故居最早建于1933年，1951年归台湾师范大学管理，作为学校老师宿舍。后来民国41年梁实秋担任师范大学英语系系主任后迁入居住。因感于梁实秋作育英才无数，主编英汉辞典与中学英文课本等，影响远大，所以故居于民国92年正式归列于台北市文化资产。
