133. SHORTS: What is an index fund?

Investing legend Warren Buffett isn’t shy in his praise for index funds. For decades now, Buffett has insisted that most investors are best served by buying a low-cost index fund over shares. At the Get Rich Slow Club, we’re bullish on index funds as well – which is why we discuss them so often.

But if you’re new to investing, you might not be entirely sure what an index fund actually is. Like “synergy” or “gang gang”, you could use it in a sentence, but might struggle to provide a textbook definition. Worry not, though, for by this episode’s end, you’ll feel qualified to hold your own in any index fund conversation!
