Education in many ways has changed since the early 20th century. Many, the liberals I mean, are quite okay with the current system only believing in minor reforms. These mirror their own concerns about American society at large, more diversity, more democracy for parents and staff, rarely the children, sanitation, etc. They ignore the fundamental issues that are at the heart of education that anarchist, Vulturing, Declar and other saw to Claire was an advocate of intensive educational change, the replacement of educational practices and institutions of her time that reflective principles of religious dogma, authority and another gear in the machine type instruction. She saw that abuse in the intellectual and emotional dehumanization of children was never going to produce full and healthy adults to quote declare or if a razor of animals were to start infeeding them on a regimen adapted not to their tastes, but to his if he were to insist on stuffing the young ones with food only fitted for the older ones. I'll take this week. My apologies to the effort. So thoughtfully put this together. Yeah, which maybe points to some of the lackluster aspects of anarchist education. Yeah, well, what do you what do you think about like do you have reflections about schooling in general as an anarchist? I mean, yes, and that I had to go to school in the United States. I think some of the questions I feel like to me point to this like future that I sometimes hear people talk about like the future or like anarchist futures or whatever as like how are we going to do it? And I think when we talk about like models of schooling, we're talking about the establishing institutions which I'm not outright rejecting because of anarchism or something. But I think that education can look many, many, many different ways and education is about to me making a certain life way or way of existence reproducible to the children or to the youth or whatever or to like, you know, edify adults or whatever.
And I think that some of the different models that people describe around schooling are about trying to pretend like the role of institutional schools in our society is somehow different or can be made into something different than what it is. I think when we talk about like hunter gatherer stuff, it's like, well, those are ways of learning that are structured around particular ways of existing. And I think that these questions are kind of pointing at least for me to a couple of different like actual types of questions of like what is the role of schooling in our society? What is it that we as anarchists or political agents or whatever believe the role of educating children or each other or like, you know, either through like popular education, free schools or like reading groups. What do these, what are our goals around those things, dangerous word goals, but like what are our desires or our visions or why do we do that, why do we engage with that. And then there's this other sort of like question of like how, like, why do like, how do we raise children, what do we want to learn and what kinds of societies are going to exist when we are all free from the global.
Which I think these are different things that get wrapped up because of social liberal understandings of the role of education and like voters or like college and it's like role and maybe radicalizing people are offering people away out in their early adulthood. And so I think these things get kind of tangled together. And like, doesn't none of those necessarily have to do with like what is learning and why would we like to learn together. Yeah. Yeah. So I feel like So I feel like, please correct me if I'm mistaken, but what I'm hearing you say is that there's like the role of education in society now. And this sort of begs the question of like what type of energy are we doing, are we doing, are we practicing the world that we want to see now and experimenting. So how could that look like what could learning look like. We don't even have to call education. And then also like if the role of education in society right now is to like produce a citizen essentially, then like how do we support that. Is that, did I understand you right.
I mean, I think I think those are aspects of it, but I think the question of like how do we support that is like that is to be more pointing towards one of the things that I think many people hope to do as an anarchist when we're doing our sort of sort of education, but some of it is like what is our
