山縣 有朋（やまがた ありとも、天保9年閏4月22日（1838年6月14日） – 大正11年（1922年）2月1日）は、日本の武士（長州藩士）、陸軍軍人、政治家。
この言葉の示すように常に「一介の武弁」であると自称していた山県は、そういった言葉とはうらはらに政治力もあり、原敬の本格的な政党内閣も容認する度量もあった。また庭造りにも造詣が深く、東京の椿山荘、京都の無鄰菴、小田原の古稀庵庭園は、自ら想を練り岩本勝五郎や7代目小川治兵衛をして築かせたものである。その庭は今でも椿山荘で偲ぶことができる。
