今回は「第24回全国自主怪獣映画選手権 特撮のまち・須賀川大会」に現地参加してきたレポート回です。
ウルトラマンゼットやブレーザーを手がけた田口清隆監督プロデュースの、自主制作怪獣映画オンリーのコンテスト「自怪選」。今回は須賀川での開催4回目となりました。
全国から集まった14本の怪獣映画を、約5時間半かけて一気見。
年齢も作風もバラバラな作品が並ぶ“ごちゃまぜ感”こそが、自怪選の魅力です。
会場の熱気や満席の様子、印象に残った県内作品「大怪獣イナワシロン」の話、
そして「特撮のまち・須賀川」から、これからどんな怪獣映画が生まれてほしいか――
