About this episode
I see many shy away from Stoicism because they feel that they can't enjoy life. They feel Stoicism is a philosophy is never enjoying anything. That simply isn't the case. The Stoics were very particular in how they viewed things, and it is no different with "externals", which were thought to be indifferent. That being said, how does Stoicism view the passionate areas of life, such as music, or fiction, or art, or even simple pleasures like brownies? Can a Stoic "have their cake and eat it too", or must one sustain from all simple pleasures? In this episode I discuss Stoicism through the lens of a passionate musician and lover of fiction.
