Okay. Speaking about the Hello! Hello! Hey! That was... uh... uh... Nightlands in English? Yes, English! Yes, English! Hello! So, hello! Hello, nice to meet you. Hello! Hello! Hey! That was... uh... Nightlands in English? Yes, English!
Yes, English, yes. That was very beautiful. Thank you! Thank you very much! And you made the kids go wild? Yes, that's awesome for me! Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah! To feel the energy, right? Probably the best energy, actually. Yeah. The air transparent, I would say. Yeah. They like it for a bit. They are tired and they move on. They feel that energy and that's nice. Yeah. Yeah, and you are here like uh... Yeah, I have to say, we are live from radio-papapoo. Yeah, super. I like that. We both got to know your uh... Yeah. Thank you. Yeah, well, uh... you know it's beautiful songs. And very uh... yeah, I don't know. Yeah. Well, I just had to come from it, so... Oh, yeah, I'm gonna be... Yeah, yeah, yeah, sure. Yeah, that's the uh...
Well, the music is my... My compositions. Uh-huh. Basically, all of them started like cello sketches. Only exercises or trying techniques that I saw in other cellists or other bands that play this kind of fusion. Like cello metal apocalyptic is one of the... The examples that I... It's my favorite band, so... Apocalyptic. Apocalyptic. Yeah, so basically I started... Following the cello, learning more about music, playing. And in my country we have a lot of folklore music from different... Yeah. My country is Mexico. Mexico's... I come from Mexico City. And from Mexico, we have different dances and expressions from communities, indigenous communities that are like really energetic dances and wild movements.
Very fast movements. So I thought it was very natural to play with the cello, those dances, and make some rhythms. And... This cello is not like regular instrument in that kind of music maybe. No, it's not regular. It's mostly performed in orchestras, ensembles or academies conservatories. But for... I am one of those that like to explore outside of the classical music. I think that was the first initiative that took me in the direction of doing riffs or mixing with rock. And the shakers are also indigenous addition because in Mexico City, before in the past there was the Aztec culture or Mexica culture. And they were offering dances.
They used this instrument to dance. So it's rhythmically very powerful. I would say the sound... It is like a drum, very bass drum. And I think it connects with something ancient in all of us, the sound of these shakers. So I think with the cello, having atmospheres, doing rhythms that can be powerful or can feel powerful, challenging also the technique in the conservatory to adding rhythmical patterns or being more aggressive, more loud. Yeah, you studied in conservatory? Yes, in Mexico I did my classical studies. But when I finish I came here to do a master degree with a cellist called Ernst Reisheer.
He is from... Yes, he is a very famous cellist, like that cellist. And I took lessons with him. And after my graduation I was searching for playing with these, but also many different things like healthcare, infisioterapia and music in composition. And there is a combination. Yeah, a combination with different disciplines. And also composing for other musicians, arrangements for their songs or their releases. They want to record some cello and I record for them or for little animations, things like that. So every time the exercise of relearning the instrument in other direction is my, yes, like my direction.
And this project is recently with Matin, a drummer, that we started playing together to make it more into the rock, see more metal. Because I think this instrument is very friendly with many genres. And to be in a punk festival, in a punk celebration of a so important venue in that direction, it's always nice to be in the edge with classical music, but distorted or heavier. Yeah, usually I have more distortion, but they distortion to make it more raw and rock also. But yeah, anyway the cello has that sound. Yeah, yeah, it does not lead that much. Yeah. And yeah, it's like maybe I'm not playing too many melodies right now more rhythmic,
but the planning is at some point to have some backing track, like with other cello recorded or other sounds to have harmony, and to improvise because we improvise while playing sometimes, like between the sections, in the early spaces. Yeah, the drums really work well with you, it's a beautiful arrangement. Yeah. I mean if you would come to me to say like it's a cello and a drum, that's a perfect one. Yeah, but that's really nice. Yeah, I think so too. Yeah, it adds that complement, rhythmical, but texture and the intention as well, because the drums can be very loud, and that increases the energy of the playing, or also if it's soft and a texture that is less sound, it becomes also very delicate. So it's like an instrument that has that range of dynamic, that for dancing, music, rock, music, or any detailed music is very, very nice.
And the cello also has those qualities I think. Yeah, you also play in different bands or projects. Yeah, some friends invite me to play in their projects, like I collaborate in the past in other bands, metal bands as well. Yeah, like the symphonic metal that they want to combine symphony and heavy metal. And also Iranian fusion, like gas fusion, improvisation, atmospheric, like really I try to be diverse. Yeah, I think the best. Learn more, yeah. That's the only way to always figuring out, but you have to say, you can say in a specific music genre or anything.
Yeah, especially if you also do composition. Yeah, I would say that in that sense becomes even more obsessive, because then you want to be very explorative, very experimented with specific things, and composition becomes like combining potions, a little bit of jazz, a little bit of dugrass, a little bit of rock, indeed rock, specifically. But it's very nice to be on the exercise of doing more and more and more every time. With other musicians that always had something new, yes. Yeah, well, really nice. Do you play a lot with this combination? We drums and with drums and cello. Yeah, I think it's the only way I play these songs. Yeah.
It's the only setting, like we took both. The other bands have, like for example bass, guitar, traditional instruments, or bass guitar, guitar, drums, and keyboard player with a lot of synth and effects. So, yeah, you would say that I tried many different combinations, but my favorite would be cello and drums. Yeah, that's like my favorite. Yeah. English. Yeah. Yeah, that was really beautiful. I really worked well with this bandation. I think so too. Yeah. Especially the very drum somewhere. Thank you. Not an expert in the music. Yeah, this combination allows to, it really requires conscious listening to what's happening on the cello and reacting to that on the drums.
Yeah. It's just very intimate. Yeah. And you also learn on the concert story? Yeah, I'm currently studying in cloning and trans cars. Yeah. And you play with different combinations or? Yeah, I play in another also like jazz, experimental combination, hex worker. And I'm doing a lot of my own work, which is more drums and electronics. Yeah. Now, you also operate the electronics. Yeah, yeah. Yeah, it's running drums through your facts working with samples. Check out the drums. Yeah, you can see a lot of possibilities like this. The totally does. Yeah. You'll play solo? Yes. Yeah. Yeah. And under what's your hex? What's your name? Oh, that's just under my name. And Mutsi Kutsner.
Yeah. I like it. I'm the sound of a rickshaw. That's it. That's it. Yeah.
Yeah. Yeah. Okay, now, mate. Woo! Nice to see you.
Woo! Okay, done. Woo! Woo! Woo! Woo! Woo! Woo! Woo! Woo! Woo! Woo! Woo!
