friend Ruby played violin in so of course I would support and go check it out for myself.
Girlskin was such a New York band that I loved listening to. Reminded me of all those Patti Smith books I used to read before moving to NYC but without shooting up of course. This isn’t another Sid and Nancy story so piss off! Berlin is still my favorite venue in the East Village where I would find all my favorite local bands and of course anything Jesse Malin touches that supports the underground New York scene.
As time went on things changed but Sid always remained a musician. Now going solo I had to see for myself. Sid Simons crushing it with opening up for Franz Ferdinand, looks good in a blazer, this is all reminding me of the MTV days.
