202: Settling the Fibre Debate - Is it Good, Bad or Even Necessary?
About this episode
The benefits of fibre have been up for debate for a number years now because some people feel much worse and others feel much better when they eat it. This puts some tension between the plant and animal based communities, so I thought we'd settle it here and now.
So the question we need to ask isn't "is fibre good?"; but instead we should be asking "is fibre good for YOU right now. And "why or why not?"
TOPICS DISCUSSED:
- Is fibre an essential nutrient?
- what does fibre do in your gut?
- why would fibre make your gut better or worse?
- how much should you eat and how do you introduce it properly?
- do you need fibre to poop?
- who should or should not be eating fibre, and why?
